1. Title: Manager, Data Center Operations

Overview:
This role is responsible for the management of the Data Centres and the associated Operations staff;
UNIX Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Operations and Applications Support personnel.
In addition this role is responsible for creating and implementing Datacenter Operations processes and
implementing approved strategies. Operational and system administration decisions are required on a
daily basis to ensure high availability of the Data Centre systems and applications. The position also
plays a key role in recommending and implementing Data Centre technologies.
Things you need to have:
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
10+ years in IT with focus on computer operations, databases and systems
Strong UNIX OS and change management
Strong SUN hardware, EMC storage, and VERITAS Suite experience
Experience managing Data Center facilities (power, cooling, technologies, etc.)
Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation
It would be great if you also had:
Solid experience in large-scale, high-transaction, clustered UNIX environment
ITIL certification is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional customer service orientation
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Leadership: various technical resources, operationally, architecture, support, financially
Planning: project mapping, resourcing, requirements gathering, implementation scheduling
Deployment: monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, support, identifying areas for
improvement
Operational: asset and access management, staffing and supervision, X-departmental
communication, provisioning of end-user services and technical support
Performance: team development and management, workflow improvements, KPI meet or
exceed, budget preparation and control
