 Many social media companies sell our information to business as they gain money from this by
advertising.
 Social media effects every family that has access to it, many children are begin raised by cell phones.
These children are begin taken advantage of because of social media.
 Social media effects children the most as it make us change our lives based on out social media, as we
want to show everyone how we live but we don’t feel happy when doing it.
 There has been an increase in depression and anxiety since social media has been created.
 Generation z is the first generation to be raised by social media and there has been an increase in
suicide because of social media.
 We see different things then other see as we each have a profile that we don’t even know exist, google,
Instagram, snapchat and many other businesses sell our profiles to company for money as they can
use our data to target our likes.
 Social media needs to have more codes and regulation and find another way to make money as they
get money for giving our privacy profile.
 Laws and regulations need to be created in order to help our society.
 We are more profitable for spending more time on our phones instead of our lives.
 We need to change our lives, we built social media and we have the responsibility to change it.
 We can demand to make these products more humane.
 Social media had a failure of leadership as they did not acknowledge their failures.
The Social Dilemma Documentary
Notes
During watching this
documentary I noticed they had a
story line, interviews and
montages over voices in order to
keep the views engaged with the
documentary. I really like how
they had a storyline of a typical
family but how all of them are
effected by technology and social
media. I realised that they would
merge clips so they would
flawlessly transition together so
you could not even tell they would
also cross fade to show clips over
the voice edits so they still know
who is talking. They also use
convention of a tv show or movie
with the storyline of the family.

Showing the life of a mobile phone during the documentary,
meaning I will have to collect footage of :
• Using mobile phone at breakfast , lunch & dinner
• Show using mobile phone while watching tv
• Show using phone while sitting down
• Show texting on phone during dinner
• Show using mobile phone outside
• Showing using mobile phone while listening to music
• Show talking on a mobile phone
• Show doing work while on mobile phone
• Someone on the phone while on the bus
• Person on the phone ignoring people
In order to create a montage about technology and society, I will
have to collect clips of;
• People texting on phones
• People using computers
• People using phones
• People talking on phones
• Cars going past ( sped up)
• People typing on keyboards
Interview Clips

• People bumping into each
other while messaging other
people
• Person sitting looking around
at everyone on their phone
• People ignoring each other
due begin distracted
Get an interview with a teenagers who sees the effect on
technology that has on society and how feels passionate
about changing the power it holds on us.
Ask question about how they feel, how they think technology
effects us and how we can change that by.
Have interview with a dark background to set a serious tone
for the documentary.
