1. MDMF DPGI v 2.0 Presentation

2.  What is the MDMF DPGI Product? MDMF stands for
the MDM Framework now in it’s fourth version called
MDMF DPGI. This is an HTML based product. The
DPGI stands for Data Management (D), Business
Process (P), Information Governance (G) and
Infrastructure Architecture (I).
 The original MDMF Product has been greatly expanded
to now include not only the original Data Pyramid but
Pyramid Structures for Business Process, Information
Governance and Infrastructure Architecture.
 Each Pyramid Structure can be implemented
separately or in combination to the other Pyramids that
are inter-related thru a Enterprise Metadata Repository
of the client’s choice or using the built in Repository.

3.  Each Pyramid has one or more associated Life Cycle
(related to a Master SDLC), primary Roles for the Tasks
within the Pyramid and standardized Artifact Templates
produced from the Life Cycle Tasks.
 A common set of Templates and Artifacts are included for
the built-in Enterprise Metadata Repository (EMR) that can
be tailored for another EMR in use by a client.
 The Templates act as a standard source for the collection of
Metadata produced by each Pyramid and inputted into the
EMR based on the Life Cycle in use for that Pyramid.
 The power of the MDMF DPGI Product is providing a
common standardized way to Collect, Relate & Store all of
the Metadata being produced from each Pyramid to provide
a sound foundation for the Business Community to based
their decisions on.

5.  Each Pyramid has six levels that are generally
functionally related to each other on the same level.
 Level One is the DOMAIN Level
 Level Two is the CONCEPTUAL Level
 Level Three is the LIFE CYCLE and POOL level
 Level Four is the PROCESS Level
 Level Five is the MODEL Level
 Level Six is the PHYSICAL Level
 Standardizing the Functionality across Levels in each
Pyramid allows the Pyramids to be inter-related thru
the Enterprise Metadata Repository in an consistent
organized manner.

7.  The Data Pyramid has the Enterprise Data Domain
Mode (EDDM) that is the model that defines all of the
Data Domains that exist within an organization.
 The Business Process Pyramid has the Enterprise
Business Domain Model (EBDM) that defines all of
the Business Domains for an organization.
 The Information Governance Pyramid has the
Information Governance Domain Model (IGDM)
which defines all of the domains contained within the
Information Governance influence.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid has the
Infrastructure Architect Data Interface (IADI) that
defines all of the data interfaces with the tools,
applications and hardware storage.

8.  The Data Pyramid has the Enterprise Conceptual Data
Model (ECDM) a high level unattributed entity relationship
diagram for the entire organization.
 The Business Process Pyramid has the Enterprise
Business Context Model (EBCM) which defines the major
business functionality and their relationships for an
organization.
 The Information Governance Pyramid has the Information
Governance Structure Model (IGSM) identifying how the
Information Governance Organization is structured within an
organization.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid has the
Infrastructure Architecture Application Interface (IAAI)
which defines the application interface with the tools and
hardware storage at all levels of the organization.

9.  The Data Pyramid contains the Enterprise Data
Object Model (EDOM) having the Life Cycles and
Pools for Base Data Elements & Entities and Global
Reference Data.
 The Business Process Pyramid has the Enterprise
Business Rule Repository (EBRR) and the Business
Life Cycles for the organization.
 The Information Governance Pyramid defines the
information related Policies & Standards (IGPS) for
the organization.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid contains the
Infrastructure Architecture Repository Layer (IARL)
that defines metadata for hardware, tools, application
interface, data interface and networks.

10.  The Data Pyramid has the Pool for the Normalized
Data Models (NLDM) a third normal form data model
using business named attributes.
 The Business Process Pyramid contains the Business
Process & Rule Application (BRA) swim lane
diagrams where the process/rules are applied to the
data.
 The Information Governance Pyramid has the
Information Governance Processes (IGP) for how all
Life Cycle Artifacts are validated by the organization.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid is the
Infrastructure Architecture Tool Layer (IATL) defines
the tool environment related to the hardware and
application environments across the organization.

11.  The Data Pyramid contains the Pool for the Physical
Data Models (PDM) which is the Physical
Representation for the Normalized Logical Data Model.
 The Business Process Pyramid has the Business
Process & Rule Verification (BRV) ensuring that all
Business processes & Business Rules are applied
correctly to a Business Function.
 The Information Governance Pyramid has the
Information Governance Quality (IGQ) functions for
validating Information Governance Life Cycle reviews.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid contains the
Infrastructure Architecture Hardware Layer (IAHL)
providing the hardware environment layout across the
organization.

12.  The Data Pyramid has the Physical Data Structure
Models (PDSM) the DDL representation for a Physical Data
Model.
 The Business Process Pyramid contains the Tools for the
Business Intelligence (BI) environment a knowledge
worker uses to collect & analyze information for the
organization.
 The Information Governance Pyramid provides the
Information Governance Reports (IGR) that are the
published standards generally available to the whole
organization.
 The Infrastructure Architecture Pyramid provides the
Infrastructure Architecture Network Layer (IANL) the
detailed specification for the hardware and network
connections to the tools.
