Communicating well consists of two parts: expressing yourself and
listening to others.
Listening can be very challenging. It comes naturally to very few
people , so to improve you must be more intentional.
There is difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is
simply the process of absorbing sound. Listening is focus
voluntary , and intentional.
5. Listening or Hearing
Hearing is an accidental and automatic brain response to sound
that requires no effort.
Listening , on the other hand , is purposeful and focused rather
than accidental.
Listening , at it’s best , is active , focused , concentrated attention
for purpose of understanding in the meaning , expressed by a
speaker.
Listening should not be taken for granted.
