2. Technical requirements for the music
◦ We will be using:
◦ Two state of the art speakers
◦ Two phono stages
◦ 1 Rega briosh amp
◦ 1 Rega ten record player
This equipment will be provided
to give the best possible quality
sound for the records
3. Musical props
3 albums will be required, they will convey a diverse set of ideologies and ethnic backgrounds stemming from a variety of genres.
The records themselves will be either; fully analogue cut, a digital transfer or standard digital album. This will be done so that the
participants can guess which ones are which. One record will be an all analogue blue note jazz record such as; Moanin by Art
Blakey, Midnight Blue by Kenny Burrell, or Back at the chicken shack by Jimmy Smith. Additionally one record from a local retailer
to convey the idea of supporting smaller businesses and 1 record from a major retailer such as Rough trade in London will be used
to give a rounder number of genres and styles.
4. Additional required props
◦ Chairs for the contestants
◦ Microphones for the two hosts, will possibly be pinned to their lapels
◦ Lights to create a warm atmosphere
◦ Vinyl holder that says ‘now spinning’
◦ Sound proof mattes for the walls to avoid an echo
