• Information literacy:
The ability to recognize when and what
information is needed, and the knowledge of
how to define appropriate search strategies,
determine relevant sources, locate, critically
evaluate and ethically use information in all
formats.

the Web Era
Note that not every result of search or information
is authentic – therefore, always check for the
following:
• Authority – who writes the article or owns the
material?
• Currency – when last was the page updated?
• Accuracy – is the information reliable and error –
free?
• Objectivity – is it free of bias and sentiments?
• Coverage – what is the scope of the resources?
