2. DIGITAL STRATEGY
• Vision for Coventry to be a Digital Place:
“Infrastructure, digital innovation and data are promoted within
the city to deliver economic growth and public service reform.”
• Coventry Core: 140km fibre optic network connecting over 300 sites
across Coventry including council buildings, schools, hospitals and
GP surgeries.
• Coventry Core and Full Fibre Networks being extended to reach more
homes and businesses.
• Growing demand for digital services, many innovative new digital
services being developed as shown by our ERDF Innovation
Programme.
• Various initiatives in the near future will improve connectivity and full
3. FULL FIBRE NETWORK PROGRAMME PILOT
• Coventry & Warwickshire chosen to be one of the pilot areas for the
Government’s Local Full Fibre Network Programme.
• Currently progressing through an assurance process to deliver a
Gigabit Voucher Scheme.
• Aiming to launch by end of October.
• Encourage SMEs to take gigabit capable connections.
• Target areas include: City Centre, Bayton Road Industrial Estate,
Binley Business & Industrial Estate, Coventry Business Park &
Torrington Industrial Estate.
• It is one part of our greater aim to win funds to roll out more full
fibre infrastructure.
4. BENEFITS TO BUSINESSES AND HOMES
• Delivering the full programme will bring infrastructure closer to more
businesses and homes through connecting more public assets
around Coventry & Warwickshire.
• Then, a voucher scheme to reduce the installation costs for SMEs.
• Better connectivity will help bring greater productivity and growth.
• Businesses and residents will generate and use greater levels of data
and expect greater levels of service, cloud based computing will be
more common.
• The world is going digital, manufacturers need the infrastructure to
embrace digitisation, 4IR.
• Workforces can become more flexible with greater connectivity
reliability and ability to work remotely.

• Extension of the full fibre network, more high speed capability.
