I am a hardworking, highly motivated and experienced laboratory
support worker having developed an understanding of laboratory work by
achieving many skills relevant to laboratory work (Medical Laboratory
Assistant). I possess excellent communication and interpersonal

Career Summary
LF Beauty.Microbiologist. October 2014 to present.
I started working in the Quality Control Laboratory as a Quality
Control technician where I was responsible for adjusting the products
that were being made in the factory.
Ph levels,virosity,dye mixing and matching all had to be in
specification working withclosly with the sop's.
I later transfered to the Microbiology Labratory where I am at
present in charge of the making of the media for all our mould and
yeast testings,monitoring stock levels dealing with chemists and
autoclaving the waste.
DNA Worldwide.Customer Support Officer.October 2013 to7th July 2014
My role with DNA worldwide was varied from phoning new clients from
leads and setting up cases ranging from legal Immigration. Hair and
drug testing and paternity testing,I arranged appointments with
Doctors,Solicitors, and Social workers here in the UK and in many
countries abroad and relay everything back to the clients in emails
and phone calls.
I processed Dog and Ancestry reports,Processed and send out new web
orders.
Worked alongside a drug rehabilitation centre adding patients’
details, issuing results and reports.
2. We had many Clients phone in wanting DNA information and purchasing
tests so I answered the calls,set up accounts and took payments; then
again arrange doctor’s appointments worldwide.
Other calls can be complaints,solicitors needing advice, current
concerns existing cases.
These can take anything from a few minutes to deliver the service
of DNA's high standards to anything overan hourif required.
You needed to have patience and a kind nature as many of these clients
might be from other countries.
Another one of my responsibilities help where possible with nurse’s
contracts,recruiting and invoicing both nurses and solicitors.
Also to cover colleagues cases when absent.
Wyke Farms.Laboratory Technician.April 19th 2013 to 2nd August 2014
Initially employed through Manucomm recruitment to cover one month
sickness leave.
I mainly worked alone in a busy Laboratory and meeting the needs of
urgent daily testing and urgent testing as and when required.
Responsible for testing vat samples of maturing cheese,butter and milk
for local product in the cheese industry.
Main responsibilities.
Testing of Solids, Gerbers,flourphos,acdity,pH levels,keeping quality
of milks from local dairy farms.Testing of milk samples from cows for
any remaining traces of antibiotics used for production.
Calibration and monitoring temperatures and of all vats and tanks on
site.
Calibration and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Recording test results then adding data input on Scarda.

Energen Biogas.Site Technician.29th September 2011 -12th May 2012
I was employed through manpower to implement the development and
sampling within the laboratory, involving the monitoring and
collection of samples from storage tanks containing food waste that is
converted into biogas.
These prepared samples (for the mother company in the
Netherlands),were sent as part of my duties three times a week.
3. Tank levels and readings had to be taken recorded and required input
onto spread sheets and data input onto the main computer where people
can view the readings internationally.Any important test results were
e mailed to designated managers as a matter of urgency.This allowed me
to develop further my communication skills.
Once the food has been converted into gas I took daily gas reading and
logged this data from my readings gaining experience of data logging
and the importance of attention to detail.
My duties also included the monitoring and calibration of laboratory
equipment, also with responsibility for monitoring stock levels and
ordering supplies.
New Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P’S) had to be written on all
the tests,equipment and any processes carried out.Any potential
client’s food waste requiring testing was my responsibility and it was
necessary that I decided what tests were needed and
performed,reporting my findings accurately and in a timely manner.My
interpretive and judgemental skills were essential to succeed and
clear thinking and articulate ensuring any task was completed to a
quality and high standard essential for customer care and focus.
Heamonetics. Quality Control Technician.29th March 2011-21st April
2011
This was a temporary position organised through Manpower working in a
clean room to EMP standards.This required the examination of products
used in blood bank.I supervised one colleague and liaised with the
Quality Manager based in the United States,faxing him reports on a
daily bases with my findings.
Severn Trent Services, Sampling Technician. October 2010, 26th March
2011
My role as a sampling Technician involved the testing of gases and
taking leachate and ground water samples from boreholes. My clients
were based and located around Scotland particularly Aberdeen.I visited
and tested sights on a monthly,bimonthly and quarterly basis.
I arranged my own transport hire and booking of hotels, ensuring I had
calculated tide times and read maps to locate and take samples showing
that I was able to organise my work and take responsibility for my own
actions.Once I had completed monitoring the gas readings and leachate
and water samples I organised and made sure a carrier was able to
collect and deliver to our laboratories in Coventry.
I transferred all the monitoring data onto a spread sheet which is
then sent to the client developing computing skills and understanding
data handling.

receiving of other samples from clients arranging of pickup and
delivery of water samples and other office dutie
Environmental Scientific Group. Laboratory Analyst. February 2010-
July 2010
I started working in the Organics Laboratory preparing the soils and
waters for analysing, looking for signs of contamination, mainly
Gasoline, Diesel and Mineral Range.
I was given the opportunity to work in the clean room where I was
responsible for the filters for clients. This involved conditioning of
the clean filters,setting up clean runs and sending out cassette
cartridges for testing.
When the contaminated filters were returned I was responsible for the
setting up and weighing of the filters.
Once finalised,I analysed the results I then prepared and sent out the
reports for clients.
I was required to input data entries of the filter weighing system and
performed other laboratory duties, such as sterilising the Knox
cartridges and then setting up Knox runs. Unfortunately the Laboratory
came under new ownership, and re-located.

I worked in the Molecular unit of the NPHS Microbiology Department in
Cardiff,where we worked to CPA and UKAS standards.I was responsible
for the preparation and allocation of reagents. The laboratory tasks
I performed included, stocktaking and the ordering of laboratory
consumables. Each day I was responsible for the scheduling of
laboratory equipment for example the Easymag extraction machine.I also
dealt with work in the specimen reception involving the processing of
clinical samples,sending specimens to other reference
laboratories,prioritising samples into urgent categories, paying
attention to detail and following strict Health and Safety
protocols.Computer based work included data entry,report printing and
recognising miss matches from data sent by other hospitals.I assisted
with ensuring the laboratory ran efficiently and smoothly.I have also
worked in the Virology and Hepatitis section of the laboratory where I
was trained and competent to work in the cell culture laboratory for a
period of six months developing skills with tissue culture and aseptic
work techniques.
