1. m About
Ignite The Room is a band formed in 2021 by Jay Woods and Indy Finke. They
released their first single “Midnight” late December that year and earlier this
year they released their first ep “Something New” featuring their biggest hit and
title track along with others such as "Life Afraid" and "Uncontainable"
Our goal is to show our fans to not be afraid to be themselves, to not be afraid
to stand out and be unique no matter who they are

2. Interview script
(Introduction)
“Hello today I’m here with the guitarist for Ignite the Room.”
How did you start your band?
It was funny. It started with us playing video games and listening to music one night. As we were playing
we were casually discussing different things such as the lockdown or what we want to do in the future.
One of the things she said was that she wanted to sing, either as a solo artist or in a band and that just
happened to be something I wanted to do for a while as well. So we kinda just said “shall we start one?"
and since then we’ve been writing and playing music.
Where did your band name come from?
We thought of the band name on the day we started thinking of forming the band. As we were playing
the game, we threw a grenade into one of the buildings on the map and I said “igniting the room” as I
threw it. She jokingly said “hey that could be a good name for the band” but we both actually loved the
idea and went with that, and it stuck.
Where did you get the idea for the song from?
I got the idea one night while playing guitar. I was playing a song I learned a while ago and just kept
playing that until I thought “hey, I’ve played this for a while, maybe I could learn something new, and I
just ran with that. I called Indy and said hey I got an idea for a new song.” It probably took a few days
maybe a week to write it. Yeah about that long. And then we recorded it and yeah.
Did anything change from when you started making the video to how it looks now?
Yes, quite a bit changed. Originally, we were just gonna have a friend of mine play the boss but decided
to instead have an older person play the boss to stand out more as a different character and to allow the
audience to relate more. Also, the part before the last chorus “We strike the match…” part we were
going to originally just have everyone’s shadows lip syncing on a different coloured background. But
decided against that as it wouldn’t have fitted with the energy of the rest of the video and may have
seemed a bit out of place.
