2. Agriculture Productivity is measured as the ratio of Agricultural
outputs to Agricultural inputs.
Agriculture Growth Rate in India
GDP had been growing earlier but in
last few years it is constantly
declining. Still , the growth Rate of
Agriculture in India GDP in the share
of country’s GDP remains the biggest
economic sector in the country.

3. Issue related to agricultural productivity
• Uncultivable Barren Land & Utilization of
Fallow Land.
• Poor Quality of Crops & also their Long
Harvesting Period.
• The MSP(Minimum Support Price) Exploitation
by market Intermediaries.
• Non-Flexible Bank Policies.
4. PROBLEMS.
Improving Fertility of Barren
& Utilization Fallow Land.
Poor Quality of Crops & also
their Long Harvesting Period.
SOLUTION.
Using Organic Farming &
Utilization of Fallow Land.
Pre-Harvesting Modification
(GM Crop’s).
Genes can be modified to
produce various traits in normal
crops like, crop’s length, size,
texture, harvesting period
duration etc can be altered. Crop
resistance to biotic & Abiotic
factors can also be obtained.
5. IMPLEMENTATION.
Using NREGA Act (National Rural Employment
Gandhi Act 2005) Government can utilize Fallow &
Barren Land for Agriculture.
Organic Farming:- Vermicomposting & Green Manure
helps improve soil fertility.
Using r-DNA Technology we can improve
Crop quality & also decrease Harvesting
Period for various Crops.
6. PROBLEMS.
The MSP(Minimum
Support Price )
Exploitation by market
Intermediaries.
Reform in Bank Policy.
SOLUTION.
MSP must be increased by
Government such that
farmer’s are profitable and
controversy must not prevail
between market and
Government price.
Bank must provide loan to
farmer’s at least subsidized
rate & CRR(Cash Reserve
Ratio) must be reduced.
7. IMPLEMENTATION.
Modification of MSP(Minimum Support Price)
Policy & Dissemination of price Information.
Modification of Bank Policies.
8. Economical Issue.
Farmer’s are not aware about the latest r-DNA
technology & GM Crops.
If aware they are mislead and consider GM crops as a
health hazard
Lab requirement for production of GM Seeds & Crops are
extremely Expensive.
Therefore GM Seeds are very Expensive.
FCI lack’s Storage Facility & Grain Storage Houses.
Social Issue.
9. Political Issue.
Passing of Bill & making amendments is a slow
process.
Un efficiency of Schemes in term’s of Distribution of
Fund issued by the Government.
In era of Land Acquisition Bill major Proportion of
Land are not under the hands of Government.
10. Conclusion
Being a student of Biotechnology, we choose this
topic so that the Idea given by us may get
Incorporated & help in increasing GDP in terms of
Agricultural Productivity.
Farmer’s must Switch to using Bio fertilizer's/Organic
Farming/Vermicomposting/Green Manure rather than
using Chemical Fertilizers so that the Land fertility
increases.
All these steps if taken by the Government may lead
to Sustainable Development.
