Employee Attitudes Towards Pay By Marx Essay
Section One. Employee attitudes towards pay. The Great Philosopher Karl Marx (1884, p 1) said "wages are determined through the antagonistic
struggle between the capitalist and worker. Victory goes necessarily to the capitalist. The capitalist can live longer without the worker than the
worker without the capitalist". The aforementioned philosophic statement by Marx opens for many issues to be debated between workers and
employers, employment cadres and employment policies. From the statement one realize in the hands of the capitalists are resources in the form
of pay or wages that a worker desires to have in their own hands for their individual needs. As a result the capitalist employ workers and in turn pay
wages which are an income and the capitalist incurs labor costs. And the income and labour cost relationship inverse such that worker desire to be
paid more while the capitalist is willing to payless. It is this relationship that give birth trade unions to bargain on behalf of the worker for a range
of work conditions to be improved. According to Maxell et al (2014, p 65) monetary incentives are used by employers of labours to retain their best
brains and as well compensate them for a job well done and excellence of job performance through monetary form. It is during this contractual
agreement that attitudes a developed by the employee towards wages. How much is being paid has a potential cause attitudes either way, positive or
negative. In essence pay or incentives

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Help ' Essay
The film "The Help" (2011), is a story based on the daily lives of prominent white women and the relationships with their African–American
housemaids in Jackson, Mississippi, during the 1960s Civil Rights movement in America. A well–to–do white woman and central character in this film,
Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, aspires to be a journalist and decides to write and publish an exposГ© of the stories of the housemaids in Jackson to
achieve this goal, however, only two maids, Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson are willing to discuss their experiences with her. The other maid's in
Jackson resist telling Skeeter their stories, fearing the punishments they would endure if the authorities were to find out. In spite of this, after the
malicious arrest of one of their befriended maids, all of the maids begin to share their experiences, which consist of racial hostility and being treated as
intrinsically subservient to white people. The story Skeeter publishes entitled The Help, creates a disturbance among the white families in Jackson, by
exposing the racism the maids are faced with, forcing the white families to reflect upon how they have treated their maids. The storyline represented in
The Help exhibits examples of the primordial approach to race and ethnicity, as well as numerous sociological concepts including segregation,
internalized oppression, and white privilege, which will be exemplified in this paper in order to uncover the race relations evident within this film.

Throughout colonial time there were many beliefs, movements, and conquests that happened within many countries. One of them in which was the
spiritual conquest of the Spanish and the Portuguese. This spiritual conquest would undoubtedly be carried over to the Americas. Due to religion being
very important to both the Europeans and the Natives this lead to a conflict that cause fights, missions, and resistances to increase.
After watching the documentary, "When the Moors Ruled Europe", it was made clear that the Spanish informed everyone that was within the Spain's
domain of influence that if a person was not part of the Catholic religion they were to be harshly punished and even sometimes fatally. The documentary
mentioned that in 1526 there

How Social Media Improved Communication? Essay
The social media is one of the most common ways of communication and pretty much of knowing anything and everything around the world these
days, and it is growing very rapidly. It changes and affects each person in a different way, or ways. Some may argue that social media has a bad
influence on children and young adults, and that it negatively effects their brains, character, or personalities, while most people see that the social
media has a more positive effect on them than a negative one. Moreover, social media has helped many people around the world to connect, or
re–connect, with each other, easily. Social media is basically the new way of keeping in touch with everything and everyone, and of even strengthening
bonds between each...show more content...
Moreover, celebrities can now also keep in touch and communicate with their fans or other celebrities through social network sites. Social media is
one of the biggest and fastest way for celebrities to widen their fan base, and it is also a way through which fans could "talk" with their favorite
celebrities in a relatively safe, public environment such as Twitter, Instagram or Facebook (Social Media Today, "How Celebrities Use Social
Media to Build Their Brand", June 2013). Social Media, basically, has made it possible for fans to strengthen their bonds with their favorite
celebrities, and also made it possible for people to keep in touch with their favorite brands or business people, and to know what is new and upcoming.
Nevertheless, some opponents argue that social media actually has a negative effect, or impact, on our society, especially on children or young adults.
Some would site cyber–bullying as one of the main negative effects of social media, as it could get very serious and would even cause the depression
or even suicide of certain individuals. Moreover, family physician, Dr. Jennifer Caudle, has stated that young adults who experience Cyber bullying
would often catch serious diseases such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and could even develop insomnia, or the state of not being able to get
enough sleep (American Osteopathic Association, Cyber–Bullying and its Effect on our Youth, n.d.). In addition,

What Humanities Taught Me
What Humanities Has Taught Me
When someone talked about a humanities class, my thoughts automatically drifted to the arts. I am not someone who is fond of art; it's nice to
look at, but I never cared about why it was made. This class was so much more than just art; it was a history lesson. The most important thing I learned
this semester was about myself. I have learned to never judge a book by its cover as I could miss out on something great, and I will take this lesson
with me in life. I will never judge a book (or class) by its cover. I dreaded taking this class, because of a preconceived idea of what this class would
entail. I thought it would be a lot of information on the reason an artist chose to make a particular piece, why they

Lyme Disease Essay
A disease caused by the bacterium which is belongs to the class of Spirochaetes which implies cockscrew–shaped. This bacterial infection is caused by
four species. Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia afzelii and
Borrelia garinii.
A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size
and as their bite is painless, people might not even realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to
transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of attachment necessary to transfer...show more content...
If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of 14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are
recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally
eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When
the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated
could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system.
Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one
way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin or
checking for ticks regularly are other methods.
A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers
to understand how ticks acquire and transmit pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control

What Matters Most Important To Me
When I reflect on what matters the most to me I begin to look at what gives me a sense of purpose. Family, country, and believing in myself is what
gives me that purpose and is what matters to me. I feel these characteristics are in the make–up of my DNA and what drives me day to day. If I were to
pass away tomorrow, I feel in retrospect that I would not have any regrets because I live everyday with the mantra of family first, country second,
and believing in myself. My family means everything and more to me. They are my support, backbone, and give me the motivation to put forth my
best efforts in everything I do. When I decided to start a new path after my Marine Corps career, going to school was one of many options I had.
With the encouragement and support of my family I made the choice to go back to college eventually pursuing my dreams of attending TCU. When I
made that choice I made a commitment to them to be the best student possible. My first year in college was an experience that was different than
anything I was used to but I stayed true to my commitment earning academic honors, and scholarships. Every decision I make I do so with my family

My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to advance their knowledge. Not only does English
provide an advancement in knowlege, but has created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why English
is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in America including mine. I began taking English from a young
age which allowed me to take advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English IV allowed me to
further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any
other thing in life there are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was something that was very
challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in
my English class was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write about the experience I had while
hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my
thoughts, so that it flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around more then I should have and this
became a problem. I learned

Analysis Of Nighthawks By Edward Hopper
Nighthawks by Edward Hopper is one of my all–time favorite paintings, and has been a painting I have enjoyed researching throughout my life
because of how much I resonate with this painting. This is an astonishing painting, not only in the sense of it being beautiful art, but because this is a
piece that is so significant and loved by so many people around the world. I would say that even if you have not ever seen the original painting, you
have probably seen it reproduced in different ways in many different places.
The world is bursting with all kinds of versions of this painting. All of these tributes are made because of how much this painting has resonated with the
people who have seen it. The beautiful composition and the many well used elements in this painting have always intrigued and interested me. I think
that Hopper created a piece that can truly resonate with so many different people.
Edward Hopper expressed his love for art early in his life and was determined to make something out of himself in the field of art:
Edward Hopper was born in Nyack, New York, a town located on the west side of the Hudson River, to a middle–class family that encouraged his
artistic abilities. After graduating from high school, he studied briefly at the Correspondence School of Illustrating in New York City(1899–1900), and
then he enrolled in classes at the New York School of Art (1900
–1906). In his shift from illustration to the fine arts, he studied with William Merritt

Developing A Plan For Career Success
Creating Your Career Plan
Developing a plan for career success can be described as journey of self–discovery. Many leaders have taken time to understand in depth their
leadership skills by consistently refining skill sets but also always looking to better one self. To achieve our goals in leadership, one must develop
one's skills and construct a career plan to guide them to their goals. In the class Applying Leadership Principles, we have taken time to learn about
what defines a leader and how that applies to each of us in the class. Today I will be using the skills learned over the last eight weeks to develop a
career plan. I will start by using the career center as a beginning resource to evaluate my career path, reflect on my personal career and where I
would like to be in the future, identify strengths, and align those strengths with communication skills and problem solving skills. I will describe my
career path; develop my plan of what leadership approach I believe will help me achieve those goals.
Using the Career Center
Online learning has proven to a be a preferred method of learning for many adult learners as it offers the ability to finish a degree meanwhile
maintaining a career, a family, and other obligations outside of the classroom. The benefits include allowing a student to log into a classroom when it
is convenient and accelerated schedules with less classes at a time than the traditional brick and mortar classes. One benefit however that is not as

Reflective Essay On Helping People
We always talked about helping others. I noticed that you love helping people, it gives you joy to help others, and I think that's something we both
share. I understand now, when you cannot help me, you don't feel the joy. In a way you feel like you can't help me and it may feel like a rejection. I
am not rejecting you when you offer help and I say no. There are times where I should have asked for help and I didn't, because I thought you couldn't,
which isn't an excuse, I should have given you a chance. I didn't ask for help because I was embarrassed and thought you would think less of me. I
have problems with helping others and my professor actually pulled me aside from the final and wanted me to write why I felt like I need to be a savoir,
and help others so much. I talked to her after class as a therapist and not a professor. I realized that what I thought was helping, was actually not. I
thought all help was good and it's not. When I go out my way and help others who been helped their whole lives, I'm just feeding into what they want.
I'm not letting them learn on their own, and will continue to help, and its actually not helping at all. I am guilty of doing that to you sometimes. I'm
always trying to help and it's not real help and we get stuck in the same cycle.
We went back and forth on this relationship, at one point you didn't want it, and I did, another point you wanted it and I didn't. There were points
where we both wanted it and It was wonderful. I had learned

The Corporation Film Analysis Essay
The Corporation Film Analysis
The Corporation was based on a book written by Joel Bakan. It is a documentary film that looks at the history of corporation and follows them up
until present day to illustrate their dominance in society. I found this film very interesting with me once being part of the corporate world and finding
my way onto another career path for many of the reasons illustrated in this film. This film had an underlying statement of corporations' number one
concern was profit and the producing more and more per every man hour. It started off in history stating that business was once strictly regulated.
Corporations were chartered for specific jobs. These contracts would list the people that were going to do the work,...show more content...
The means of production included the human labor and raw materials. Labor power is important in creating a commodity that consumers can
produce or extract use value from. These corporations in the film are discussed in doing just that. They need to find a profit somehow. They realized
that by exploiting workers they were able to make their profit greater and greater. They did this by extracting surplus value from their labor. The
workers got paid less than the value they put into the commodity produced. Once they have gained profit they begin to make more goods and hire
more workers. The key concepts Marx uses in this social class theory are the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. The proletariat was the working class that
did not own the means of production, but produced the labor power. The bourgeoisie are the ones that own the means of production, but do not
produce the labor power. Small business owners would have both roles so they were called peit–bourgeoisie. Marx focused his work on the conflict
between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The workers in these factories paid very little for a consumer good that brings in a decent amount of
income for the owners have become alienated. Marx focused on the idea that workers can be separated from the products they produced when they
realize that all the value is being extracted by the owners. The workers are also kept to themselves and kept from creating social bonds with one

My Love For English
For a long time, one thing had always been the same: my love for English. It had always been a flame burning within me, something that could never
be completely distinguished. I've had my share of both good and bad English teachers, from both I have gained important
To my seventh grade English teacher:
Thank you. At the time, I despised all the activities you made my class do. I despised the months we spent going over commas. I despised the books
we were forced to read. Little did I know how many of these thing would be used in the future.
I am now an expert in the usage of the comma. Those months spent doing comma practices at the start of the class finally paid off. I appreciate
Shakespeare in a way I would never have if it wasn't for you. I remember struggling through A Midsummer Night's Dream as the thought of giving
up swam through my head. At the end of the book, you had us divide into groups and act out scenes. Surprisingly, I had a great deal of fun.
Everyone went full out with costumes and props. I also understand symbolism and have learned how to persevere through particularly mundane
books. We read Animal Farm in that class. The fact that a story about farm animals could stand for real life effects blew my mind. Additionally, for
every paper of mine you 'lost' and that I would later find right where it was supposed to be, I learned to be more assertive.
My love for English stopped twirling in the breeze and, for the first time, began to flicker.

Q2.Understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
2.1It is important to foster a learning environment in which students feel safe, relaxed, secure, confident and valued (Gravells A 2012 pg25) especially
for learners who may have had negative experiences in traditional classroom environments. Students often describe supportive learning environments as
expanding their sense of family and enhancing their self–esteem, which, when combined with increased literacy skills, help students take more chances
in pursuing their goals.
This involves not only the venue, but your attitude and the support you give to your students (Gravells A 2012, pge 24). You must consider your

Use positive nonverbal communication
Nonverbal messages are an essential component of communication in the teaching process. It is not only what you say to your student that is
important but also how you say it. An awareness of nonverbal behaviour will allow you to become a better receiver of students' messages and a better
sender of signals that reinforce learning. Some areas of nonverbal behaviours to explore include:
Eye contact: Teachers who make eye contact open the flow of communication and convey interest, concern, warmth and credibility.
Facial expressions: Smiling is a great way to communicate friendliness and warmth to students.
Gestures: A lively and animated teaching style captures students' attention, makes the material more interesting, and facilitates learning. Head nods also
communicate positive reinforcement to students and indicate that you are listening.
Posture and body orientation: Standing erect, but not rigid, and leaning slightly forward communicates to students that you are approachable, receptive
and friendly. Speaking with your back turned or looking at the floor or ceiling should be avoided, as it communicates disinterest.
Proximity: Cultural norms

Personal Anthem Research Paper
Personal Anthem I believe the most important things in life are family, words, friends and patience. Family is the backbone of your life. They support
you with your decisions and give you unconditional love. Words are very important in life to communicate also patience is the key to achieving your
goals.
Family– Family means to me mutual support, which is meaning you can rely on your family no matter what situation or problem it is and they can
always rely on you also. Knowing I have a great support from my family it makes me want to push to make myself push better and if all things family
they will be by my side. Family isn't just support or friendship it is about love. They will appreciate you, and give you a sense of belonging no matter

Your friends should be loyal and you should be able to trust them with things that you keep to yourself. You can be comfortable around your friends
and most importantly you can be yourself. Always having a person to adventure around with and have tons of laughs are things that we live for.
Knowing you have friends that can encourage along with your family is great. Some friends I even call my family because they give me all the things
I need to be family.
To conclude, family is my most important thing to live by. No matter what happens your family will always be there and will support you and help
you through tough times. Friends can do the same, but some friends can come and go. Friends help you with social problems and just telling the truth.
They give you the confidence you need. Words are a big thing also, it is how you communicate everyday. Things you say can hurt someone or give
them confidence. Giving someone a compliment can give them a smile that they will remember for that day. Also, patience is something you need to

Reflection On My Writing Skills
Reflection
My writing skills which I have worked on over the few months I have been in English 102 have changed quite a bit in my opinion. There are many
things which I have improved upon that were amongst my weaker writing skills when the year began. On the opposite side of that point, there are also
many things which I still need to improve upon if I want to truly elevate my writing to a level that I will be confident in. Finally, I have gained new
skills outside of writing from this class, particularly the activities which we did in class at various points throughout the year. These things all cumulate
together to give me an appreciation of English courses which I did not previously have.
Throughout this semester there are many skills that I have noticed have improved through the constant writing of essays for this class. The one
that I find most noticeable is a habit I had long struggled with which was essentially my tendency to be over necessarily wordy when writing my
essays. I believe that I was able to somewhat fix this subconsciously, just by knowing that I was no longer in high school, and could no longer get by
with just attempting to fill up my word count. I also believe I have greatly improved in my topic selection. In high school I would throw caution to
the wind and just pick whatever topic came to mind just in an effort to get it done. I have been much more calculated in college, and I believe that it
has helped me write better essays. While these were the

Employee Attitudes Towards Pay By Marx Essay

  • 1. Employee Attitudes Towards Pay By Marx Essay Section One. Employee attitudes towards pay. The Great Philosopher Karl Marx (1884, p 1) said "wages are determined through the antagonistic struggle between the capitalist and worker. Victory goes necessarily to the capitalist. The capitalist can live longer without the worker than the worker without the capitalist". The aforementioned philosophic statement by Marx opens for many issues to be debated between workers and employers, employment cadres and employment policies. From the statement one realize in the hands of the capitalists are resources in the form of pay or wages that a worker desires to have in their own hands for their individual needs. As a result the capitalist employ workers and in turn pay wages which are an income and the capitalist incurs labor costs. And the income and labour cost relationship inverse such that worker desire to be paid more while the capitalist is willing to payless. It is this relationship that give birth trade unions to bargain on behalf of the worker for a range of work conditions to be improved. According to Maxell et al (2014, p 65) monetary incentives are used by employers of labours to retain their best brains and as well compensate them for a job well done and excellence of job performance through monetary form. It is during this contractual agreement that attitudes a developed by the employee towards wages. How much is being paid has a potential cause attitudes either way, positive or negative. • 2. Analysis Of The Movie ' The Help ' Essay The film "The Help" (2011), is a story based on the daily lives of prominent white women and the relationships with their African–American housemaids in Jackson, Mississippi, during the 1960s Civil Rights movement in America. A well–to–do white woman and central character in this film, Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, aspires to be a journalist and decides to write and publish an exposГ© of the stories of the housemaids in Jackson to achieve this goal, however, only two maids, Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson are willing to discuss their experiences with her. The other maid's in Jackson resist telling Skeeter their stories, fearing the punishments they would endure if the authorities were to find out. In spite of this, after the malicious arrest of one of their befriended maids, all of the maids begin to share their experiences, which consist of racial hostility and being treated as intrinsically subservient to white people. The story Skeeter publishes entitled The Help, creates a disturbance among the white families in Jackson, by exposing the racism the maids are faced with, forcing the white families to reflect upon how they have treated their maids. The storyline represented in The Help exhibits examples of the primordial approach to race and ethnicity, as well as numerous sociological concepts including segregation, internalized oppression, and white privilege, which will be exemplified in this paper in order to uncover the race relations evident within this film. One of them in which was the spiritual conquest of the Spanish and the Portuguese. This spiritual conquest would undoubtedly be carried over to the Americas. Due to religion being very important to both the Europeans and the Natives this lead to a conflict that cause fights, missions, and resistances to increase. After watching the documentary, "When the Moors Ruled Europe", it was made clear that the Spanish informed everyone that was within the Spain's domain of influence that if a person was not part of the Catholic religion they were to be harshly punished and even sometimes fatally. • 4. How Social Media Improved Communication? Essay The social media is one of the most common ways of communication and pretty much of knowing anything and everything around the world these days, and it is growing very rapidly. It changes and affects each person in a different way, or ways. Some may argue that social media has a bad influence on children and young adults, and that it negatively effects their brains, character, or personalities, while most people see that the social media has a more positive effect on them than a negative one. Moreover, social media has helped many people around the world to connect, or re–connect, with each other, easily. Social media is basically the new way of keeping in touch with everything and everyone, and of even strengthening bonds between each...show more content... Moreover, celebrities can now also keep in touch and communicate with their fans or other celebrities through social network sites. Social media is one of the biggest and fastest way for celebrities to widen their fan base, and it is also a way through which fans could "talk" with their favorite celebrities in a relatively safe, public environment such as Twitter, Instagram or Facebook (Social Media Today, "How Celebrities Use Social Media to Build Their Brand", June 2013). Social Media, basically, has made it possible for fans to strengthen their bonds with their favorite celebrities, and also made it possible for people to keep in touch with their favorite brands or business people, and to know what is new and upcoming. Nevertheless, some opponents argue that social media actually has a negative effect, or impact, on our society, especially on children or young adults. Some would site cyber–bullying as one of the main negative effects of social media, as it could get very serious and would even cause the depression or even suicide of certain individuals. Moreover, family physician, Dr. Jennifer Caudle, has stated that young adults who experience Cyber bullying would often catch serious diseases such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and could even develop insomnia, or the state of not being able to get enough sleep (American Osteopathic Association, Cyber–Bullying and its Effect on our Youth, n.d.). I am not someone who is fond of art; it's nice to look at, but I never cared about why it was made. This class was so much more than just art; it was a history lesson. The most important thing I learned this semester was about myself. I have learned to never judge a book by its cover as I could miss out on something great, and I will take this lesson with me in life. I will never judge a book (or class) by its cover. I dreaded taking this class, because of a preconceived idea of what this class would entail. • 6. Lyme Disease Essay A disease caused by the bacterium which is belongs to the class of Spirochaetes which implies cockscrew–shaped. This bacterial infection is caused by four species. Borrelia burgdorferi and Borrelia mayonii cause the disease in the United States, while in Europe and Asia it is Borrelia afzelii and Borrelia garinii. A person can acquire Lyme disease by the bite of an infected tick. This disease is transmitted by deer ticks or black–legged ticks. Ticks are tiny in size and as their bite is painless, people might not even realize that they have been bitten. Once an infected tick attaches itself to the skin, it is able to transmit the bacteria. This bacteria eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The duration of attachment necessary to transfer...show more content... If the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, anti–infections treatment is given for a duration of 14–21 days. Adults and children above 8 are recommended doxycycline, while cefuuroxime and amoxicillin are given to younger children and breast–feeding women. The infection can be totally eliminated if a person is treated at the early stage. If Lyme disease is persistent in a patient, then they will be treated with intravenous antibiotics. When the disease is treated at a later stage, the infection will be stopped, but the curing of the symptoms will happen at a slower rate. A patient left untreated could face problems with the nervous system, muscle and joints and the digestive system. Prevention of Lyme disease lies in avoiding contact with ticks and removing ticks that attach to the skin. Avoiding grassy and woody areas is one way. Dressing defensively to cover up the skin available for the tick to attach is another way prevents the disease. Using repellants on exposed skin or checking for ticks regularly are other methods. A decade long research that ended in earlier months of this year has sequenced the genome of the tick that causes Lyme disease. This allows researchers to understand how ticks acquire and transmit pathogens allowing them to design a strategy to control Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Family, country, and believing in myself is what gives me that purpose and is what matters to me. I feel these characteristics are in the make–up of my DNA and what drives me day to day. If I were to pass away tomorrow, I feel in retrospect that I would not have any regrets because I live everyday with the mantra of family first, country second, and believing in myself. My family means everything and more to me. They are my support, backbone, and give me the motivation to put forth my best efforts in everything I do. When I decided to start a new path after my Marine Corps career, going to school was one of many options I had. With the encouragement and support of my family I made the choice to go back to college eventually pursuing my dreams of attending TCU. When I made that choice I made a commitment to them to be the best student possible. • 8. My Experience In English Writing English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Analysis Of Nighthawks By Edward Hopper Nighthawks by Edward Hopper is one of my all–time favorite paintings, and has been a painting I have enjoyed researching throughout my life because of how much I resonate with this painting. This is an astonishing painting, not only in the sense of it being beautiful art, but because this is a piece that is so significant and loved by so many people around the world. I would say that even if you have not ever seen the original painting, you have probably seen it reproduced in different ways in many different places. The world is bursting with all kinds of versions of this painting. All of these tributes are made because of how much this painting has resonated with the people who have seen it. The beautiful composition and the many well used elements in this painting have always intrigued and interested me. I think that Hopper created a piece that can truly resonate with so many different people. Edward Hopper expressed his love for art early in his life and was determined to make something out of himself in the field of art: Edward Hopper was born in Nyack, New York, a town located on the west side of the Hudson River, to a middle–class family that encouraged his artistic abilities. After graduating from high school, he studied briefly at the Correspondence School of Illustrating in New York City(1899–1900), and then he enrolled in classes at the New York School of Art (1900 –1906). • 10. Developing A Plan For Career Success Creating Your Career Plan Developing a plan for career success can be described as journey of self–discovery. Many leaders have taken time to understand in depth their leadership skills by consistently refining skill sets but also always looking to better one self. To achieve our goals in leadership, one must develop one's skills and construct a career plan to guide them to their goals. In the class Applying Leadership Principles, we have taken time to learn about what defines a leader and how that applies to each of us in the class. Today I will be using the skills learned over the last eight weeks to develop a career plan. I will start by using the career center as a beginning resource to evaluate my career path, reflect on my personal career and where I would like to be in the future, identify strengths, and align those strengths with communication skills and problem solving skills. I will describe my career path; develop my plan of what leadership approach I believe will help me achieve those goals. Using the Career Center Online learning has proven to a be a preferred method of learning for many adult learners as it offers the ability to finish a degree meanwhile maintaining a career, a family, and other obligations outside of the classroom. The benefits include allowing a student to log into a classroom when it is convenient and accelerated schedules with less classes at a time than the traditional brick and mortar classes. One benefit however that is not as utilized Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Reflective Essay On Helping People We always talked about helping others. I noticed that you love helping people, it gives you joy to help others, and I think that's something we both share. I understand now, when you cannot help me, you don't feel the joy. In a way you feel like you can't help me and it may feel like a rejection. I am not rejecting you when you offer help and I say no. There are times where I should have asked for help and I didn't, because I thought you couldn't, which isn't an excuse, I should have given you a chance. I didn't ask for help because I was embarrassed and thought you would think less of me. I have problems with helping others and my professor actually pulled me aside from the final and wanted me to write why I felt like I need to be a savoir, and help others so much. I talked to her after class as a therapist and not a professor. I realized that what I thought was helping, was actually not. I thought all help was good and it's not. When I go out my way and help others who been helped their whole lives, I'm just feeding into what they want. I'm not letting them learn on their own, and will continue to help, and its actually not helping at all. I am guilty of doing that to you sometimes. I'm always trying to help and it's not real help and we get stuck in the same cycle. We went back and forth on this relationship, at one point you didn't want it, and I did, another point you wanted it and I didn't. There were points where we both wanted it and It was wonderful. • 12. The Corporation Film Analysis Essay The Corporation Film Analysis The Corporation was based on a book written by Joel Bakan. It is a documentary film that looks at the history of corporation and follows them up until present day to illustrate their dominance in society. I found this film very interesting with me once being part of the corporate world and finding my way onto another career path for many of the reasons illustrated in this film. This film had an underlying statement of corporations' number one concern was profit and the producing more and more per every man hour. It started off in history stating that business was once strictly regulated. Corporations were chartered for specific jobs. These contracts would list the people that were going to do the work,...show more content... The means of production included the human labor and raw materials. Labor power is important in creating a commodity that consumers can produce or extract use value from. These corporations in the film are discussed in doing just that. They need to find a profit somehow. They realized that by exploiting workers they were able to make their profit greater and greater. They did this by extracting surplus value from their labor. The workers got paid less than the value they put into the commodity produced. Once they have gained profit they begin to make more goods and hire more workers. The key concepts Marx uses in this social class theory are the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. The proletariat was the working class that did not own the means of production, but produced the labor power. The bourgeoisie are the ones that own the means of production, but do not produce the labor power. Small business owners would have both roles so they were called peit–bourgeoisie. Marx focused his work on the conflict between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The workers in these factories paid very little for a consumer good that brings in a decent amount of income for the owners have become alienated. Marx focused on the idea that workers can be separated from the products they produced when they realize that all the value is being extracted by the owners. The workers are also kept to themselves and kept from creating social bonds with one Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Love For English For a long time, one thing had always been the same: my love for English. It had always been a flame burning within me, something that could never be completely distinguished. I've had my share of both good and bad English teachers, from both I have gained important To my seventh grade English teacher: Thank you. At the time, I despised all the activities you made my class do. I despised the months we spent going over commas. I despised the books we were forced to read. Little did I know how many of these thing would be used in the future. I am now an expert in the usage of the comma. Those months spent doing comma practices at the start of the class finally paid off. I appreciate Shakespeare in a way I would never have if it wasn't for you. I remember struggling through A Midsummer Night's Dream as the thought of giving up swam through my head. At the end of the book, you had us divide into groups and act out scenes. Surprisingly, I had a great deal of fun. Everyone went full out with costumes and props. I also understand symbolism and have learned how to persevere through particularly mundane books. We read Animal Farm in that class. The fact that a story about farm animals could stand for real life effects blew my mind. Additionally, for every paper of mine you 'lost' and that I would later find right where it was supposed to be, I learned to be more assertive. My love for English stopped twirling in the breeze and, for the first time, began to flicker. To my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Students often describe supportive learning environments as expanding their sense of family and enhancing their self–esteem, which, when combined with increased literacy skills, help students take more chances in pursuing their goals. It is not only what you say to your student that is important but also how you say it. An awareness of nonverbal behaviour will allow you to become a better receiver of students' messages and a better sender of signals that reinforce learning. Some areas of nonverbal behaviours to explore include: Eye contact: Teachers who make eye contact open the flow of communication and convey interest, concern, warmth and credibility. Facial expressions: Smiling is a great way to communicate friendliness and warmth to students. Gestures: A lively and animated teaching style captures students' attention, makes the material more interesting, and facilitates learning. Head nods also communicate positive reinforcement to students and indicate that you are listening. • 17. Reflection On My Writing Skills Reflection My writing skills which I have worked on over the few months I have been in English 102 have changed quite a bit in my opinion. There are many things which I have improved upon that were amongst my weaker writing skills when the year began. On the opposite side of that point, there are also many things which I still need to improve upon if I want to truly elevate my writing to a level that I will be confident in. Finally, I have gained new skills outside of writing from this class, particularly the activities which we did in class at various points throughout the year. These things all cumulate together to give me an appreciation of English courses which I did not previously have. Throughout this semester there are many skills that I have noticed have improved through the constant writing of essays for this class. The one that I find most noticeable is a habit I had long struggled with which was essentially my tendency to be over necessarily wordy when writing my essays. I believe that I was able to somewhat fix this subconsciously, just by knowing that I was no longer in high school, and could no longer get by with just attempting to fill up my word count. I also believe I have greatly improved in my topic selection. In high school I would throw caution to the wind and just pick whatever topic came to mind just in an effort to get it done. I have been much more calculated in college, and I believe that it has helped me write better essays. While these were the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
