The document describes the Catalyst Cycle Against Suicide, a 1,400km cycling event across Ireland from April 27th to May 10th, 2015 to raise awareness of suicide prevention. The cycle was organized by Jim Breen after a documentary he appeared in about suicide awareness had a large impact. The cycle will involve events in schools and communities along the route to connect people with local support groups and raise awareness of suicide prevention.

people throughout Ireland when the
piece aired in July 2012.
• After the show many people contacted
Jim, sharing their own stories and offering

• Jim wondered though, help with what?
• He wasn’t doing anything…..Yet!

5. What Are We Doing?
National Awareness Cycle
27th April to 10th May 2015
• Start in Belfast & finish in Dublin
• Cover 1,400km over 14 days
• Regional events to greet the cyclists, with
local personalities and experts
• 28 schools (2 per day, 1 at lunchtime and
1 in the evening)
• Connecting with & Raising Awareness for
local suicide support groups
