International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is the lead
research partner facilitating agricultural solutions to overcome
hunger, malnutrition and poverty in the tropics.
IITA Knowledge Center exists to support IITA’s mission and
vision. It is client driven and user-friendly. It
- Ensures that IITA scientists and other clients have
access to the information they need to facilitate research
at the time needed and in the right format regardless of
location.
- Manages and updates IITA knowledge resources.
- Provides knowledge sharing services. Disseminates IITA
research output worldwide for uptake and impact.
Background
3. www.iita.orgA member of the CGIAR Consortium
There is a deliberate shift to electronic resources from
the traditional print resources.
We explore cost effective alternatives so that our
scientists can have the best available information
resources for research for development so as to achieve
the mission of IITA. The information resources are as
listed below.
We collaborate with other libraries both within and
beyond the country to access information resources and
we are involved in interlibrary loan.

Conclusion
The task ahead is to move the IITA Knowledge Center
out more conspicuously as we embark on new
initiatives, collaboration and programs of great
potential value to the researchers to find solutions to
the problems of hunger and poverty. We encourage
feedback from our clients. The strategic plan sets forth
goals targeted to reach our vision of leading IITA in
ensuring access to knowledge and information and in
promoting the development and creative use of our
institutional repository.
