2. Purpose of research
• The purpose of research is to gather information and get an
understanding of the target market or product. This
information can be used when generating ideas for the final
advert, this means that the advert will be more appealing to
the audience and they will me more interested when watching
it.
• Conducting more than one type of research will mean that the
results are more accurate and will be better suited to the
product. These types of research include: questionnaire, focus
group and online research.
3. Primary research
• Primary research is research that you have collected
yourself, examples of primary research include focus
groups, and questionnaires.
• The pros of primary are that it is research that you have
conducted yourself so you can ask the questions that are
relevant to you and your product.
4. Secondary research
• Secondary research Is research that you get from an other
source for instance books or if you get the information from
another focus group or questionnaire.
• This research is useful if another source has already found out
the information that you want. Finding secondary research is
easier to find than primary research because the information
is already there.
