3. What We Can Improve
Three things the firm should consider changing in order to stand out amongst competitors:
1. Adjust the Instagram handle to say “Oppenheimer” rather than “Let’s Talk Future.”
• We found that clients (and employees) may not be able to find our Instagram page. This may be
because the name Oppenheimer is not in the handle, nor the biography. Most people search for a
company name when looking for an account and without “Oppenheimer” in either, the account will
not appear when searching.
2. Include all content on Instagram, not just the podcast.
• By curating a more diversified feed, it will allow Oppenheimer to better compete with other firms.
Rather than just solely posting about the podcast, we should be following the direction our
competitors are going in as them seem to be getting more traction on Instagram than us. By this
we mean none of them have an Instagram account solely dedicated to one topic.
3. Add a visual component to the podcast.
• There are several potential uses of a video component to the podcast:
a) First, it provides more content to post on social media platforms.
b) We could potentially see an increase in user traffic as the podcast would be more interactive
and more interesting for clients/potential clients to tune in to.
c) Last, it provides an opportunity to use Instagram reels, YouTube Shorts and/or TikToks to
promote not only Let’s Talk Future™, but the firm in general.
