Essay On Army Writing Style
The Struggles of Writing Compression: The Army Style
The Department of the Army states that all writing will be clear, concise, and effective (AR 25–50 page 2). Every Soldier and Officer must be able to
understand the writer's ideas in a single reading, this includes official correspondences. All Army correspondences must aid effectivecommunication
and decision making. First, I will introduce you to my background and experiences that I had with formal writing. Lastly, I will address the type of
writing style standards the Army utilizes to give you a better understanding.
Effective communication is by far one of the important parts of formal writing essays. I, for years have and continue to struggle with formal writing
because it has to do with a few of the...show more content...
This is recognized as the Army standard and I have been following this style for years. There are two requirements which include putting the main point
at the beginning (bottom line up front) and use the active voice (example, SGT Murphy assisted with target qualification). The subject–verb–object
works best because it speeds up communication and helps the reader understand the main point. Some of the other guidelines to follow: use short
words, keep sentences short (15 words), write paragraphs that, with few exceptions, are nor more than 10 lines, avoid jargon, insert two blank spaces
after a colon, one page is used for most correspondences, etc. I know this type of writing and verbal communication helps out in decision making
during combat. In a tactical mission, understanding what the commander wants to achieve is the end state. The commander has to be clear on who is
identified on doing the mission and how the plan is going to operate. I bring this up because this is a simple format in which all Soldiers understand
when they receive a mission. It reminds me of a step–by–step instruction manual and this writing style is what I am used

Why it is important to Obey Military Rules and Regulation Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders.
Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from day–one of boot camp. Which is why we work
so well by following orders from the more experienced leaders who have been doing this for years. We have plenty of obedience in Charlie company
and I feel it is one of the best units I have been in. It has made me want to persue a carreer in the military and I no rules and regulations is what is
going to make me move up the ranks and make me a all around better soldier. I no I need to work on discapile sometimes and am doing corrective

Military members who fail to obey the lawful orders of their superiors risk serious consequences. Article 90 of the Uniform Code of Military
Justice (UCMJ) makes it a crime for a military member to WILLFULLY disobey a superior commissioned officer. Article 91 makes it a crime to
WILLFULLY disobey a superior Noncommissioned or Warrant Officer. Article 92 makes it a crime to disobey any lawful order (the disobedience
does not have to be "willful" under this article). In fact, under Article 90, during times of war, a military member who willfully disobeys a superior
commissioned officer can be sentenced to death. The importance of rules and regulations in the military are there so a soldier knows how to act
and behave while in the military. We have rules and regulations to instill upon a soldier how to properly conduct him/herself while in the military
uniform. We are put on a higher pedestal than civilians at all times. We are to behave in a different manner than anybody. We are to at all times
conduct ourselves in ways that most people would not understand. The rules and regulations are put out so that we know what we can and cannot
do at all times. We are to behave at all times in a professional manner and dress properly. The Army is a uniformed service where discipline is judged,
in part, by the manner in which a soldier wears a prescribed uniform, as well as by the individual's personal appearance. Therefore, a neat and

Essay On Army Ethics
Living the Army Ethics can be summed up into two categories; why we serve and how we serve. These are the two principles behind Living the
Army Ethics. The Army instills its ethics within its professionals with creeds, values, oaths, ethos, and shared beliefs, all these instill a certain way
to live and act, which bonds all Army Professionals together by having the same moral code in which we should live by. With these ethics instilled
in us we are expected to make the correct moral decisions and take the correct actions at all time. Why we serve is the first category that sums up
living the Army Ethics. Why we serve is broken down into three sub categories; defend the American people and values, preserve the peace–prevent,

We are always living by the Army ethics whether it is the way we conduct our missions or by the performance of our duty. Why we serve can be
broken down into three sub categories Honorable Servants, Military Experts, and Stewards of the Profession. Honorable Servants can be summed
up to by oath we support and defend the people of the United States and obey all laws set forth, we are supposed to report all illegal actions and set
the example by living up to the Army Values. As an Army our goal and mission is to support, defend, and serve all those within the United States.
As Military experts we understand that we will be placed in harm's way and may have to use violent actions in order to accomplish the mission.
However we are committed to completing the mission and always placing the needs of other above our own. As Professionals it is our job to
continually refine and sharpen our skills, like previously stated we are always striving for excellence. Stewards of the Profession, we live up to the
standards and Values set forth by the Military. By leading by example and holding ourselves and those around us to those standards and

Military Organizational Structure
The Toad Military Organizational Structure Organization involves a intentional formalized structure of roles. People working together towards a
common goal, but in specialized areas. The overall effectiveness of any particular association is directly proportional to the functioning of its members.
As a firm increases in size the participants lose sight of the concept of teamwork. To maintain the competitive edge a corporation must remainflexible.
To this end, varying styles of organizational structure have been implemented. Much of this framework is determined by the business type, goals to be
achieved, and even the sociological level of advancement. Our armed forces today reflect this philosophy....show more content...
These numbers alone are not sufficient for adequate results in reaction to many needed operations. To make up for the lack of qualified people, the
reserve forces are part of the new reactionary force. In any contingency worldwide these assets may be called up with short notice for global
engagement. National Guard personnel serve under the command authority of their respective state or territorial governors until mobilized for a federal
mission. This unique status does involve some creative managerial solutions. As a National Guard member I have noticed a uncommon organizational
structure utilized. In some ways my unit is organized as a network system. The network is comprised of formal and informal structures. Work has been
divided among varies specialized shops centering around maintaining expertise in that one area. Other aspects of the unit show a matrix structure to be
present. The fact I have more than one supervisor, as in a project and functional manager illustrate (Wheelen and Hunger 231). This is manifested by the
emphasis that work is important not the formal structure surrounding it (Nohria and Eccles 193). A result of multitasking requirements and a limited
amount of resources available to non–federal units. But overall, at least upon the surface a functional organizational structure is present. A
boundaryless organizational design is an interesting concept. However

Importance Of Mission Readiness In The Army
Through my military career I have been told the importance of mission readiness and how much of an impact it can have on the unit if one soldier
is not up to standard. The other solders must not only continue working on the load they have but also pic up my slack. Not being fully mission
capable waste time and energy of my peers, my NCOs and the officers in my unit. I must do better as a soldier I am A specialist looking to go to
the promotion board in January but I made a private mistake. Mission readiness comes down to discipline and prioritizing which I will explain in
this essay. Discipline and standards define what it means to be an Army professional. Through the teaching and instilment of how we do things as
soldiers and discipline, we honor and respect the rich heritage which the Army is built on, while also ensuring the future success of the Army and the
soldiers who come after us by, inspiring us to adhere to and exceed the standard. One of the standards you learn in the early training phases in the
military is right place, right time right uniform. Standards and discipline are the foundation of what is professionally, legally, and morally correct and
as such instills trust in ourselves and our fellow comrades. It is this definitive trust in one another, in our leaders, and in the Army that Creates and
strengthens our esprit de corps, sense of pride, and our Army culture. My leaders had trust in me being a senior lower enlisted

Accountability in the Army Essay
The US Army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable; arriving to work and appointments on
time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most imprtant
formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and to put out any information that needs to be addressed. Without having
accountability there is no way of knowing where soldiers are or whats going on. Not only does accountability matter in formation, but it is also
imperative to have accountability if all of your weapons and sensitive items. What is accountability? Accountability is the obligation imposed by law or

It does not look well on them if they can not complete this task. This actually shows thats the soldier can't be depended on when they are needed.
This also hurts them when they are being looked at for promotions or any favorable actions. As a soldier you want to always make a great
impression on your leaders, and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable to them. It would make things run alot smootherif everyone
was on time all of the time. If no one was at the right place at the right time, it would set what ever mission you have back. It also makes a negative
impact on your leadership. However, I also feel that as leaders, they should also realize that things may happen with the soldiers. Whether its being
late to formation, missing an appointment due to some circumstance, as long as the soldier doesn't make it a habbit then forgiveness should be
granted on that instance. Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality
we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable anywhere. This should be the easiest
task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct this issue if it is a continuous problem. You can recieve a negative counseling statement,

Army Profession Essay
Since the beginning of the Army in 1775 till now, there have been many changes. We have gone from an all conscription Army to a completely
volunteer force. We have gone through wars and times of peace. Gone from being praised, to being spit on, and back again. Through all the changes
there has been one constant and that is the pride taken by all Soldiers in being called a Quiet Professional. It does not matter if the Soldier is at their
home station or on the front lines, we all want to do our job, or profession, as professional as possible. According to Merriam–Webster a profession is
"a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill; people who work in a particular profession" (Merriam–Webster.com, 2015). To me this
means that a profession is not just an everyday job but a specialized calling. Every Soldier strives to become the expert at their craft, or MOS, by
doing so they earn the trust of the people they work with and for. Since Human Resources requires special training and skills, the Human Resource
(HR) NCO are certified experts in our profession. As HR NCO's our expertise has a wide range from simple data input, pay, mail, and beyond. While
HR NCO's are not the ones that get all the press or glory, the HR NCO continues to work making sure our jobs are done...show more content...

future experts that will keep the profession strong and thriving. We as NCO's must do our best to shield our young soldiers from "toxic" leadership, to
show what good leadership is, and mold young soldiers into the professionals of

Honesty In The Military
When leading a team there must be a mutual understanding and being honest with all involved. Being honest will inspire others to be truthful, have
sincerity and be forthrightness when volunteering information that the other person may need to know. (Josephson, 2002, p. 8) This goes for both
leaders and non–leaders being honest will always the best policy. Equally important, individuals need to stand up for what they believe in as this will
take courage and honesty. For example, both Abraham Lincoln and Rosa parks exemplified courage and stood up for what they believed in. When the
civil war approached Washington, D.C., the President risked being shot in order to show support for his troops. The Presidents speeches angered

On the other hand, the aunt could have been upset because she was being questioned, but if she has good intentions for her mother then there should
be no problem to releasing that information rather than go through a civil process in court. In addition, being sincere with words and actions will
eliminate untrue or misleading information. Leaders must work hard and be accurate to prevent misunderstandings. It is important to remember "not
to play to the audience," and say different things to different groups of people (Bushey, p. 5) as this will lead to a significant loss of trust and
possible arguments will be established. Always be honest, sincere and candid and never take advantage of another person's trust, while at the same
time there must be fairness. There may be times when dishonesty may be justified, but this should only happen for safety reasons such as lying to
criminals or terrorists in order to save lives. When being dishonest it should only be for those reasons just stated and not for winning a game or hitting
a sales target to avoid confrontation. (Josephson, 2002, p.

from our military appearance and uniforms from other types of jobs that also use uniforms and have different standards that sets us apart from the

The wear and appearance of soldiers in the United States Army are while in uniform should be neat. There should be no excess "things" in a person's
pocket but it should lie down flat. The person wearing the uniform should look neat and concise not drawing attention to themselves. Soldiers
should look like a unit or group with everyone blending in not standing out because they look different. In the army it's important to be part of a
team. This is important in the armed forces especially because of what they do. In the army, marines, navy, and air force soldiers are called upon to
fight in the battle field. If soldiers cannot show unity by doing a simple basic thing of wearing the same uniform alike how anyone could expect them
to fight and win a nation's battle. This is why the army has proved a guideline of regulations for soldiers in the United States Army to wear and abide
by. This regulation is army regulation six hundred dash one which covers the dress and appearance of army uniforms in any given situation.

The Importance Of Integrity Of The Army
SPC PECK 20150714 THE IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRITY IN THE ARMY. Integrity is one of the Army's core values and one of the
cornerstones of the army. The cornerstones of the army are important because they are the very fundamentals that we all must live to uphold. We
must always embody and live up to the core beliefs and fundamentals of the army. We must try every day to respect and uphold the army core
values and beliefs. These core beliefs are what all the rest of the army beliefs and discipline is built upon in the founding of the army. If we live up
to the core beliefs of the army, we are honoring all who have served before. We also honor all those who have yet to serve by leaving the service
better than we came to it. We are also honoring all those who have paid the ultimate price for their country. If, we cannot live to uphold the very
fundamentals and the very cornerstones of the army way of life then we are letting our peers, subordinates, and senior leaders down. Not only are
we letting our peers, subordinates, and senior leaders down but we are letting down all those who have come before and all those yet to come into
the service. Not only are we letting our army down we are also letting down all the people who we defend, protect, help and support around the
world. By the lack of integrity, we cause our fellow soldiers, leaders, and their families' trouble as well. We also lose the trust of our peers, and we

Responsibility in the Army
Responsibility is one of the most important things in the Army. Accountability is also a very important part of being in the army and it goes hand
in hand with responsibility. I failed to maintain accountability of my weapon while at Yakima Training Center. This was not an example of being a
responsible soldier. This essay will explain what happened and why I think responsibilty is so important in the US Army. I had set my weapon
down in the tool room so that I can go grab a couple of things from one of the tricons. When I did this, I had lost visual contact of my weapon while

Equal Opportunity in the Army
Propelled by the civil rights movement of the 1960s and to counteract a national policy of segregation and inequality, the Department of Defense (DoD)
mandated race relations training in 1971. The violent and nonviolent disorders of the late 1960s were the catalyst that convinced military leaders that
race relations education must be provided to every member of the Armed Forces. An inter–service task force examined the causes and possible cures of
these racial disorders within the military. The task force, chaired by Air Force Major General Lucius Theus, resulted in Department of Defense

The situation in today 's Army is clearly much different from what existed years ago. Many changes have occurred, moving the Army 's EO program
from a strictly educational and training initiative to a multifaceted management program with clear goals and objectives. These goals and objectives
are also an integral part of human relations and are nurtured and developed through a professional military education system. The concept of the EO
program is to formulate, direct, and sustain a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential. It strives to ensure fair treatment of all soldiers is
based solely on merit, fitness, capability, and potential in support of readiness. EO philosophy is based on fairness, justice, and equity. It places the
responsibility for sustaining a positive EO climate within a unit on its commander. The U.S. Army will provide EO and fair treatment for military
personnel and family members without regard to race, color, religion, gender, or national origin, and provide an environment free of unlawful

duties and accomplish what is expected of them. Respecting ones self is an important factor of the Army value of respect. We, the United States Army
are one team and we each have something to contribute. What is respect? Respect has numerous forms. It can be self–awareness, character,
understanding, trust, honesty, and a positive attitude. Respect must be earned. If someone does not respect himself or herself then they are not able
to respect others. To gain respect you must treat others the way you would want to be treated, as you have heard many times before. If a unit lacks
respect it cannot have teamwork and sympathy for the well being of others. It creates devotion to the success of the team. Respect goes both ways up
and down the chain of command. A leader must respect his or her soldiers as their soldiers must appreciate the sacrifices and skills their superiors and
vice versa. by respecting the people around you with effort, and in time soldiers come to respect each other.

honesty, integrity, and personal courage. These all set up the framework for us to be able to accomplish or duty as soldiers. All of them work hand in

are closely related to each other. Another Army value that would go together with duty would be selfless service. Selfless service is the act of
putting once self before a particular group. The group that we as soldiers put ourselves before is the citizens of our country and other counties that
need our assistance such as Iraq and Afghanistan. It is the value that would instill duty in us as a soldier. Without selfless service, we would not be in

Army value that would relate to duty would be personal courage. Personal courage is the act of actually having the strength, physically and

Recruitment of the United States military is a vital part of maintaining an all volunteer military force. Because of recent world events and the high

When people have other options some of them will inevitably take them. This causes a direct correlation between military recruitment and the national
unemployment rate. When young healthy people that would be eligible to join the military can't find a civilian job, the military becomes much more
appealing. Having a good awareness of the national unemployment rate is critical for military recruitment. During times of low national unemployment,
the military may have to consider offering adding incentives and bonuses to attract quality personnel.
Other problems that recruiter's face, when trying to attract military personnel, is advanced education, youth trends of popularity and society views. The
principal activities that "compete" with military service for recent high school graduates are further schooling and civilian employment. The trade–offs
among these alternatives shift substantially over time because of both fluctuations in the civilian economy and secular trends in the aspirations of
youth (Sackett, 2003, p.43). With the current events in the world today and in the United States the trade–offs of not joining the military seem to have
the edge causing recruiters to work harder and the government to spend more money on meeting their goals. Due to recent problems with recruitment,
the Army has increased the maximum age of recruits from 34 to 39. This five year increase shows that the Army is becoming desperate to

Essay On Army Values
Being a professional soldier goes a long way. It means a person take pride in everything they do throughout life. It takes a lot of energy and time to
earn this title so upholding its standard is a must. A soldier abides by all his and her codes and creeds. Also, the soldier must follow the army set
values. There are seven values and all have a significant importance to our nation; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless–service, honor, integrity, and personal
courage. These seven values are all a soldier needs to be professional in the army. Following each of them and executing them will build your
character and define you as a soldier and a person. Army values are like everyday values too, but in the army and being held at such a higher value
they have to withhold them more then other people may have too. This means a soldier must have a strong loyalty to our country. They also have
one of America's largest duty upon them to make our nation to make it feel and be whole, if a soldier does not succeed with this duty stored upon
him or her then they are not doing the job assigned to him or her. Selfless services and personal courage are two very similar things that many people
do not have or think about. Soldiers have to have the courage to go out on the battlefield and deploy and fight and complete a duty they are given, they

Some people may have a few of the seven army values, but no one has all seven like an army soldier, we have a professional job that not many
people think about, they think it's just about saving American. Soldiers have to be in top shape, in health and professionalism, soldiers has a whole
have to be more professional than some business men and that's just because not a few people are looking over us, over billions of Americans are
looking up at soldiers and are deciding if they want to join us and be as professional as us or just

Essay On Army Writing Style

  • 1. Essay On Army Writing Style The Struggles of Writing Compression: The Army Style The Department of the Army states that all writing will be clear, concise, and effective (AR 25–50 page 2). Every Soldier and Officer must be able to understand the writer's ideas in a single reading, this includes official correspondences. All Army correspondences must aid effectivecommunication and decision making. First, I will introduce you to my background and experiences that I had with formal writing. Lastly, I will address the type of writing style standards the Army utilizes to give you a better understanding. Effective communication is by far one of the important parts of formal writing essays. I, for years have and continue to struggle with formal writing because it has to do with a few of the...show more content... This is recognized as the Army standard and I have been following this style for years. There are two requirements which include putting the main point at the beginning (bottom line up front) and use the active voice (example, SGT Murphy assisted with target qualification). The subject–verb–object works best because it speeds up communication and helps the reader understand the main point. Some of the other guidelines to follow: use short words, keep sentences short (15 words), write paragraphs that, with few exceptions, are nor more than 10 lines, avoid jargon, insert two blank spaces after a colon, one page is used for most correspondences, etc. I know this type of writing and verbal communication helps out in decision making during combat. In a tactical mission, understanding what the commander wants to achieve is the end state. The commander has to be clear on who is identified on doing the mission and how the plan is going to operate. I bring this up because this is a simple format in which all Soldiers understand when they receive a mission. It reminds me of a step–by–step instruction manual and this writing style is what I am used Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Why it is important to Obey Military Rules and Regulation Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from day–one of boot camp. Which is why we work so well by following orders from the more experienced leaders who have been doing this for years. We have plenty of obedience in Charlie company and I feel it is one of the best units I have been in. It has made me want to persue a carreer in the military and I no rules and regulations is what is going to make me move up the ranks and make me a all around better soldier. I no I need to work on discapile sometimes and am doing corrective training...show more content... Military members who fail to obey the lawful orders of their superiors risk serious consequences. Article 90 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) makes it a crime for a military member to WILLFULLY disobey a superior commissioned officer. Article 91 makes it a crime to WILLFULLY disobey a superior Noncommissioned or Warrant Officer. Article 92 makes it a crime to disobey any lawful order (the disobedience does not have to be "willful" under this article). In fact, under Article 90, during times of war, a military member who willfully disobeys a superior commissioned officer can be sentenced to death. The importance of rules and regulations in the military are there so a soldier knows how to act and behave while in the military. We have rules and regulations to instill upon a soldier how to properly conduct him/herself while in the military uniform. We are put on a higher pedestal than civilians at all times. We are to behave in a different manner than anybody. We are to at all times conduct ourselves in ways that most people would not understand. The rules and regulations are put out so that we know what we can and cannot do at all times. We are to behave at all times in a professional manner and dress properly. The Army is a uniformed service where discipline is judged, in part, by the manner in which a soldier wears a prescribed uniform, as well as by the individual's personal appearance. Therefore, a neat and well–groomed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay On Army Ethics Living the Army Ethics can be summed up into two categories; why we serve and how we serve. These are the two principles behind Living the Army Ethics. The Army instills its ethics within its professionals with creeds, values, oaths, ethos, and shared beliefs, all these instill a certain way to live and act, which bonds all Army Professionals together by having the same moral code in which we should live by. With these ethics instilled in us we are expected to make the correct moral decisions and take the correct actions at all time. Why we serve is the first category that sums up living the Army Ethics. Why we serve is broken down into three sub categories; defend the American people and values, preserve the peace–prevent, shape win, and...show more content... We are always living by the Army ethics whether it is the way we conduct our missions or by the performance of our duty. Why we serve can be broken down into three sub categories Honorable Servants, Military Experts, and Stewards of the Profession. Honorable Servants can be summed up to by oath we support and defend the people of the United States and obey all laws set forth, we are supposed to report all illegal actions and set the example by living up to the Army Values. As an Army our goal and mission is to support, defend, and serve all those within the United States. As Military experts we understand that we will be placed in harm's way and may have to use violent actions in order to accomplish the mission. However we are committed to completing the mission and always placing the needs of other above our own. As Professionals it is our job to continually refine and sharpen our skills, like previously stated we are always striving for excellence. Stewards of the Profession, we live up to the standards and Values set forth by the Military. By leading by example and holding ourselves and those around us to those standards and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay on Military Military Organizational Structure The Toad Military Organizational Structure Organization involves a intentional formalized structure of roles. People working together towards a common goal, but in specialized areas. The overall effectiveness of any particular association is directly proportional to the functioning of its members. As a firm increases in size the participants lose sight of the concept of teamwork. To maintain the competitive edge a corporation must remainflexible. To this end, varying styles of organizational structure have been implemented. Much of this framework is determined by the business type, goals to be achieved, and even the sociological level of advancement. Our armed forces today reflect this philosophy....show more content... These numbers alone are not sufficient for adequate results in reaction to many needed operations. To make up for the lack of qualified people, the reserve forces are part of the new reactionary force. In any contingency worldwide these assets may be called up with short notice for global engagement. National Guard personnel serve under the command authority of their respective state or territorial governors until mobilized for a federal mission. This unique status does involve some creative managerial solutions. As a National Guard member I have noticed a uncommon organizational structure utilized. In some ways my unit is organized as a network system. The network is comprised of formal and informal structures. Work has been divided among varies specialized shops centering around maintaining expertise in that one area. Other aspects of the unit show a matrix structure to be present. The fact I have more than one supervisor, as in a project and functional manager illustrate (Wheelen and Hunger 231). This is manifested by the emphasis that work is important not the formal structure surrounding it (Nohria and Eccles 193). A result of multitasking requirements and a limited amount of resources available to non–federal units. But overall, at least upon the surface a functional organizational structure is present. A boundaryless organizational design is an interesting concept. However Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Importance Of Mission Readiness In The Army Through my military career I have been told the importance of mission readiness and how much of an impact it can have on the unit if one soldier is not up to standard. The other solders must not only continue working on the load they have but also pic up my slack. Not being fully mission capable waste time and energy of my peers, my NCOs and the officers in my unit. I must do better as a soldier I am A specialist looking to go to the promotion board in January but I made a private mistake. Mission readiness comes down to discipline and prioritizing which I will explain in this essay. Discipline and standards define what it means to be an Army professional. Through the teaching and instilment of how we do things as soldiers and discipline, we honor and respect the rich heritage which the Army is built on, while also ensuring the future success of the Army and the soldiers who come after us by, inspiring us to adhere to and exceed the standard. One of the standards you learn in the early training phases in the military is right place, right time right uniform. Standards and discipline are the foundation of what is professionally, legally, and morally correct and as such instills trust in ourselves and our fellow comrades. It is this definitive trust in one another, in our leaders, and in the Army that Creates and strengthens our esprit de corps, sense of pride, and our Army culture. My leaders had trust in me being a senior lower enlisted Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Accountability in the Army Essay The US Army values soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable; arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time and doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most imprtant formation of the day. It is made to get accountability of everyone and to put out any information that needs to be addressed. Without having accountability there is no way of knowing where soldiers are or whats going on. Not only does accountability matter in formation, but it is also imperative to have accountability if all of your weapons and sensitive items. What is accountability? Accountability is the obligation imposed by law or lawful...show more content... It does not look well on them if they can not complete this task. This actually shows thats the soldier can't be depended on when they are needed. This also hurts them when they are being looked at for promotions or any favorable actions. As a soldier you want to always make a great impression on your leaders, and not being able to make it on time is not acceptable to them. It would make things run alot smootherif everyone was on time all of the time. If no one was at the right place at the right time, it would set what ever mission you have back. It also makes a negative impact on your leadership. However, I also feel that as leaders, they should also realize that things may happen with the soldiers. Whether its being late to formation, missing an appointment due to some circumstance, as long as the soldier doesn't make it a habbit then forgiveness should be granted on that instance. Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable anywhere. This should be the easiest task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct this issue if it is a continuous problem. You can recieve a negative counseling statement, Article–15 or even a Court Martial and discharged from military service. Plus, with an Article–15 you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Army Profession Essay Since the beginning of the Army in 1775 till now, there have been many changes. We have gone from an all conscription Army to a completely volunteer force. We have gone through wars and times of peace. Gone from being praised, to being spit on, and back again. Through all the changes there has been one constant and that is the pride taken by all Soldiers in being called a Quiet Professional. It does not matter if the Soldier is at their home station or on the front lines, we all want to do our job, or profession, as professional as possible. According to Merriam–Webster a profession is "a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill; people who work in a particular profession" (Merriam–Webster.com, 2015). To me this means that a profession is not just an everyday job but a specialized calling. Every Soldier strives to become the expert at their craft, or MOS, by doing so they earn the trust of the people they work with and for. Since Human Resources requires special training and skills, the Human Resource (HR) NCO are certified experts in our profession. As HR NCO's our expertise has a wide range from simple data input, pay, mail, and beyond. While HR NCO's are not the ones that get all the press or glory, the HR NCO continues to work making sure our jobs are done...show more content... This is our job as NCO's to keep the culture and climate of our profession at its peak. We cannot be the ones that "talk the talk" but not "walk the walk" bring that culture down. It is one of our areas of expertise to take care and nurture young soldiers. They are the future of the profession, the future experts that will keep the profession strong and thriving. We as NCO's must do our best to shield our young soldiers from "toxic" leadership, to show what good leadership is, and mold young soldiers into the professionals of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Honesty In The Military When leading a team there must be a mutual understanding and being honest with all involved. Being honest will inspire others to be truthful, have sincerity and be forthrightness when volunteering information that the other person may need to know. (Josephson, 2002, p. 8) This goes for both leaders and non–leaders being honest will always the best policy. Equally important, individuals need to stand up for what they believe in as this will take courage and honesty. There should be no excess "things" in a person's pocket but it should lie down flat. The person wearing the uniform should look neat and concise not drawing attention to themselves. Soldiers should look like a unit or group with everyone blending in not standing out because they look different. In the army it's important to be part of a team. This is important in the armed forces especially because of what they do. In the army, marines, navy, and air force soldiers are called upon to fight in the battle field. If soldiers cannot show unity by doing a simple basic thing of wearing the same uniform alike how anyone could expect them to fight and win a nation's battle. This is why the army has proved a guideline of regulations for soldiers in the United States Army to wear and abide by. • 10. The Importance Of Integrity Of The Army SPC PECK 20150714 THE IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRITY IN THE ARMY. Integrity is one of the Army's core values and one of the cornerstones of the army. The cornerstones of the army are important because they are the very fundamentals that we all must live to uphold. We must always embody and live up to the core beliefs and fundamentals of the army. We must try every day to respect and uphold the army core values and beliefs. These core beliefs are what all the rest of the army beliefs and discipline is built upon in the founding of the army. If we live up to the core beliefs of the army, we are honoring all who have served before. We also honor all those who have yet to serve by leaving the service better than we came to it. We are also honoring all those who have paid the ultimate price for their country. If, we cannot live to uphold the very fundamentals and the very cornerstones of the army way of life then we are letting our peers, subordinates, and senior leaders down. Not only are we letting our peers, subordinates, and senior leaders down but we are letting down all those who have come before and all those yet to come into the service. Not only are we letting our army down we are also letting down all the people who we defend, protect, help and support around the world. By the lack of integrity, we cause our fellow soldiers, leaders, and their families' trouble as well. We also lose the trust of our peers, and we ostracize our self into becoming the outcast of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The violent and nonviolent disorders of the late 1960s were the catalyst that convinced military leaders that race relations education must be provided to every member of the Armed Forces. The concept of the EO program is to formulate, direct, and sustain a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential. Every soldier is responsible for treating other people with dignity and respect. As Soldiers we pledge to treat others with respect and dignity while not expecting anything in return. Respect allows us to appreciate what our Army leaders and Friends do for us. Respect is to have trust that people will fulfill their duties and accomplish what is expected of them. Respecting ones self is an important factor of the Army value of respect. We, the United States Army are one team and we each have something to contribute. What is respect? Respect has numerous forms. It can be self–awareness, character, understanding, trust, honesty, and a positive attitude. Respect must be earned. If someone does not respect himself or herself then they are not able to respect others. To gain respect you must treat others the way you would want to be treated, as you have heard many times before. If a unit lacks respect it cannot have teamwork and sympathy for the well being of others. It creates devotion to the success of the team. Respect goes both ways up and down the chain of command. A leader must respect his or her soldiers as their soldiers must appreciate the sacrifices and skills their superiors and vice versa. by respecting the people around you with effort, and in time soldiers come to respect each other. Another Army value that would go together with duty would be selfless service. Selfless service is the act of putting once self before a particular group. The group that we as soldiers put ourselves before is the citizens of our country and other counties that need our assistance such as Iraq and Afghanistan. It is the value that would instill duty in us as a soldier. Without selfless service, we would not be in the Army performing our duties today. Personal courage is the act of actually having the strength, physically and mentally, to perform your duties as a soldier. I think it is the most important value next to duty. Without personal courage you would not be able to pick up a weapon to defend this country which is our primary as soldiers. It facilitates our responsibilities as soldiers.
