3. RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL THE OFFICERS
• Fill their position from July 1 to June 31 (This is the Toastmasters year)
• Attend the Toastmasters Leadership Institute Twice a year (One between June 1
and August 31 and one between December 31 and February 28)
• Be available for any questions that any members or prospective members may have.
• Attend any officers meeting that the President may schedule
• Attend any Area or District meetings as required (this does not include the
Secretary, Treasurer, or Sargent of Arms)
• Be a positive role model and leader for club members
4. PRESIDENT
• Preside over meetings
• Keep in contact with other officers for progress reports on any project they are
working for the club
• With the help of the VPE motivate members to be working on their educational
awards
• Plan the business portion of the meeting
• Attend and vote at area and district council meetings
5. VICE PRESIDENT OF EDUCATION (VPE)
• Plan agenda for each week’s meeting and make sure it is sent out to the members in
a timely manner and upload it to the First ToastHoast website (our club’s individual
website)
• Plan speech contest twice a year
• Manage mentoring program
• Submit education awards on the Toastmasters International Website
• Assist members with achieving educational awards
• Work with members and see what pace they are wanting to go with their educational
goals and plan them in the schedule accordingly
6. VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBERSHIP (VPM)
• Recruit new members
• Set up membership campaigns to help build interest
• Assist guests at meetings making sure that they have a new member packet
• Submit new membership applications on the Toastmasters International website
• Submit new member’s information of the First ToastHoast website
• Induct new members into the club
7. VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
(VPPR)
• Publicize the club
• Manage social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter)
• Act as webmaster for First ToastHoast website
• Make sure club is following trademark requirements for Toastmasters International
8. SECRETARY
• Take notes at the meeting
• Keep minutes for the business portion of the meeting
• Maintain files and records for the club
9. TREASURER
• Oversee financial accounts for the club
• Collect membership dues twice a year (October 1 and April 1)
• Pay any bills the club may have
• Keep records organized the case of an audit of the club by Toastmasters
International
10. SERGEANT AT ARMS (SOA)
• Set up and tare down the meeting space each week as needed
• Track any supplies ordered by the secretary
• Make sure that all there are adequate supplies that may be needed (e.g. new
membership pins)
• Coordinate club meetings and keep in contact with person at meeting site for use of
the room

• Is required for achieving Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB)
• Networking opportunities not only within the club but also outside of it
• New learning and leadership experiences
