2. I believe I have chosen to inquire on being a computer
technician because I have a little experience with computers
as I am in a digital class.
Well I have helped out many teachers and classrooms when they
have had technical issues with their computers and have also
helped many of my friends and family members.
The contacts that I have to help me in my journey to becoming a computer
technician would be Miss Gorrie because she has a lot of experience with
computers.
3. • A+ cert in IT.
• City and Guilds certificate for IT practitioners.
• Advanced background in the IT technical support.
I can go to the Computer Power Institute of New Zealand also I can go
to AUC which is also a New Zealand based IT institute and finally I can
go to Avanmore diploma in computer network (level 5). All of the
institutions will help me get a good education and help me reach the
qualifications for being a computer technician.
To gain these qualifications I will have to study from 2-4 years and then I will be
able to apply for a job. Also the costs of these range from $14,000-$15,000
4. Having roughly 10 years of experience with computers would be good because
then I will know all the basics of a computer and some extended work with them.
Subjects such as reading will help me hugely because I will need to know how to
read all of my letters, reports and many things such as that also I will need to know
how to be a good writer so writing is also another good asset to my job.
I can not get a job here in the Manawatu region although I have found Harvey
Norman in Nelson where I can be a computer technician also I can work as a
computer service technician at Modern Technology NZ limited and finally I can work
as a IT support technician working part time in Dunedin.
5. My career can take me anywhere really as I can go out to another country to work
like if I get a promotion but it is in another country I will be sure to take that
opportunity.
Technology has a huge impact on my career as I will be fixing servers and many
computer faults. Although this will be, the computers in later life my be able to
comprehend without computer technicians as they may become vastly high tech
and be capable enough to not have any faults.
The average pay for a computer technician ranges from $40,000-$60,000 a year
but if you stay in and do extra jobs you get bonus wages and then if you stay with
that company for approximately 10-15 years and then your minimum wage can get
boosted up to about $90,000
