Desserts to make your winter sweeter
During winter, desserts aren’t usually the most famous
among food items. However, Javier Burillo shares some
recipes that go against the norm while providing us with the
Christmas spirit.
Christmas Blondies
As the name might suggest, these baked goods emanate the
colors of joy while being perfectly golden brown. In a large
bowl, hand mix 1 1/2 butter, half a cup brown, and a cup of
white sugar, then add 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
and combine well. In another bowl, sift 2 cups of all-purpose
flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, and half a teaspoon of
salt. Mix well and combine wet and dry ingredients. After
mixing both, add in M&Ms and chocolate chips. Put in a
preheated 350* Fahrenheit oven and bake for 25-30 mins.
Cool and cut into squares for serving.
Cookies and Milk Pie
What better way to celebrate winter than with some cookies
and milk in a different form? For this recipe, you’ll want to
start by mixing a container’s worth of whipped cream and
mini chocolate chips. After, crush some cookies using a
rolling pin and patting it down your container of choice. Layer on the top half of your whipped
chocolate cream and add another layer of cookies on top. Finally, layer your remaining whipped
cream, sprinkle some cookie crumbs on top and refrigerate for 2 hours. Javier Burilo describes this
dessert as very nostalgic and childish even.
These desserts all capture the essence of winter and
are perfect for eating by the fire, with family, or by
yourself. Javier Burillo shares that these desserts are
also perfect for having feelings of nostalgia in your
own winter wonderland.
