The client has identified the product line manager role as a point of entry for general
manager-level succession planning. It is aimed that, in time, the successful candidate will be
prepared and promoted into a general manager-level position.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The product line manager is responsible for the product family profitability and product family
lifecycle from planning to tactical execution. This role is also viewed as a change agent to help
change the culture of product management as a function.
This product line manager will own a segment of the connectivity portfolio and set in place
strategic growth plan to achieve targets. They will drive and lead the introduction of a number
of products.
The position partners with R&D, product management, sales, operations, strategic marketing
and business development.
We are looking for:
• A high potential, not necessarily via mainstream leadership development
• International product management leadership experience in a technology environment
• Experience of either launching or turning around a product portfolio resulting in significant,
profitable growth
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement tools

INDIVIDUAL SPECIFICATION
Responsibilities and opportunities include:
• Quickly become the thought leader for the product line
• Effectively influence globally located sales and marketing teams
• Manage assigned product family and profitability growth globally
• Build and present business cases for new product development and project manage the launch of new
products to the market
• Partnering with a product manager in the Americas and one in APAC
• Partner with manufacturing plants in the Americas, Europe and one in APAC
• Product and solutions are becoming more and more global. Having a global mentality and international
experience is extremely important.
• Lead development that moves the business towards larger-scale solutioning
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities and develop positioning and growth strategy
• Serve as a cultural change agent progressing the business unit and related departments towards best
practice product management
• Shoulder responsibilities that form the basis of movement towards general management leadership

This role is also viewed as a change agent to help change the culture of product management as a function. This product line manager will own a segment of the connectivity portfolio and set in place strategic growth plan to achieve targets. They will drive and lead the introduction of a number of products. The position partners with R&D, product management, sales, operations, strategic marketing and business development.
