They errors may occur due to various reasons like misunderstanding, language barriers, lack of experience, etc. The idea is to take over repetitive tasks that rely on memory or vigilance and guard against any lapses in focus. It is a quality assurance technique, where main objective is to reduce defects by correcting or preventing mistakes as soon as possible. poka-yoke is a system designed to prevent inadvertent errors made by operators performing a process.
