3. The first shot is an establishing birds eye view shot of the taxi on
the motorway. The framing of the taxi shows it being the only car
on the road which could suggest the unassuming nature of the
main character.
The second shot is a POV shot inside the taxi during the action
montage – the shot is fast paced and jolty, to present nervousness
in the driver as he is being forced to evade situations. It also shows
verisimilitude – the shot makes you feel like your in the taxi.
The third shot is a close up ofVincent, sarcastically laughing at
Max.The close up shot enables viewers to understandVincent’s
harsh personality and presents him as the protagonist for the film.
The fourth shot is an extreme close up of Max during the
equilibrium. He is content and relaxed as he continues his regular
journey around the city.

5. The first screenshot is ofVincent hitting an electrical pipe with a
wrench. This scene involves special effects to create the sparks,
enhancing the aggressiveness and anger he shows – which can be
generalized to his violent nature.
The second screenshot is taken from the montage of action shots,
showingVincent escaping on a train. The editing in this scene is
very high paced and uses jump cuts to create an action sequence
involving a high amount of different shots.
The third screenshot showsVincent sprinting after Max – in which
jump cuts are used to show him chasing after him. This style of
editing allowed for a longer sequence scene be shortened whilst
still using the action theme.
The fourth screenshot is of the use of text inserts to drive the
narrative of the trailer. It helps to link the equilibrium at the start
to the action later on.

7. The first shot presents Max’s dress code. He is wearing cheap, plain,
casual clothes. This links to his relaxed personality and mode of address
in terms of his job as a taxi driver. It also portrays him as regular and
inconspicuous. The next shot shows a juxtaposition in whatVincent is
wearing. He’s shown in a smart suit and tie to present him as a middle
class working man, who earns a lot of money. This shows a binary
opposition of the working vs. middle class.
The third shot shows the city landscape of Los Angeles – where the film
is set. It is shown at night time to conform to the generic conventions of
a thriller – being that criminal activity happens in darkness.
The final shot shows the use of weaponry in the trailer.Vincent is shown
with various guns and knives as he goes on a spree of attacks. The
iconography this portrays is of gang violence, howeverVincent works
individually on his killings (this therefore could also show his strength in
manipulation).

9. The first shot is presenting the diegetic incidental
sound of the taxi skidding across the road. This use of
sound reflects the action theme of the trailer, whilst
signaling the change of pace from the start of the
trailer where it was calm and slow.
The second shot shows the change in soundtrack due
to the narrative. At the beginning, the soundtrack is
has a slow beat, and has no heightened ambient
sounds. However, later on in the trailer, the
soundtrack is switched for music that is much faster
paced and has focus on sounds such as banging or
smashing.
