CHICAGO BRIDGE & IRON – HAVERHILL CHEMICALS
Formerly Sunoco Chemicals in Haverhill, Ohio, Haverhill Chemicals LLC began operating the former
Sunoco Inc. site in Haverhill, Ohio on November 1, 2011. We produce phenol, acetone, bisphenol A and
alpha methylstyrene at the 600+ acre site with a workforce of approximately 160 employees. The
Company’s sales, customer service, logistic, finance & accounting, IT and human resources are located at
their headquarters in Houston, Texas.
SITE MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – January 1999 to July 2015 (facility closure)
• Maintenance Supervisor of BPA, Phenol North, Phenol 3, Boiler Utilities, and Bio Waste Treat areas
of Sunoco Chemicals Haverhill facility.
• Worked in Reliability Engineering Group for Sunoco Chemicals for much of 2011 while assisting in
maintenance responsibilities also.
• Millwright General Foreman for all of Sunoco Haverhill site for more than 2 years while also doing
Supervisor work when needed, and was the day shift Supervisor for the 2007 Phenol 3 PMT.
• Coordinated and Supervised coal boiler rebuild at Sunoco Neal plant in March 2007.
• Millwright foreman for Jacobs at Sunoco Haverhill since 1999 while often working as Supervisor for
various PMT, major rebuilds, and new installation projects. During this time had a crew of 12
Millwrights maintaining various equipment including pumps, turbines, compressors, gearboxes, fans,
conveyers, and centrifuges.
• Participated in monthly Tripartite meetings consisting of contractors, customers, and building trades
business agents

• Worked as Millwright while also filling in as Foreman and Supervisor on PMT, major rebuilds, and
new installation projects.

JOURNEYMAN MILLWRIGHT January 1978 to January 1989
Responsible for unassembled equipment when it arrives at the job site. Use of hoisting and moving
equipment to position the pieces for assembly. Requires thorough knowledge of load-bearing capabilities
of the equipment as well as an understanding of blueprints and technical instructions. Ability to read
blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures, to construct foundations for and to
assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipment, using hand and power tools and to direct
workers engaged in such endeavors. The use of lathes, milling machines and grinders may to make
customized parts or repairs. Movement, assembly and installation of machinery and equipment such as
shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors, and tram rails, using
hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Also involved in routine tasks, such as lubrication of machinery, bearing replacement, seal replacement,
cleaning of parts during an overhaul and preventative maintenance.
Also required to have a good understanding of fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and all of the
components involved in these processes, such as valves, cylinders, pumps and compressors.
Required to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, at heights without fear; use of logical
step-by-step procedures in work; planning, solving problems and decision-making based on quantifiable
information.
Trained to work with a wide array of precision tools, such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators,
levels, gauge blocks, and optical and laser alignment tooling.
• Worked on numerous generator / turbine rebuilds for GE and Westinghouse. Worked on
pulverizers and various coal handling equipment. Also repaired and installed conveyers with
some vulcanizing.
• Directed complete rebuilds on various centrifugal compressors including Allis Chalmers,
Elliot, Joy, Centac
• Worked in auto assembly plants on monorail systems, some robotic installations.
• Worked on hydroelectric turbine / generator installation, also repaired and replaced gate
hoist machinery on Greenup Dam with welding certification approved by the Army Corp of
Engineers.
• Worked in steel mills in several states on various machinery including installation and
maintenance of continuous casters.
• Worked in paper mills in several states on paper machine rebuilds and new installations.
