Personal Experience
I am an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys backpacking, fishing, boating, snow shoeing, skydiving,
rock-climbing, scuba diving, nature photography and riding all-terrain vehicles. I am proficient
at map reading and land navigation. I am able to use a GPS to navigate as well, though I prefer a
compass and map. I hope to pursue avalanche training, ice climbing and mountaineering
training as offered by Sports Climbing schools. My latest personal backpacking goal is learning
how to be a minimalist. That is to pack as few items as possible to travel with on a multiple day
hike. I have carried as much as 80 lbs. while hiking and would like to get under 10 lbs.
