(A Brief profile)
Marine Engineer by profession, Mr. Jai P. Minocha joined Shipping Corporation of
India in 1975 after completion of his graduation in Mechanical Engineering. And
elevated to the rank of Chief Engineer in the year 1981. Sailed with SCI, NITC &
NOL. (Sailed on ULCCs, OBOs, Oil Tankers and most modern Container
Vessels, with high quality of automation)
Mr Minocha took up shore assignment in the year 1989, have diversified experience
in the field of Ship Construction,Ship repair& Technical management of ships.
Experience in Project management from bidding stage to execution at senior
position in the field of oil, Chemical and Petrochemical industries.
Year 2001, Mr. Minocha opted for Maritime Training & Education as his career.
Training became his passion. Training Experience:
Adjunct Faculty with TMI & BITS Pilani joint venture (2001 -2008): A Distance
learning programme for Deck officer (Diploma & B.S studies). Involved in
development of Technical modules and monitoring the performance.
Course Coordinator at T.S Rehaman (2008 -2009): Handling B.S nautical for
Deck officers & Ratings. And also involved in selection of Senior Engineers for
panama flag vessels.
Sr. Facilitator Training (Engineering) at Wallem maritime Training Centre:
Joined in year 2009. Involved in development of various high profile courses (MAN
B&W ME Engine, Wartsila RT-flex Engine, Installation & commissioning of ERS
Techsim 5000 Advance ERRM, OSACP and updating various VACs) & nurturing
excellence to the fleet officers. And also helps Fleet personnel in selection of
Engineers & promotion.

 Mr. Minocha is a Fellow member of the Institute of Marine Engineer;
Member of Institution of Engineers & also Associate member of Institute of
Insurance & Loss Assessor.
 D.O.B: 31st July 1950 At: Jabalpur (M.P)
 Training of Trainers and Assessor Certificate: 398, awarded on 8th of
December 2001 by M.T.I (SCI) on successful completion.

2.  Holding Class I (Chief Engineer) Certificate of Competency along with all
course required as per STCW convention.
 Mr. Minocha has been honoured as “Charter Engineer” by Institution of
Engineers, India
 Member in the Advisory Board of the School of Maritime & Ocean Studies”,
The Neotia University
 Member of Institution of Engineers.
 Mrs. Jyoti Minocha (wife) an Insurance advisor & Trainer for Art of Living.
Sidharth Minocha (Son), Vessel manager with NYK Lines, Singapore. Suchita
Minocha Gupta (Daughter), Child psychologist. Both children married & well
settled.

Past Experience in Operationsas follows:
General Manager HMG Shipping: Ship repairs yard & onshore offshore projects in
the field of Ship construction, oil & Petrochemicals till 1994.
CEO of Mercator Lines (1994 – 1999): Overall Technical & Commercial
management of the fleet and also handling new projects. Implementation of ISM
Code.
Senior Vice president of SKS Logistic (2008 -2009): Technical management of
fleet vessels. Dry docking & major repairs. Training officer & crew as required by
STCW convention.
