4. The Neighborhood Well "TNW" seeks to meet
the immediate needs of the homeless and
unstably housed communities in our
neighborhoods while creating a pipeline to other
organizations and resources that enable those
in need to achieve stability and long-term self-
sufficiency. While serving, we give
encouragement and support following the
teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our most critical goal has been to bring a
mobile shower to the District of Columbia
Metropolitan Area. In 2019, TNW raised over
$13,000 toward the purchase of a mobile
shower and is now preparing to purchase the
first mobile shower unit by the end of 2020.
Additionally, we developed partnerships with
Bombas; Community Crisis Services, Inc.;
Warm Nights; and gained new community
sponsors with local churches and organizations;
such as the United Methodist Women Northeast
Jurisdiction and Antoich Baptist Church of
Clinton, MD.

Speaking Engagements
The difficulties our neighbors face go well beyond the stereoptypes of poverty and
homelessness. Our board dedicated many weekends and weeknights to advocate
for our neighbors by educating community members on the realities of
homelessness in our area. Through these efforts, TNW gained five new community
sponsors and developed new partnerships with like-missioned organizations.
Communities Served
TNW has been committed to meeting neighbors exactly where they are. This year
we were able to connect with neighbors in D.C. wards 1, 2, 6, and 8, as well as,
neighbors from across Prince George’s County Maryland.

Blessing Bags Distributed
This year TNW has provided over 900 Blessing Bags with toiletries and everyday
essentials to neighbors in need. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our
neighbors found their lives more disrupted and in need of more assistance. TNW
was able to continue providing Blessing Bags and began arranging partnerships with
other local organizations to contiue to support the influx of need in fiscal year 2021.

TNW’s focus is always
to meet our neighbors right where
they are. Phase 1 of TNW operations was all
about finding our neighbors, listening to their needs,
and connecting with like-missioned community partners.
As we move forward, we will not only provide our neighbors with
blessing bags, but a safe, private, and accessbile place to refresh
with our Mobile Shower!
