I spoke with Josh at South Vinyl and he stated the following: “We don’t do
consignment here in our shop. We feel it’s better to buy the album outright instead
having to worry about keeping track o
ff
what the album sold over an extended period
of time. In case some out of town artist comes in years later asking for returns on the
album.”

7. SWAG
Swag is de

ned as those items that are given to client, employees, or customers at no cost to
them. Those items could be t-shirts, hats, co
ff
ee mugs, wireless chargers, and even
fi
tness gear.
Companies use swag to entice buyers to purchase their product. In 2019, DJ Khaled threatened
to sue billboard because it didn’t count 100,000 records he soled because he bundled it with an
energy drink. I referenced DJ Khaled to show how giving away swag could work against you.
