4. COMPANY PROFILE
• Groz-Beckert is the world’s leading provider of industrial machine needles, precision
parts and fine tools, as well as systems and services for the production and joining of
textile fabrics. All around the world, the products and services support the textile
processes of knitting and warp knitting, weaving, felting, tufting, carding and sewing.
• The company, founded in 1852, employs more than 9,000 people and turned over
about 745 million euro in 2018.
• Everything comes together at the headquarters in Albstadt, Germany. The family-
owned company also has further production sites in Germany, Belgium, the Czech
Republic, Portugal, the USA, India, China, and Vietnam. Numerous sales affiliates
and sales partners complement the international presence.

5. HISTORY
• 1852
• In Ebingen, today a suburb of Albstadt, Theodor Groz founds the company Theodor
Groz. He sells fashion accessories and toys, and has a needle manufacturing
business next door.
• 1852
• As early as his company's year of foundation, Theodor Groz starts manufacturing
warp knitting needles for hosiery production.
• 1867
• Theodor Groz writes his "Technical Testament" – a highly detailed instruction book on
how to manufacture steel, stocking and hinged needles to "the most unparalleled
quality".

6. HISTORY
After then, they came with many invention to the textile industry.
Now at 2017
Effective 2 January 2017 Groz-Beckert takes over the Ferd. Schmetz Group. The
Ferd. Schmetz Group is a long-established producer of industrial and household
sewing machine needles and has around 700 employees worldwide.
The success continues still today.
