The Scotch Whisky Association relocated their Edinburgh office to a new city center development. AKP Scotland was hired to fit out the new office space over 8 weeks. They constructed meeting rooms, kitchens, and storage areas to change the open plan space. Bespoke joinery features included a wall displaying whisky types and a reception desk. The project was delivered on time and under budget.

The Scotch Whisky Association’s role is to advance the global interests and
profile of Scotch Whisky, their members and of the industry as a whole.
Scotch Whisky Association had sold the Edinburgh townhouse & re-located
to a modern city centre development at The Quartermile in Edinburgh. Akp
Scotland were successfully chosen to act as Principal Contractor & carry out
the fit out works.
Work consisted of changing the existing open plan first floor office space
into & modern corporate headquarter. Acoustic plasterboard partitions
were constructed to form meeting rooms, kitchen, mailroom, comms room
storage areas, breakout zones & the main board room. Double glazed glass
partitions were also used to front the rooms, whilst maintaining sound
integrity. Mechanical service alteration took place to ensure comfort
cooling & ventilation to the new rooms. Electrical alteration consisted of
feature dimmable lighting throughout, fire alarm alterations, power & data
links. Breakout area & kitchen areas have been designed as an area to relax
& feature colours used for flooring & walls. A large element of the project
was the bespoke joinery. A feature wall was constructed used timber, glass
& LED lighting to display the various type of whisky manufactures that the
company represent. This was finished with feature graphics to the walls,
depicting the routes of the whisky trade. The reception area had bespoke
reception desk, coat store & feature lighting installed. The office area was
finished with flooring & decoration.
The project was challenging due to the quick start & entry date from our
client. The project was successfully delivered in eight weeks & to the
satisfaction of the client, under budget.
