1. Artist Research
Intro :
In this PowerPoint I will be analysing artists that our similar to ours. I will be
discussing appearance, genres, age and the way they are conveyed towards an
audience. I believe that when promoting an artist, one of the first things you should
do is research about artists similar to yours and find out ways in which they are
successful at selling themselves. Later on in the PowerPoint I will also be describing
ways in which I want to sell our artist based on research I have collected.

6. How we want our artist to be
conveyed
SEXY
Why?
We want our artist to be
conveyed as sexy because
youthful artists in today’s music
industry are usually all about
being sexy and appealing to
males and females.
YOUTHFUL
Why?
We want our artist to be
youthful so she can relate to
our target audience because
our target audience is quite
young.
IDOLISED
Why?
We want our artist to be
idolised because when an
artist can be loved and
adored by her audience
she will gain a bigger
audience and popularity.
COOL/STYLISH
Why?
Females, especially love
fashion and style, and for
their favourite artist to
dress like them will make
them appeal to them even
more.
7. What we want our artist to have/do
1) We want our artist to have her own label like J.Cole with Dreamville or like Logic with Visionary Music
Group. We would also consider joining a bigger label if our artist created her own just like Kanye West
who created GOOD Music but it also signed under Jay-Z’s label, Roc- A-Fella Records.
2) We want our artist to share their music via YouTube, Soundcloud and Spotify which can gain her views
and subscribers.
3) We want our artist to allow free downloads for starters then she will charge people whatever they
want to pay just like Radiohead.
4) We want our artist to have her own merchandise because this is a good way to produce a lot of
revenue and to also spread the artist’s name across the world.
5) We want our artist to hold concerts at small London venues, then eventually grow into bigger venues
worldwide
- London XOYO
- Brixton Academy
- Konnect
- The Roundhouse
6) We want our artist to have an Instagram, Facebook and Twitter page so she cant interact with her
audience, do competitions to and giveaways to give something back to her audience.
