1. Reflectivejournal:
Week 1- contextual research
The first week of starting my FMP was a success. I began by focusing on my contextual
PowerPoint, this involved finding information on existing people in the public eye who
relate around the subject of fashion for example a fashion designer, owners of a fashion
brand or photographers. I focused more on older people because I felt they had the most
facts and statistic about them, so I was able to find a lot of information which was a benefit.
A couple of people which I looked into were Telfar Clemens I was very inspired by his
shopping bags because I loved the meaning behind this and how they were made I also
looked into Cristobal Balenciaga another designer who inspires me a lot from his
background and younger era. I enjoyed this part of research because I was able to explore
and get to know more facts individually on each of these people which was another benefit.
I also had gathered together some strong images of there work which can also give me more
inspiration to look back upon when it comes to my production. I did struggle with a few
negatives to my contextual research such as finding the right information which would be
meaningful towards my work this is because some people, I found harder to gather
information as there wouldn’t be as many websites to look onto. I also found more
information on their work rather than about them as a person and their opinions on fashion
which I would have liked to explore more if so. I also added into the end of this research
some of my theory work for that extra bit of information, which was the Male Gaze Theory,
which I was able to link from my essay work which was a huge benefit towards my work.
Moving on from this my next weeks lesson will be focused on the other parts to my research
and I have now learnt a lot more information and facts upon these people.
Week 2- proposal
Moving on from this I began to fill out my proposal as I have completed these before I found
this quite easy to get through as by this point, I know exactly what I am wanting to make
and my audience etc. I began by reflecting on my previous projects within my time studying
media in college and found aspects which are similar to what subject I am focusing on now

2. (which is fashion). I found this very helpful because I took time
to reflect and figure out how I can make links to previous
projects and look back on these for inspiration as most of mine
relate towards the fashion industry. I then moved onto talking
about my project concept, and what I will be exactly producing
as a whole and mentioned ways I will be evaluating my products.
After this I created a bibliography which was a great way for me
to find different websites or books which I could find
information from it also is a help to be less time consuming
because I can just copy these links instead of spending hours
searching for the correct information. I managed to collect 10
different links which I believe s a wide range for myself to pick
when it comes to things such as my research etc. The last part involved with my proposal
was my specific tasks focus for each week I typed up certain tasks I would focus on each
week of my FMP and found this very useful because each week I can check back on this
page on my website to see what I will be focusing on it is a great organisation skill I have
gained and will keep me on track. I also think as a whole my proposal has been very
beneficial towards my project it has helped me to collect the firm choice for my product and
I now have a strong demographic choice and also specific tasks I will be needing to complete
throughout.in next week’s lesson I will be moving onto the contextual statement this will be
an overview on my project.
Week 3-contextual statement
Moving onto week three of my FMP I has started by checking back on both my contextual
research and the proposal because I wanted to make sure I have added as much information
and facts that I could have and once I had done this, I started my contextual statement,
typing up around the strengths through college and previous subjects and why this project
means a lot to me and the area of fashion. I also mentioned about my future and things like
that because these were my benefits and things I have achieve through the course, however
the contextual statement reminded me a lot of the proposal which I had just been through I
felt I was repeating myself a lot and linked in with the same stuff for each of these which I
didn’t really like. Although I have included a lot of information, I don’t feel that this will be
as helpful for myself when it comes to production. I also found this statement quite time
consuming as it had taken me the whole week to complete which I didn’t want it to as I
could have begun my research. I haven’t really got much experience from writing a
statement other than the essay which I completed so from scratch I just firstly began by
writing in bullet points because I found this a lot more helpful, and it didn’t confuse me. I
then worded these into groups and put them into paragraphs this was a great way to set out
a statement especially when writing a lot this was a main success for me and I had learnt
this from previous projects.in next week’s lesson I will be moving onto my market research
which will include audience, market, production and topic- I am excited to begin the
research to explore more into my subject.

3. Week 4-market + audience research
Week 4 of my FMP was the beginning of my research PowerPoint for this I split my
PowerPoint into 4 sections and
decided to focus on market and
audience this whole week, begging
with audience research I looked
into websites which relate towards
Instagram demographics, websites
and shopping statistics between
male and female this was very
successful for me I found out a
range of facts about every part to
the research which I needed and
gained a lot more knowledge. Most importantly I was able to find my exact demographic for
my age range of 18-26 which backed me up a lot in my work. The last thing for my audience
research was an audience profile which I based of my own knowledge and related it towards
myself this was minimalistic and short, but the short words still created detail to my work, I
believe it’s better if I understand my audience as much as possible this is because its easier
to know what sort of advertisement and content is needed in my products. I was very happy
with my audience research it is detailed and at the end of my audience I created a mini
summary for each section which added to it. I then moved onto my market research which
included existing products I completed 5 existing products which were also very detailed I
expanded each one into looking into the logo, Instagram page and website. This inspired me
a lot because I took inspiration from every single one with things like the layout plans to
colour schemes and image style by the end pf my existing products, I knew exactly what I
wanted my products to look like which is a great start, every existing product applied to my
demographic which was a bonus to
my work. I managed to complete
both of these research sections in
one week however there is still little
bits I need to finish off next week
which will hopefully not set me back.

4. Week 5- finishing of production + topic research
Week 5 was the final week of my research PowerPoint I started to finish off any other bits I
didn’t complete in the first week which was only one page of a market research summary
this took me around 30 mins which wasn’t too bad. After this I begin topic research for this,
I needed to conduct a lot of research which surrounded the fashion industry, mental health
and social media this research gave me an InSite and changed my mind set on how I view
fashion a lot which I think means a lot to me because I realised not everything seems perfect
and they do have many problems involved in fashion. I am now able to use this into my
production especially the mental health facts because I am aiming to achieve a theme in my
brand which is dedicated to mental health awareness and self-love. Once finishing off with
topic research I moved onto the last bit which is production research I would say this part is
the least helpful for me because I gained knowledge, but I felt I already knew most of this
stuff with previous experience from my other projects and such. For example, I know how to
use lightroom and how to change the levels of editing with it however this is something I
can look on and still make progress from learning a bit more into it. I decided to add that
extra bit I would create an overall thought to my
research to pull everything together and pick
out what I have learnt and how this will impact
on my production work. Overall, I am very
happy with my research work I think I have
added so much detail and really spent time on
this PowerPoint to achieve my outome.in next
week’s lesson I begin my next PowerPoint which
is problem solving focused.
Week 6- Problem Solving
Onto week 6 into my FMP which I had began by moving
onto my problem-solving PowerPoint for this I have listed all
the theoretical problems which I found quite easy to think of
as I already had a lot of planning in my head on what my
production would consist of. I manage to create a few slides
on this and was happy with what I had, I included solutions
to these problems which will help me when it comes to
production. (I can look back on this PowerPoint if
any of these problems occur). once I had completed
the first section, I moved onto the next part which
was practical and technical problems for this one I
couldn’t think of as many problems which was a
weakness because I only managed to get two which
were equipment and post/editing however this is all
I could really include which would be relevant to my
own project. A benefit to these sections was that I

5. could easily name quite a lot of problems, so I was able o get through this PowerPoint
smoothly than expected. The last part for my problem solving was the experiments at first
this wasn’t very successful because I could only think of two which was looking into fonts
using YouTube, I tried this out and struggled to follow the tutorials much. I didn’t feel Asif I
was learning as much as I wanted to before my
production had started therefore, over the weekend I
had taken a few photoshoots for an extra experiment
I thought may benefit for myself. Which was different
types of lighting this turned out a lot better and I felt I
had learnt which types of lighting is best for specific
locations I will use or atmosphere. This one did take
longer than expected because I then had to wait till, I
could take the photographs, but I managed to keep up
on my time schedule which was a big aim for myself. I am happy with my problem-solving
PowerPoint, and I want to be able to hear feedback before my production time in next
week’s lesson I will move onto starting the next bit of my FMP which will be Pre-Production.
Week 7- preproduction
Week 7 is pre-production week to start this of I focused on taking about my equipment
which I was going to use and the options I have even pros and cons to these equipment to
make sure I am picking the correct one I then
created font choice, image style and colour
schemes these were a strength because I
already knew from my research PowerPoint
exactly what I wanted so I managed to get
through these quickly but with a lot of detail
and I was very specific with the exact colours
and image styles expanding to shot types. I
think overall including point a such is
helpful and expanding my ideas because it
creates an image in my head as to what my
outcomes will look like so far, I wouldn’t
say I had come across any type of
weaknesses because I knew how to find
every type of information or images I
needed. Moving on from this I then
generated brand name ideas because this
was something I was still struggling with and was undecided from this I thought it could be
helpful to create a google forms question to grab a few responses with my chosen word
which was ‘luxe’ this was definitely a strength again because my audience was able to help
find the real meaning behind this name and that there is a meaning. Lastly, I created
personnel of both me and my other team member and listed strengths a weakness which

6. we need to look out for. I think I am happy so far with my pre-production because I am
adding things which are related to my products and how they will help me, there is a lot
more as such which I can add so hopefully in my next lesson I will add this in.
Week 8- finishing pre-production
The last week of my pre-production I continued to create a layout plan overview which was
revolved around my website and page these turned out successful because I spent a lot of
time expanding the drawings to be detailed whilst annotating them as well this gave me a
more in dep outcome to how my products will turn out, however I am hoping to stick to this
layout plan because I wouldn’t want my outcome to be different to these because then I
haven’t shown the same progress. I created 4 slides to the layouts I believe I could have
added more layouts and drawings which was my weakness however when it comes to
improvements which I will be doing later on I can reflect and improve these for a better
outcome. Secondly, I then found my location strategies a strength to this was choosing my
plan B location just in case this is because if I don’t have enough free time to travel far, I will
always have a much simpler back up plan to choose from which is a good tactic. I also
explored into a production schedule of including what type of activity I will be doing; I didn’t
really think much to this production schedule because I didn’t add in as much as I could of
with things such as adding dates or specific shot types this wasn’t very detailed. The last
part to my pre-production was the health and safety section which I explored a lot and
found things which could be a cause to my production work. Overall, I think I have added a
lot to my pe-production and explored it however I know there is certain aspects to still be
improved on or added to in more detail which I will make sure to come back onto when I am
improving PowerPoints.

7. Week 9-production, Wednesday 6th April
first week of my production I
have begin to look into wix
websites and picking an
example which I can edit into
and change I prefer this than
starting from scratch because
it is a lot less time consuming.
As I haven’t yet been able to
take any pictures for
production this week, I will be leaving this for
the two weeks off (easter holiday). therefore,
my focus in begging my
layouts for the website
design using colour
schemes from my pre-
production which I also spent a bit of time looking back on to recap myself with. I have
begun with a pink and white colour scheme, but this may change one I begin to add in a lot
more aspects I also then have chosen my font for my brand using photoshop to add smaller
blending tools such as shadows and tones to give it more of a sharper effect. I also have
started to add in which pages I will be needing this is included in my pre-production layout
part which makes it easier for me to know my exact layout (this may change throughout) I
don’t feel Asif I have gotten as much done today as I would have liked because this is my
first day I have been getting more to grips with were to begin and how I will achieve my
outcome with everything which is included in my planning, I haven’t yet to full complete a
page to my website but I have decided to start on my website because I believe this will take
me a lot more time.in tomorrows lesson I think I will be continuing to edit into my website
as I still wont have images to include so I have to work myself around this for now. I will
focus on all the pages I am including and my design layouts.

8. Thursday 7th April
In today’s lesson I have begin by putting together my front cover page to
my website having gathered a couple of
images I had taken I thought I could make a
start until I get all over the images, I will be
needing I did only manage to complete one
of the slide
layouts as I
did spend a
lot of time
on deciding
between
each
different
layout. I
began by
using photoshop and transferring the
images over from my email and then
using the magic tool to cut out both
backgrounds from the before images
shown below, as it didn’t look as
accurate, I did then use the lasso tool
to give a cleaner look and professional
because any smaller bits I missed I
could use this tool to clean up with. After I had done this, I transferred the images over to
my wix site and began to fit them onto the first slide I cropped a few of these to make the
images larger and duplicated some for the double effect to the image, I really liked this
outcome because it caught my attention straight away with the baby pink colour scheme
matching the models top. A strength from this so far is I m able to work a lot faster with the
editing process with photoshop because of my experiment work before in my problem-
solving PowerPoint and in general I feel like I have gained a lot of experience with this.
However, I think a weakness from this work would be spending a bit too much time with
deciding the type of layout plans I want to achieve which I could work faster if I plan this out
before the lesson or spend 10 minutes thinking exactly how I will lay out specific things. For
now, this is my plan however this may change throughout the whole of the production
process and in tomorrow’s lesson I will continue with my website and adding extra bits and
creating new things so far, I am happy with the outcomes although I do believe I can
improve more as the process goes on.

9. Friday 8th April
Final lesson before the easter
half term I had firstly decided I
wanted a bolder font for my
title to the website this was
because the first one I had
chosen wasn’t matching well
with my other font which I have
added to the front slide. (Font from dafont) I used photoshop for both the magic tool to
erase the background and the blending tools for a smoother font and harsher edges with
shadows added which was a benefit and looked a lot better than before. I then moved onto
adding this to my website and creating the design of the top of my website which was an
ongoing theme of white, black and a bit of pink as this is what appealed to my audience
type. I had a problem within this lesson because I realised there were a couple of other
types of images, I still needed to take for my work which fit in with specific themes and
backgrounds etc, so I had to go back to completing more of the designs to the website than
adding in the images. This did set me back because I feel Asif, I cannot picture how my
website will look without the images however I managed to continue with this. The last part
to my day I was editing smaller sections to the website such as the email and navigating my
website so that it will work correctly and there won’t be any type of errors. I did not feel like
I did achieve much today however in my next lesson I will be able to continue with more
photography and the website design itself, over the 2 weeks off will be a chance for me to
take more images which are needed and complete bits at home if needed for catching up
with planning.

10. (After easter) Wednesday 27th April
the first week back after
the Easter holidays I
continued with the design
of the home page on my
website, I did decide to full
change the layout because
when having two weeks off
I had been influenced from
many other websites and
with having more photos I was able to switch these up. I was a lot more confident in this
layout as before I was a bit unsure with the pink full background and I am going for more of
a settle look to my website. After this I
used the filter on the wix site and added
a grain affect to this picture above, and
then used a font which I mentioned in my
research the BEBAS font this is my
favourite one to use and is a large font
which will grab the attention. For my
shop new page, I wanted to gather a few pictures together which you could ‘shop at’ and
‘add to cart’ I did find this a weakness to start with because I was unsure how to edit onto
this page and when clicking on each image it wasn’t directing me to the exact page, to
resolve this I had a quick look onto YouTube for a tutorial with this in wix site and managed
to figure out what I needed to do – which was link each page together. I have also begun to
match my colour schemes in with the pink and white which I have noticed on my website
sometimes I find it hard to match the pink with every photograph I take but I have, managed
to split these bits up. Overall, I think I am currently working at a steady past and I am on
track with my website going through each pages soon I will then begin to start my Instagram
page which will link in with this.in tomorrows lesson I will continue with the wix site adding
more bits and pages which I have planned to add.
Thursday 28th April
Moving onto my next lesson today which I didn’t manage to get as much done as I would
have liked this is because I was struggling to get the correct image size for the images on the
strip which is included on my home page. This is because every time I would add an image it
would not fit the full home screen and the white background was still showing I didn’t like
this; however, I did have to keep cropping my images which was also another downfall to
this. Therefore, my image kept getting smaller and smaller each time and the quality was
becoming very pixelated. I did manage to figure this out which was the benefit to this by

11. creating one of the images on the strip to be smaller than the other which is shown below I
also think this turned out a lot more creative too. After I had done this, I moved onto
beginning my second page to the website which was the ‘shop new’ section I had only
managed to add in one of my images which I had edited using the lightroom because I think
adding more grain to an image makes the image look less blurry especially if I have to
enlarge an image. I was happy with the turn out to this because I had added a smaller font
which relates to the % off for the brand overall, I think today was a bit less successful than
other days to production, but I believe I have come across a few problems which I was able
to resolve.in my next lesson I will continue on with my website, I am also looking to get a
head start with my Instagram page because I feel I don’t want to leave this last minute and
not put as much effort in as my website shows.
Friday 29th April
At the end of Fridays lesson, I felt a lot more productive I had
managed to start up my very own Instagram account by doing
so I had an extra account from my Instagram so I felt it would
be best to use this one and I began by creating my profile
picture, to do this I used photoshop because I felt it would be
the best option for a title which was from dafont and I had just
added a simple pink background to match my colour scheme
theme. I then added blending options to make my font stand
out a lot more because I knew it would come up small when I
export it to my Instagram background page. It ended up fitting
well together and I then added my bio with a link for my
Instagram I found this easy because I’ve had previous
experience with Instagram and creating profiles. After I had
managed to add all of this in, I then went onto creating pages

12. from my research I had chosen to add in a lot of different quotes I felt this would be best to
start with because they take a lot longer than normal photos and I am also using Photoshop
to create these which I do not have at home. Therefore, I had to upload this to one drive to
transfer onto my phone which wasn’t an issue because it was quick, using these quotes I
had found from online I had created my own mini pages each page had my logo at the
bottom to keep the consistency and also my colour scheme of hints of pink throughout.
Today I am happy with everything I have managed to achieve in next week’s lesson I will
continue with the same method because I thin k this works well for me because I chose to
focus on both of my products not one more than the other.
Wednesday 4th may
A new week on Wednesday, I began by reflecting onto my
feedback for my problem solving I added in any updated
problems which I have been occurring within my production,
I found this helpful because logging in my updates shows my
process throughout my production and how I managed to
resolve any issues which I came across.
For this I added three pages in red text
to show they are improvements for my
tutor, this didn’t take me to long which
was a bonus for me because I could then
move straight back to my production
work which I did. Starting with my social

13. media page which I have drastically added a
lot more pictures too which I have taken I
am really happy with the social media page
so far I aimto add a lot more images to
make it look more detailed and eye catching
but I think the colour schemes I am using
mix in very well, for example the black is
used in various images mixed with the main
colour scheme of pink this looks
professional. Two of these images created
where on photoshop however I did have a problem with my photoshop image size because
when I uploaded them onto my Instagram, they looked blurry however I managed to sort
this issue out by asking my tutor for help with changing the size. In my lesson after lunch, I
began to switch my focus after spending
the morning on my social media to my
website and creating a new page which
was the Instagram shop page I loved the
outcome to this page it is eye catchy,
colourful and creative I added in different
types of image layouts which stood out to
me and fitted in well with my theme I then
added my Instagram social link again
because I felt this is necessary for an Instagram shop page to my website. This is everything I
managed to complete in today’s lesson which I believe I have been very productive and it’s a
great start to completing one of my improvements already, in tomorrow’s lesson I want to
focus on completing another page to my website and maybe any improvements if I have the
time too.
Thursday 5th may
In Thursdays lesson I began by
creating a new page to my website
which was going to be the about us
page which I opened the word document
page to re-type up just so I have all my
grammar and spelling check correct and to
make sure what I am typing up relates or
makes sense to my project, this did take a
while to complete however once I had
uploaded it to my website I didn’t have
much left for this page other than a font to
add in, image and pay scheme adding my

14. image in I picked an image of myself because I though this would be relevant and as I have
actually created this website it links well together. I added in a shadow around my image to
give it a better effect and stand out more whilst still being a small image, I then added in a
mini new pay scheme because I wanted people to see this as soon as they read the about us
however I didn’t want my about us to be too long because this could make my audience
become bored so I felt it was necessary to add in some images to even out my page. This
page took me up to lunch and throughout my other break so in my last lesson I decided to
do some more improvements and reflecting this time I made improvements to my
contextual research. I added in 5 new pages which were mainly focused on how these
people inspire my work and how I will include it into it which I think is something I was
missing before as I never mentioned how they would inspire me- I can now reflect to this
PowerPoint whilst still going through
production.in my next lesson which will be
tomorrow I will be just focusing on my
production work as I have spent a bit more time
on improvements and I don’t want to spend to
much time on this when I have a lot of
production work to get on with for both my
website and Instagram page.
