2. . In English, there are 5 types of Conditional sentences, Zero, First, Second,
Third and Mixed. Today we will learn about Zero and First conditionals.
These complex sentences are made of two parts, the If-clause, which is a
condition and the main clause.
You can put the clauses in either way without changing any meaning to the
sentence.
Condition means a situation or circumstance. If a particular condition is true,
then a particular result happens.
For example: If I finish work early, I will come to the party. (shkruaj ne derrase)
Condition Result
OR: I will come to the party, If I finish work early.
3. Zero conditional
It refers to present real conditional and shows that the result is always true.
It is used when we talk about scientific results or situations that are always
certain.
The verb in the If-clause and the main clause is always in the Present Simple.
Shkruaj ne derrase: If + verb in present simple, Subject + verb in present
simple
1. If you expose it to the air, phosphorus burns. (Expresses a general truth)
2. If I exercise, I look great. (expresses a Habitual situation or activity)
3. If someone calls, take a message please. (gives a command or
instruction)
4. First conditional is often called “present real”
conditional and it refers to a particular possible
condition or situation in the real world and its
possible result. So there is a real possibility
that the condition will happen.
5. Here there is a difference in meaning and in
structure with zero conditional.
If + verb in present simple, subject + will + verb
Never put If+ subject+ will…
