projects all of which were rated highly by the project sponsor and met time, budget and profitability
targets. Primary responsibility for presales; negotiating the contacts; closing the sale; resourcing with
internal and external consultants and contractors; testing and final handover. Delivered wide scale
technology implementations using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Projects for BHP; Shell;

This is a suite of 11 integrated software modules that manages investment portfolios and automates the trading of
financial instruments on the world's stock and commodities exchanges. It incorporates machine learning technology
(AI) and runs 24/7 on dedicated sets of IBM servers in geographic dispersed locations. This project is now complete.
PreRetail Product portfolio manager | Integration architect | CEO | MD Oct 2002 – Jun 2004
This is a suite of 13 stand alone software modules that together provide all the functionality required by organisations
that supply goods to retailers. E.g. Manufacturers; wholesalers; distributors etc. This business was sold.
Winworx General manager | Sales manager | CEO | MD May 2000 – May 2004
This business marketed, installed, provided training and support for the Achieve and Achieve Qests software products
which allowed clients to manage their Quality certifications, Environmental and OH&S obligations. Over 4 years the
software was implemented by over 250 corporate clients. This business was sold.
SelfixServers Technical lead | Sales manager | CEO | MD | Founder Jul 2001 – Oct 2003
A very resilient system of hardware and software tailored for small to medium sized organisations. A very cost effective
and functionally rich network server as the perfect base for the client’s LAN. This business was sold.
JAKE Consulting Director | CEO | MD | Co-Founder Mar 1993 – Sep 2003
JAKE was a medium sized IT consultancy with 3 offices, 100s of clients, a portfolio of over 100 completed software
development projects and over 1000 other IT consulting projects. Revenue grew better than 40% pa compound for over
10 years predominately through repeat business, customer referrals, insightful sales strategies and planning and a clear
understanding of professional services. In 2003 the professional services was tapered out so that new business
opportunities could be developed. This business provided the cash flow, most of the human resources and the
customer feedback that made the SelfixServers, Winworx and PreRetail businesses possible.
JAKE Computing Excellence Director professional services | GM | Founder Feb 1990 – Feb 1993
This business sold, setup, configured, installed and delivered IBM and compatible computers and networked them using
the Novell Netware product. The computers were bought from wholesale suppliers and configured to suit client needs.
This business folded into JAKE with the hardware retailing part phased out as it became less profitable.
Technology Interface General Manager | Co-Founder Mar 1988 – Dec 1989
This business was probably the first computer retail store within a store (SaaS) in Australia. The 51% shareholder/co-
founder (Billy Guyatts) acquired 100% of this business and absorbed it into their normal operations.
InstallTec Senior consultant | General manager | Founder Jul 1985 – Dec 1989
This business was founded while I was in my 2nd year of a computer science degree at Monash University.
At the time businesses were joining up to bulletin boards such as CompuServe and connecting via dial up modems.
There was an opportunity to assist businesses who were having difficulty connecting to such services. This business was
sold to the staff in order to concentrate on setting up JAKE Computing Excellence.
