Work History
Maintenance Technician IV, 8/2016 to Present
SolarWorld USA-Hillsboro, Oregon
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, I am called upon to troubleshoot and train junior maintenance technicians on
complex electromechanical systems involving various tools and pieces of equipment. Troubleshooting motors, motor
drives, pneumatics, vacuum, conveyors, robotics, and heating systems using high precision measuring instruments,
ensuring all equipment is kept in a top operational and safe conditions for maximum output. Interfacing with
programmable logic controllers (PLCs) through the use of human machine interfaces (HMIs) to perform preventative and
corrective maintenance items. Reviewing open work orders and upcoming preventative maintenance items daily, I
disseminate a daily work list for the other technician on my shift. Following up before the end of the shift to ensure all
tools and equipment are operational, also ensuring the oncoming shift is fully prepared to begin their day and
knowledgeable on all events that took place since they were last on shift.
Maintenance Technician IV, 12/2015 to 8/2016
Cardinal Glass IG-Hood River, Oregon
As a Maintenance Technician, I am a member of a team that is responsible for ensuring plant systems operate efficiently
and safely. Setting up new equipment and using precision measuring instruments to ensure technical specification are
maintained at all times to produce a product that is guaranteed for 20 years. Performing preventative and corrective
maintenance items on tools and equipment. Answering troubleshooting service calls in a highly efficient manner while
working with the production team to identify and fix issues expeditiously. Using PLC program data, multimeters, and
mechanical experience to pinpoint and correct the issue to reduce equipment cost and downtime. Rebuilding or replacing
hydraulic pumps, mechanical pumps, electric motors and drives, and pneumatic system components to maintain the
equipment running at the optimal level at all times.
Chief Machinist Mate(Submarine)/ Ship Superintendent(Submarine), 08/2013 to 09/2015
US Navy – Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF)/ Pearl Harbor, HI
I was the liaison between the submarine ship’s crew and PHNSY&IMF civilian maintenance personnel. I was directly
responsible for managing five US Navy nuclear powered submarine ship’s crews and their every action during major
extended maintenance, repair, and refit availabilities. Directly managing each submarine ship's crew daily, to ensure that
all systems were safely locked out/tagged out and maintained in a safe maintenance ready condition for PHNSY&IMF
2. personnel to come onboard and perform extensive repairs and modifications to the ship. Coordinating over 1000
maintenance items, each availability, at a cost of over $3,000,000 per availability for 22 availabilities. Ensuring that all
maintenance items, both ship's force and PHNSY&IMF items, were completed satisfactorily to the highest degree, and
certifying the ship maintained its submarine safety certification (SUBSAFE) intact, allowing the ship to go to sea and
return home safely every time.
Machinist Mate First Class(Submarine)/Auxiliary Division Leading Petty Officer(ALPO), 04/2010 to 08/2013
US Navy – USS Louisville SSN-724/ Pearl Harbor, HI
As the ALPO, I was the direct supervisor for Auxiliary Division sailors who line-up, start, operate, secure, maintain,
troubleshoot, and repair all auxiliary and life support equipment onboard a US Navy nuclear powered submarine.
Auxiliary equipment systems include; oxygen, freshwater, seawater, high pressure and low pressure air, hydraulics,
sanitation, refrigeration, emergency diesel generator, fire fighting, and all damage control equipment. I daily monitoring
equipment operating and downtime logs, compiling equipment performance data, and analyzing the data using trend
analyses to catch and correct equipment issues before they become emergencies. As the Assistant Quality Assurance
Officer (AQAO), I administered, monitored, and maintained the SUBSAFE quality assurance maintenance system
onboard the submarine, ensuring all technical specifications and records were maintained and auditable at all times. This
guaranteed first time quality maintenance was performed at all times and ensuring the submarine and all personnel
aboard returned home safely from every mission performed. I was directly responsible to certify and track the training of
every member of the entire crew, ensuring that they maintained the knowledge, proficiency, and the ability to perform
maintenance to such a high degree.
Machinist Mate Second Class(Submarine)/Advanced SEAL Delivery System Maintainer, 01/2008 to 04/2010
US Navy – SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One/ Pearl City, HI
I was responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance items on a small surrogate submarine operated by the US
Navy SEALs. I ensured all diver safety, life support, oxygen, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems operated with absolute
assurance of excellence every time. As the qualified SUBSAFE Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI), if any maintenance
items I inspected and qualified as meeting every engineering and technical specification failed it would result in the
immediate loss of equipment and the lives of US Navy Divers and US Navy SEALs, because due to dimensional and
weight constraints most of the systems onboard had no backup.
Machinist Mate(Submarine)/Auxiliary Division Member, 06/2003 to 01/2008
US Navy – USS Hyman G. Rickover SSN-709/ Norfolk, VA
As a senior member of Auxiliary Division I was directly responsible for the daily actions of the junior members of
Auxiliary division. Daily monitoring their qualification process and ensuring their daily maintenance requirements were
completed. Members of Auxiliary Division are directly responsible for ensuring all ship's systems on board that are
required for life sustainability and ship's operations, are operated and maintained to the highest degree of readiness at all
times. Performing both preventative and corrective maintenance items on oxygen, freshwater, seawater , high and low
pressure air, hydraulic, sanitation, refrigeration, emergency diesel generator, and all damage control equipment and fire
fighting systems. Daily taking equipment operating logs and compiling equipment performance data. Qualified
Submarine SUBSAFE Quality Assurance Craftsman (Craftsman). The Craftsman is an individual trained in SUBSAFE
quality assurance maintenance methods and procedures (i.e., inspections, cleanliness, testing, and documentation) to
perform maintenance on the ship’s vital emergency systems and components ensuring all engineering and technical
specifications are maintained at all times.
