For almost five years at this company I had advanced thru many positions. My main duties were cutting for
Mohs surgery four to five days a week that included but are not limited to grossing, inking, mounting, cutting,
staining, cover slipping, and cleaning. I also handled supply ordering, slide filling, quality assurance, CLIA
inspections, and keeping up with the day to day situations. As new tasks approached I took on the
opportunity to learn them, such as, transcription, AP Easy lab program, sending out final reports, sending out
cases to other pathologists, and laboratory billing. While at this position I learned other duties in the office
to keep me educated, such as, front office clerk. Making appointments, preparing charts for the next day,
handling disgruntled patients, and keeping the front office organized. I trained with the medical assistants
and learned how to put patients in rooms, assist the provider with taking biopsies, write up prescriptions,
take blood pressure/pulse, clean rooms, organize samples, take patient phone calls, log in/out biopsy
results, and make follow up calls to patients. In Mohs surgical assisting I was trained to clean and sterilize
surgical instruments, prepare charts for upcoming surgeries, prepare suture for the provider and organize
the surgical spreadsheets. I have also worked with the administrative assistant on paying bills, typing up
memos, opening mail, and keeping organization. I am also proficient in Microsoft word, outlook, and excel.
