As of 12 Feb 2020, the official name of the coronavirus is COVID19. @DrTedros said the name stands for
Corona Virus Disease of 2019. We will monitor only the use of #covid19 or Covid-19 words.
What does COVID-19 stands for?
Tedros said that “CO” stands for “corona”, “VI”
for “virus” and “D” for “disease”, while “19” was
for the year, as the outbreak was first identified
on December 31.
