2017. Tsavo Heritage Foundation will hold
a series of events that will help raise awareness about the
state of the Tsavo ecosystem while raising funds for the
program
This is a 84km endurance run for the physically fit enthusiast.
Individuals must cover the race in less than ten (10) hours
TsavoEkiden84
A Marathon relay is called an Ekiden. The TsavoEkiden84 will have
several relay categories for the competition.
1. TsavoEkiden21 - COUNTY CHALLENGE (21km X 4pax)
⢠A team of 4 Participants
⢠The 4 participants Relay over 84km
⢠Each Participants Covers 21km Distance
⢠The Team must cover the 84km distance in less than ten (10)
hours
2. TsavoEkiden6 - CORPORATE CHALLENGE (6km X 14pax)
⢠A team of 14 Participants
⢠The 14 participants Relay over 84km
⢠Each Participants Covers 6km Distance
⢠The Team must cover the 84km distance in less than ten (10)
hours
⢠Each participants must cover his or her sector in under
42minitues.
⢠A maximum membership of twenty (20pax)

TsavoRide120
Their will be a cycling challenge over a 120km distance. The challenge
will start at the Voi SGR station and culminate at the Taita Hills Sanctuary
after covering the scenic Taita hills. Teams must average a minimum of
ten kilometers an hour(10kph). Each team can have a maximum of twenty
persons.
TsavoRide40
Teams compete over the 120km distance with each team member covering
40km.
TsavoRide20
Teams compete over the 120km distance with each participant covering a
minimum of 20km.
TsavoRide10
Teams compete over the 120km distance with each team member covering
10km.
Scoring
Points are scored for all the events on the following fixed weights.
Fundraising â 40 points
40% of the points are garnered though fundraising
Minimum fundraising target is set at ksh 200,000/=.
Field event - 30 points
30% of the points are earned by participating in the field events
Costumes â 10 points
10% of points go to Team costume design creativity.
Gender parity â 10 points
10% of the points are earned through
participants gender mix.
Social Media following
10 % of the remaining points are earned
through a teamâs social media presence
gauged by number of followers that a
team has.
3. THE VILLAGE

RACE CENTRE
The spectators area will be streaming in live feeds from cameras
installed along the route which will be viewed on large LED
screens.
The area will also have a state of the art race centre to collate and
aggregate the team event points.
An emergency centre will also be set up within this area as well as
several medical centres and medical support for the teams.
The race will run on electronic timing system which will monitor
team performance and update in real time.
ENTERTAINMENT
At the starting point, from 10 am in the morning members will be
entertained by various artists and acts from within and without.
EXPO
There will be a vibrant exhibition area running starting Friday afternoon
to Sunday morning showcasing various services the Tsavo as a region
has to offer.
THE TSAVOGALA
This will anchor the event with Tsavo gala prize giving ceremony and
gala dinner starting from 8pm until late in the night. Field event winners
will be fete at this point. The overall winners will be fete during the
subsequent August Tsavo Ecosystem and Dispersal Areas celebration
signature event â Beats of Tsavo2018.

What is this about.
THF is looking to mobilise both local and international community
to participate in the holistic conservation of the Tsavo ecosystem
and dispersal area- TEDA.
The TsavoRun2017 is an awareness and fundraisers series of
events designed to achieve maximum engagement in a fun and
interactive manner for the discerning international and local
participants while bringing them close enough to experience the
Tsavo.

the TsavoFund, this being a kitty established to finance the
operations of the foundation and its objective.

This is an industry exclusive package and is exclusive to those who
have acquired the participating sponsorship package and would like
