Abortion Definition
Abortion, virtually killing, defies the word of God. The Bible contains many rules and regulations to which we are commanded not to break. The
Greek word brephos is used to describe an unborn child and an infant, and it's mentioned countless times in all versions of the Bible. Jeremiah 1:5
says, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee...". This means that God created
every single person, and planned for them to grow up and live a spiritual life. He knew everyone's name before they were ever created. He even
knew how many hairs would be on their head before they ever entered their mother's womb. He NEVER intended for them to die. Exodus 20:13 says,
"You shall not murder"

Abortion by google definition is a deliberate termination of ta human pregnancy. This, in fact, is a termination of a human life and should be deemed
as murder. Abortion is a severely understated reality of the disregard and disrespect of human life. I believe that every human life should be treasured
and respected, I feel abortion diminishes the meaning of life.
There is a clear indication in science that like begins at conception. The fusion of the zygote is where human life beings, each zygote has its own unique
combination of DNA which makes up a human. Biological life has certain life requirements which include metabolism, reproduction, growth, and
reactions to stimuli according to Family Research Council. The zygote fits all there...show more content...
The consequences of abortion are possible and psychological risks to women. The physical risks include excessive bleeding, infection and incompetent
cervix. Abortion may lead to other risks involving future pregnancies such as the double increase of the risks of sterility and the increase of the
chances of a future ectopic pregnancy. According to Birthmothers 85% of woman have negative emotional effects after abortion. These include
depression, anxiety, eating disorders and thoughts of suicide. Abortion changes a woman's life forever therefore abortion not only takes a life but
damages another as well.
The only instances abortion can be justifiable or even thinkable are under serious circumstances. This includes rape which leaves the woman as a
victim of a serious crime. The abortion can be seen as understandable die to the possible emotional damage that can occur to the woman if the baby
was carried to full term. The only other instant that abortion may be seen as necessary is if the mother is a severe health risk caused by the pregnancy.
Every living life deserves the right to be respected regardless of the stage of development. The unborn baby should be protected from the time of
conception this is when life begins. Society's idea of abortion should not be that it is a convenient solution rather abortion should be seen for

Reflection Paper On Abortion
I, as any other person, have beliefs that I feel very strongly about. The belief I feel most strongly support is pro–life. Abortion is a very controversial
topic in today's world, with there being many different opinions on the matter. The two ends of the spectrum are pro–life and pro–choice. There are
those that believe that abortion is always wrong, and there are those that believe abortion is always the choice of the mother. In between these two
extremes are those who are more moderate. Some of these moderates believe in abortion up to a certain status of the growth of the fetus, and there
are others who believe abortion is acceptable in cases of rape. I personally believe that abortion is wrong in every case. My opinion on abortion has
been shaped and strengthened by many factors throughout my life, with some of these factors being: my parents, Christianity, and Fox News. Without
these factors, there is a high probability that my opinion on the subject could be different. I personally believe that abortion is wrong in every case
because I believe that the fetus, or unborn child, deserves a chance to live, despite any circumstances. Cases of rape, endangerment of the mother's life,
and endangerment of the child's life during childbirth are more controversial and often harder to justify, but I believe the fetus always deserves the
chance to live. In the case of rape, I believe that abortion is still wrong. Although the mother has been violated in the most heartbreaking way, the
unborn human being still has extensive value and worth. An article I read on Save the Storks states, "Why does my sister have any less value, or
right to life, because of how she was conceived?" (McDowell n. pag.). This quote is from Sean McDowell. His youngest sister, who was adopted
by his family shortly after her birth, was conceived in rape. The birth mother was only fourteen years of age when she gave birth to the girl.
Although the baby was conceived in a terrible way, the mother chose to give the baby life and now the baby is a grown woman and living a joyful
life. If this baby had been aborted, this baby would have never lived a full life. Thus, many lives would have been affected, including the lives of
McDowell's family.

Abortion
Right or Wrong? In January 2002 a college freshman, Karen Hubbard, bled to death after secretly delivering her baby in a bathroom stall at her dorm.
Up until that night no one knew she was pregnant, not her family or her friends. Karen was a bright respected young girl, who had everything going
for her. She was co–valedictorian at her school and was now on her way to college. In the fall of 2001 Karen went off to the University of Wisconsin,
with high hopes from her parents. She was the last person anyone expected to get pregnant, but, on January 29, that all changed. It was around ten o'

Only a women knows what this means, so shouldn't she have the final say in what takes place in her body? Recently there has been an article put on a
website that talks about pro–life and why pro–life should be the only option. In the article, it states the issues that make a women's right to get an
abortion wrong and that abortions should be outlawed. It says that no one should deny the fetus the right to live, that it is a human being and should
be protected by the law like everyone else. That if one did not want to be pregnant there is safe and effective birth controls out there. And that society
needs to be more excepting of teen mothers. True there are safe birth controls out there, but not one is totally one hundred percent effective. And no
matter how hard people try society is never going to except teen mothers. There are still teens today that are not using a form of birth control. They
are too afraid to bring this subject up with their parents and this can result in unsafe sex. Due to this there are many teens that become pregnant and
chooses not to tell their parents. They feel their parents will look down upon them, because that is how society sees young mothers. So they decide to
fix this problem, the only way they know how, by getting an abortion. As of now, a teenager still has the

Definition of an Abortion
An abortion is the medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby. It is also sometimes known as a 'termination' or a
'termination of pregnancy'. Depending on how many weeks you have been pregnant, the pregnancy is ended either by taking medication or by having a
surgical procedure.
An abortion is not the same as a miscarriage, which is where the pregnancy is lost or ends naturally. The loss starts without medical intervention,
although medical or surgical treatment may be needed after a miscarriage has started to help empty the womb. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Abortion

Methods of pregnancy termination include:
The use of the abortion pill which is the use of a combination of the medicines mifepristone and misoprostol.

Use of the Abortion Pill
Mifepristone and misoprostol are synthetic steroids medication which are used to terminate a pregnancy while it is still in the early stages(70 days or
less since a females last menstrual cycle).Using the medication after the time period increases the likelihood of complications arising. The use of the
combination of the medications blocks the activity of the hormone progesterone, a hormone necessary for the continuation of a pregnancy. The lack of
progesterone causes the lining of the uterus to break down and contracts the womb. The use of the pills is 90% successful in deliberately terminating
pregnancies.
The side effects often accompanied by the use of the abortion pill are:
Headaches
Nausea vomiting and dizziness
Pain and cramping
Vaginal bleeding

Definition Of Abortion
Abortion is a widely discussed and argued topic that not many people can agree on it seems like. The dictionary definition is "the deliberate
termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy." My definition would be "ending a potential human
life due to careless acts and or other reasons." Many sites will say that no matter the reason, a human fetus should not be "killed" no matter what has
happened in order to conceive this child. There are also people who believe that women should be able to have an abortion and everything be fine. No
matter what the situation, I believe that women have the right to choose what they do with their bodies and their children in their lives. According to
CNN, "states have enacted more than 1,074 laws limiting access to an abortion procedure." By 1880 abortion had...show more content...
Though this is the true definition, pro life supporters believe that "life" begins as soon as conception happens according to ThoughtCo. These two
definitions are both similar and different due to the fact that they stand for different things. Pro life supporters believe that as soon as a child is
conceived, their life begins. This means that the child doesn't even have to be born to be considered a living thing, but instead conceived. Once this
happens, a child is considered to be "murdered" if abortion occurs. The true definition of life states that as soon as a child is born until it dies, it is
considered a form of "life." The ThoughtCo also states that "No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another
human without punishment, and abortion is no different." Since the child has no say on whether they want their lives taken or not, abortion shouldn't
be allowed or practiced

Pros and cons about abortion
The benefits of abortion are represented by saving the life of the pregnant women when there is such a risk to their life or their babies' life, the
latter is different from country to another. It is also useful in the rape conditions especially for minors, who are not prepared to take care of a baby.
While there are benefits for abortion, of course there are disadvantages for it as it is consider as deny someone deserve to live. Moreover, abortion

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Abortion
Should abortion be legalized and what are advantages or disadvantages of abortion?
All human beings are given some non–transferable rights that are impossible to take away and guaranteed by the Constitution. One of the most
important given privileges is the right to seek happiness for each person. Many people around the world consider abortion as inhumane and brutal as
murder. In some cases, abortion might be justifiable as according to supporters of abortion emphasize that an unborn baby cannot be considered as a
person who has to be protected and treated safe. With this very controversial social issue like abortion on our hands, there are so many difficulties in

According to the dictionary knowledge of abortion, it can be defined as: "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a foetus that

human life. It cannot be easily judged whether it is right or wrong, but both sides are open for interpretation, and supportive knowledges and evidences.
Abortion has been debated by two different groups such as pro–choice and pro–life party. These two groups offer different solutions and arguments to
problem and issue of abortion. Supporters of pro–choice commonly argued that various contraceptives are not perfectly effective and a baby should not
be born in the world if this pregnancy is not wanted and intended. In other word, pro–life supporters argued that abortion can cause medical
complications and a health risks for pregnant women, the child can live a full life with a harmonious family who has a plan to adopt this

Conflict Theory On Abortion
From a sociological perspective, the conflict theory focuses on opposing interests of groups and the struggle to agree on norms and over the control
of scarce resources. It is very well known that people have their own definitions for things, different cultures, religions and values all come into
account. Certain behaviors are defined as deviant or acceptable by powerful groups and because of failure of consensus with the other groups, conflict
arises. When people in a position try to enforce conformity, this creates resistance and resentment; the result is a constant struggle throughout society to
determine who has authority over what. The choice to abort or to choose life is either a life–saver to some or a crime to others. The conflict perspective

Public health researchers with the UC San Francisco group, Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health, conducted a longitudinal study of 956
women who sought an abortion and were turned away. Diana Foster's study reveals what happened to the women's economic standing, health and
relationship status after being denied their right. She claims that, "When a woman is denied the abortion she wants, she is statistically more likely
to wind up unemployed, on public assistance, and below the poverty line" (Newitz). This is clear because one of the major factors in a woman's
decision to abort, is because of her awareness that she will not be able to financially support her child. One of a woman's most formidable fears is
to fail to adequately raise her child and provide him with his greatest odds to succeed. Naturally, a mother's ultimate goal is for her children to have a
better life than she did. This fuels the majority of people's ambition and determination to obtain a comfortable and promising life style, to then pass on
to their offspring. Women living in poverty seek abortions because they do not want to bring a child in a life of misery and suffering. The decision to
terminate a pregnancy is not just blindly decided, all aspects of the mother's and child's life are considered. In fact, after initially being denied the
right to abort, the survey demonstrates that 45% of the women were on public assistance (Newitz). However, Foster concludes, "a year later, they
were far more likely to be on public assistance – 76% of the turnaways were on the dole...67% percent of the turnaways were below the poverty line"
(Newitz). Therefore, it is evident that not allowing women to legally have abortions creates more strain on the state because of these mothers' increased
dependence on social assistance programs.

and reasonable because a baby does breath, eat, sleep and develop after birth. Also wrong because not only does the baby breath, eat, sleep, and develop

Why Do Women Get Abortion Essay
Every year their is a ratio of 200 abortions per 1000 births. Regardless of how many abortions happen every year women should still have the full right
to abort if they want to abort their child. The definition of abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the
first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Also women are getting treated differently whenever they get anabortion but they have their own rights. Some women just
can't afford having a child so they terminate their pregnancy. Not to mention, other people don't understand the reasons of why women get abortions.
All women should get to feel like their decision was the right decision. Abortion is the right choice for women in cases of sexual assault, women's

Persuasive Essay on Abortion
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The
definition of abortion is; "The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of
normal growth." These pro–life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know
that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year
because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–choice.

The choice of her keeping the child would result in her getting kicked out of her home, she'd be finically unable to support the baby, and she would

terminate the pregnancy. Pro–choice supports the idea she would learn from her mistake and that ultimately it was her choice to do what she wished
with her body. Even though these "Pro Life supporters" think giving up your child for adoption is a better choice than an abortion, but those
children would be forced to live in an unfit foster home till they age out of the system. After they turn 18 they are out on the streets what makes the
women who would rather just have an abortion have to think about when they know their child is in a foster home and probably no better off than
where they would be if she would have just kept it? You have to deal with the emotional circumstances after an abortion for a while but you have to
deal with not knowing what the child you gave up has to go through on a daily basis everyday of your life is a lot harder than the emotional toll of an

Women's Right and Abortion Essay
Before women had rights to decide whether they could keep their baby, some states didn't allow abortion, therefore requiring women to give birth to
their child. In today's current issues, abortion is still a controversial subject with millions of people supporting it or not supporting it. Every woman has
the right to make changes to her own physical body, and those rights should not be taken away, according to the constitution. In the very famous case in
1973, "Roe v. Wade", the United States Supreme Court legalized abortion throughout the first trimester of pregnancy. In the article, "Roe's Pro

birth abortions was unconstitutional." The article also mentions that women need personal privacy and the First Amendment, Fourth Amendment,
Ninth Amendment, and Fourteenth Amendment gave women the rights to their own personal freedom (Berkowitz 2001). As learned in class, the
First Amendment of the United States gave people the right to express their speech, religion, press, and assembly freely. The Fourth Amendment
gave the right for people to search your house but only with a warrant. The Fourteenth Amendment dealt with equal protection rights. Legalized
abortion gives women a relief because they know that they are the owners of their body and control it and give consent or don't give consent to an
abortion. If a woman becomes raped and unfortunately becomes pregnant, she won't feel obligated to keep a baby from a stranger or from a
psychopath who rapes random women. The raped victim also might not like the idea of carrying a child from which she was raped because she will
constantly be reminded that she was raped and once again feel the endless pain. In the article, Humiliation, Degradation, Penetration", it is mentioned
how females who have been raped feel that it is unjust and psychologically unfair to keep the baby from a rape incident (Green 2013). Additionally,

What is Abortion
Abortion is the term used to describe the premature expulsion of the foetus from the womb, or the operation to cause this. It is when a pregnant
woman intentionally gets rid of her child before it is fully developed.
Abortion is an extremely topical issue and has been practised for many centuries, although it only became legal in Britain in 1967. This was because
an act was passed to encourage women not to have dangerous 'Back Street Abortions'. People who had no medical experience often carried these out.

When forming an opinion on an issue such as abortion, a Christian would look towards many things to help them.
Jesus and his teachings in the New Testament are extremely important to Christians, as many of the ideas on lifestyle are still relevant today.
Although Jesus never actually used the term abortion, nor does he preach about the idea of getting rid of an unborn child he does tell us that we
'Shall not kill'. This rule could be applied to abortion, as you are technically killing someone. There are frequent reminders in the New Testament to
love God and you neighbour as yourself. With this lesson in mind, Christians could form the opinion that if they were an unborn baby, would they want
someone to choose whether they would ever actually make it to being a human being in the real world. Another important message in the gospel of

Abortion (noun):
a. Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival.
b.Any of various procedures that result in such termination and expulsion. Also called induced abortion.
As stated above, abortion is the termination of a fetus. In other words, the fetus dies, whether by the mother's choice or by accident (such as a
miscarriage or stillbirth.) Medically, all terminations of pregnancy not resulting in a live birth are defined as abortions. Each year throughout the world,
45million abortions are performed. Compare this to 128.6 million births per year and you get approximately 35% of fetuses each year that never get a

This is because the fathers want a male heir to carry on the family name and be the man of the house instead of a daughter who is thought to be weak

"Morning–After Pill" the morning following rape, incest or sexual intercourse. This prevents the zygote from attaching to the wall inside of the uterus.
The other form of chemical abortion can be done later on in the pregnancy. In this one, the doctor can administer the chemical RU–486. Some of these
abortions (approximately 8%) need a surgical follow–up, usually by vacuum aspiration. There are a few types of surgical abortions but the most
common forms are Manual Vacuum Aspiration abortion, which consists of removing the fetus or embryo by suction using a manual syringe. The
Electric Vacuum Aspiration abortion method uses suction that is produced by an electric pump to remove the fetus or embryo. Neither of these
procedures sounds enjoyable. Abortion should be illegal in the state of Michigan because it violates the right to life for that unborn child, there are too

During the colonial period, women were permitted to have abortion up until "quickening", the stage of pregnancy when the mother felt fetal movement
(Dine, 2013). The procedures were performed by skilled midwives and other medical professional; methods used to abort fetuses were recorded in
colonial medical books. By the 19th century, American attitudes toward abortion began to shift mainly due to new English laws prohibiting the
practice. In 1873, a federal law known as the Comstock Act made the dissemination of literature and items used for contraception as well as herbal
remedies use as abortifacient illegal. Violators of the Comstock Act received five years in prison and was fined $2,000 (Britannica, 2016). Furthermore,
the male–dominated medical establishment often backed the laws prohibiting abortions in order to push midwives and homeopaths out of the child

prevent immigrants from southern and eastern Europe from "invading" America. At the turn of the century, abortion was illegal unless used to save the

Abortion is not only a woman's right, it is a woman's choice. Allowing abortion to e legal is immoral. A pre–born child is given the status of a product
of pregnancy and never seen as the miracle only a woman can create. Compassion for the small one is drowned out under a demand for rights, but
what about the rights for the unborn. A woman has a right to her own body is an idea more and more women are realizing, but that idea ignores
the unborn child's right to his or her own body. Never, in modern times, has the state granted to one citizen the right to have another killed in order
to solve their personal, social, or economic problems. The embryo is its own being that should have it's own rights to protect it. The zygote is a
unique genetic being. If one were to abort an embryo then that embryo, that human life would never be duplicated again. For example, a scientist
that may have found the cure to A.I.D.S would be killed. There is a better way to solve our problems than by killing children. A fertilized egg is the
most beautiful, most innocent being that we could ever create and can redeem even our worst mistakes. This fertilized egg is not just a mass of

presence and there are several reasons to why a person can be at one with God. In the Old Testament it says that God made man in his own image:
'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.'[4]
This Biblical statement claims that there is a divine link between man and God and that we reflect God's image. Therefore it could be said that a
person's life is divine and sacred as it represents God as his own creation and this echoes the idea of the sanctity of life. Another example that shows
the relationship a person has with God is the following:
'Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst knit me together in mothers womb; I praise thee for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are thy
works! Thou knowest me right well; my frame was not hidden from thee, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depth of the
earth.'[5]
The belief illustrated here is that a person has a relationship with God from conception. It is said here that God knows a

Abortion Definition

  • 1. Abortion Definition Abortion, virtually killing, defies the word of God. The Bible contains many rules and regulations to which we are commanded not to break. The Greek word brephos is used to describe an unborn child and an infant, and it's mentioned countless times in all versions of the Bible. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee...". This means that God created every single person, and planned for them to grow up and live a spiritual life. He knew everyone's name before they were ever created. He even knew how many hairs would be on their head before they ever entered their mother's womb. He NEVER intended for them to die. Exodus 20:13 says, "You shall not murder" Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Abortion by google definition is a deliberate termination of ta human pregnancy. This, in fact, is a termination of a human life and should be deemed as murder. Abortion is a severely understated reality of the disregard and disrespect of human life. I believe that every human life should be treasured and respected, I feel abortion diminishes the meaning of life. There is a clear indication in science that like begins at conception. The fusion of the zygote is where human life beings, each zygote has its own unique combination of DNA which makes up a human. Biological life has certain life requirements which include metabolism, reproduction, growth, and reactions to stimuli according to Family Research Council. The zygote fits all there...show more content... The consequences of abortion are possible and psychological risks to women. The physical risks include excessive bleeding, infection and incompetent cervix. Abortion may lead to other risks involving future pregnancies such as the double increase of the risks of sterility and the increase of the chances of a future ectopic pregnancy. According to Birthmothers 85% of woman have negative emotional effects after abortion. These include depression, anxiety, eating disorders and thoughts of suicide. Abortion changes a woman's life forever therefore abortion not only takes a life but damages another as well. The only instances abortion can be justifiable or even thinkable are under serious circumstances. This includes rape which leaves the woman as a victim of a serious crime. The abortion can be seen as understandable die to the possible emotional damage that can occur to the woman if the baby was carried to full term. The only other instant that abortion may be seen as necessary is if the mother is a severe health risk caused by the pregnancy. Every living life deserves the right to be respected regardless of the stage of development. The unborn baby should be protected from the time of conception this is when life begins. Society's idea of abortion should not be that it is a convenient solution rather abortion should be seen for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Reflection Paper On Abortion I, as any other person, have beliefs that I feel very strongly about. The belief I feel most strongly support is pro–life. Abortion is a very controversial topic in today's world, with there being many different opinions on the matter. The two ends of the spectrum are pro–life and pro–choice. There are those that believe that abortion is always wrong, and there are those that believe abortion is always the choice of the mother. In between these two extremes are those who are more moderate. Some of these moderates believe in abortion up to a certain status of the growth of the fetus, and there are others who believe abortion is acceptable in cases of rape. I personally believe that abortion is wrong in every case. My opinion on abortion has been shaped and strengthened by many factors throughout my life, with some of these factors being: my parents, Christianity, and Fox News. Without these factors, there is a high probability that my opinion on the subject could be different. I personally believe that abortion is wrong in every case because I believe that the fetus, or unborn child, deserves a chance to live, despite any circumstances. Cases of rape, endangerment of the mother's life, and endangerment of the child's life during childbirth are more controversial and often harder to justify, but I believe the fetus always deserves the chance to live. In the case of rape, I believe that abortion is still wrong. Although the mother has been violated in the most heartbreaking way, the unborn human being still has extensive value and worth. An article I read on Save the Storks states, "Why does my sister have any less value, or right to life, because of how she was conceived?" (McDowell n. pag.). This quote is from Sean McDowell. His youngest sister, who was adopted by his family shortly after her birth, was conceived in rape. The birth mother was only fourteen years of age when she gave birth to the girl. Although the baby was conceived in a terrible way, the mother chose to give the baby life and now the baby is a grown woman and living a joyful life. If this baby had been aborted, this baby would have never lived a full life. Thus, many lives would have been affected, including the lives of McDowell's family. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Abortion Right or Wrong? In January 2002 a college freshman, Karen Hubbard, bled to death after secretly delivering her baby in a bathroom stall at her dorm. Up until that night no one knew she was pregnant, not her family or her friends. Karen was a bright respected young girl, who had everything going for her. She was co–valedictorian at her school and was now on her way to college. In the fall of 2001 Karen went off to the University of Wisconsin, with high hopes from her parents. She was the last person anyone expected to get pregnant, but, on January 29, that all changed. It was around ten o' clock at night when Karen's roommate walked into the bathroom and realized Karen was giving birth. She heard a gush of water that...show more content... Only a women knows what this means, so shouldn't she have the final say in what takes place in her body? Recently there has been an article put on a website that talks about pro–life and why pro–life should be the only option. In the article, it states the issues that make a women's right to get an abortion wrong and that abortions should be outlawed. It says that no one should deny the fetus the right to live, that it is a human being and should be protected by the law like everyone else. That if one did not want to be pregnant there is safe and effective birth controls out there. And that society needs to be more excepting of teen mothers. True there are safe birth controls out there, but not one is totally one hundred percent effective. And no matter how hard people try society is never going to except teen mothers. There are still teens today that are not using a form of birth control. They are too afraid to bring this subject up with their parents and this can result in unsafe sex. Due to this there are many teens that become pregnant and chooses not to tell their parents. They feel their parents will look down upon them, because that is how society sees young mothers. So they decide to fix this problem, the only way they know how, by getting an abortion. As of now, a teenager still has the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Abortion Outline Definition of an Abortion An abortion is the medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby. It is also sometimes known as a 'termination' or a 'termination of pregnancy'. Depending on how many weeks you have been pregnant, the pregnancy is ended either by taking medication or by having a surgical procedure. An abortion is not the same as a miscarriage, which is where the pregnancy is lost or ends naturally. The loss starts without medical intervention, although medical or surgical treatment may be needed after a miscarriage has started to help empty the womb. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Abortion /Pages/Introduction.aspx Why do some women choose to terminate their pregnancies? Age – Most abortions...show more content... Methods of pregnancy termination include: The use of the abortion pill which is the use of a combination of the medicines mifepristone and misoprostol. Surgical abortion Use of the Abortion Pill Mifepristone and misoprostol are synthetic steroids medication which are used to terminate a pregnancy while it is still in the early stages(70 days or less since a females last menstrual cycle).Using the medication after the time period increases the likelihood of complications arising. The use of the combination of the medications blocks the activity of the hormone progesterone, a hormone necessary for the continuation of a pregnancy. The lack of progesterone causes the lining of the uterus to break down and contracts the womb. The use of the pills is 90% successful in deliberately terminating pregnancies.

  • 7. Definition Of Abortion Abortion is a widely discussed and argued topic that not many people can agree on it seems like. The dictionary definition is "the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy." My definition would be "ending a potential human life due to careless acts and or other reasons." Many sites will say that no matter the reason, a human fetus should not be "killed" no matter what has happened in order to conceive this child. There are also people who believe that women should be able to have an abortion and everything be fine. No matter what the situation, I believe that women have the right to choose what they do with their bodies and their children in their lives. According to CNN, "states have enacted more than 1,074 laws limiting access to an abortion procedure." By 1880 abortion had...show more content... Though this is the true definition, pro life supporters believe that "life" begins as soon as conception happens according to ThoughtCo. These two definitions are both similar and different due to the fact that they stand for different things. Pro life supporters believe that as soon as a child is conceived, their life begins. This means that the child doesn't even have to be born to be considered a living thing, but instead conceived. Once this happens, a child is considered to be "murdered" if abortion occurs. The true definition of life states that as soon as a child is born until it dies, it is considered a form of "life." The ThoughtCo also states that "No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different." Since the child has no say on whether they want their lives taken or not, abortion shouldn't be allowed or practiced Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Objective 2: to explain what are the types and methods of abortion Objective 3: to illustrate the pros and cons of abortion Objective 4: to state professional's point of views about abortion Objective 5: to state the Islamic judgment about abortion Introduction As you go through many biomedical researches, probably you will find some common topics that consider being the most interesting topics in the biomedical ethical field to be discuss, one of these topics is abortion. The term abortion means the termination of a pregnancy by evacuating a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Pros and cons about abortion The benefits of abortion are represented by saving the life of the pregnant women when there is such a risk to their life or their babies' life, the latter is different from country to another. • 9. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Abortion Should abortion be legalized and what are advantages or disadvantages of abortion? All human beings are given some non–transferable rights that are impossible to take away and guaranteed by the Constitution. One of the most important given privileges is the right to seek happiness for each person. Many people around the world consider abortion as inhumane and brutal as murder. In some cases, abortion might be justifiable as according to supporters of abortion emphasize that an unborn baby cannot be considered as a person who has to be protected and treated safe. With this very controversial social issue like abortion on our hands, there are so many difficulties in determining if abortion is considered as right or wrong. In addition, abortion has been treated as one of the most disputed topics in our society. It has been continually...show more content... It cannot be easily judged whether it is right or wrong, but both sides are open for interpretation, and supportive knowledges and evidences. Abortion has been debated by two different groups such as pro–choice and pro–life party. These two groups offer different solutions and arguments to problem and issue of abortion. Supporters of pro–choice commonly argued that various contraceptives are not perfectly effective and a baby should not be born in the world if this pregnancy is not wanted and intended. Conflict Theory On Abortion From a sociological perspective, the conflict theory focuses on opposing interests of groups and the struggle to agree on norms and over the control of scarce resources. It is very well known that people have their own definitions for things, different cultures, religions and values all come into account. Certain behaviors are defined as deviant or acceptable by powerful groups and because of failure of consensus with the other groups, conflict arises. When people in a position try to enforce conformity, this creates resistance and resentment; the result is a constant struggle throughout society to determine who has authority over what. The choice to abort or to choose life is either a life–saver to some or a crime to others. The conflict perspective ...show more content... Public health researchers with the UC San Francisco group, Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health, conducted a longitudinal study of 956 women who sought an abortion and were turned away. Diana Foster's study reveals what happened to the women's economic standing, health and relationship status after being denied their right. She claims that, "When a woman is denied the abortion she wants, she is statistically more likely to wind up unemployed, on public assistance, and below the poverty line" (Newitz). This is clear because one of the major factors in a woman's decision to abort, is because of her awareness that she will not be able to financially support her child. One of a woman's most formidable fears is to fail to adequately raise her child and provide him with his greatest odds to succeed. Naturally, a mother's ultimate goal is for her children to have a better life than she did. This fuels the majority of people's ambition and determination to obtain a comfortable and promising life style, to then pass on to their offspring. Women living in poverty seek abortions because they do not want to bring a child in a life of misery and suffering. The decision to terminate a pregnancy is not just blindly decided, all aspects of the mother's and child's life are considered. In fact, after initially being denied the right to abort, the survey demonstrates that 45% of the women were on public assistance (Newitz). However, Foster concludes, "a year later, they were far more likely to be on public assistance – 76% of the turnaways were on the dole...67% percent of the turnaways were below the poverty line" (Newitz). Therefore, it is evident that not allowing women to legally have abortions creates more strain on the state because of these mothers' increased dependence on social assistance programs. • 11. Definition Essay On Abortion The dictionary definition of life is, ВЁThe condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity of growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.ВЁ Life is when something has ВЁgrowth.ВЁ When a woman conceives making her pregnant there is automatically growth. Because human life begins at the moment of conception, getting an abortion is murder. In Kentucky abortion is only legal until around 20 weeks of pregnancy. After 20 weeks abortion is only allowed if the mother is in danger. Guttmacher Institute states ВЁAn abortion may be performed at 20 or more weeks post fertilization only if the womanЕ› life is endangered or if her physical health is several compromised." The dictionary definition explains, birth means ВЁThe emergence of a baby or other young from the body of itЕ› mother.ВЁ The explanation is simple because if a person believes life begins at birth the only reason would be, when a person is born they can now breath, eat, sleep, and develop, and reasonable because a baby does breath, eat, sleep and develop after birth. Also wrong because not only does the baby breath, eat, sleep, and develop after birth he/she also does before birth. Development happens throughout a pregnancy. After fertilization, then implantation(conception), the egg turns to an embryo, then a fetus, then a baby. Some of the development which happen between the transformations are, body parts and systems form and start to function, the senses of smell, taste, and sight start to work, the baby inhales and exhales amniotic fluid helping him/her learn to breath, and he/she starts to sleep. • 12. Why Do Women Get Abortion Essay Every year their is a ratio of 200 abortions per 1000 births. Regardless of how many abortions happen every year women should still have the full right to abort if they want to abort their child. The definition of abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Also women are getting treated differently whenever they get anabortion but they have their own rights. Some women just can't afford having a child so they terminate their pregnancy. Not to mention, other people don't understand the reasons of why women get abortions. All women should get to feel like their decision was the right decision. • 13. Persuasive Essay on Abortion Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; "The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth." These pro–life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–choice. The choice of her keeping the child would result in her getting kicked out of her home, she'd be finically unable to support the baby, and she would lose her education. With abortion she would not have to deal with these issues, though she would have to deal with the emotional aspect of deciding to terminate the pregnancy. Pro–choice supports the idea she would learn from her mistake and that ultimately it was her choice to do what she wished with her body. Even though these "Pro Life supporters" think giving up your child for adoption is a better choice than an abortion, but those children would be forced to live in an unfit foster home till they age out of the system. After they turn 18 they are out on the streets what makes the women who would rather just have an abortion have to think about when they know their child is in a foster home and probably no better off than where they would be if she would have just kept it? You have to deal with the emotional circumstances after an abortion for a while but you have to deal with not knowing what the child you gave up has to go through on a daily basis everyday of your life is a lot harder than the emotional toll of an abortion Even though many people practice pro–life because of their religion, it may be surprising to learn that catholic women are 29% more likely to get an abortion than Protestant women, though they are as likely as all women to do Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Women's Right and Abortion Essay Before women had rights to decide whether they could keep their baby, some states didn't allow abortion, therefore requiring women to give birth to their child. In today's current issues, abortion is still a controversial subject with millions of people supporting it or not supporting it. Every woman has the right to make changes to her own physical body, and those rights should not be taken away, according to the constitution. In the very famous case in 1973, "Roe v. Wade", the United States Supreme Court legalized abortion throughout the first trimester of pregnancy. As learned in class, the First Amendment of the United States gave people the right to express their speech, religion, press, and assembly freely. The Fourth Amendment gave the right for people to search your house but only with a warrant. The Fourteenth Amendment dealt with equal protection rights. Legalized abortion gives women a relief because they know that they are the owners of their body and control it and give consent or don't give consent to an abortion. If a woman becomes raped and unfortunately becomes pregnant, she won't feel obligated to keep a baby from a stranger or from a psychopath who rapes random women. The raped victim also might not like the idea of carrying a child from which she was raped because she will constantly be reminded that she was raped and once again feel the endless pain. In the article, Humiliation, Degradation, Penetration", it is mentioned how females who have been raped feel that it is unjust and psychologically unfair to keep the baby from a rape incident (Green 2013). It is when a pregnant woman intentionally gets rid of her child before it is fully developed. Abortion is an extremely topical issue and has been practised for many centuries, although it only became legal in Britain in 1967. This was because an act was passed to encourage women not to have dangerous 'Back Street Abortions'. People who had no medical experience often carried these out. They teach that every life is sacred and that it begins right at the moment of conception. However, there are pro–choice groups who believe that it is the woman's own choice. Christians are found supporting both causes. A. (ii) Explain what Christian teachings might be used in a discussion about abortion. When forming an opinion on an issue such as abortion, a Christian would look towards many things to help them. Jesus and his teachings in the New Testament are extremely important to Christians, as many of the ideas on lifestyle are still relevant today. Although Jesus never actually used the term abortion, nor does he preach about the idea of getting rid of an unborn child he does tell us that we 'Shall not kill'. This rule could be applied to abortion, as you are technically killing someone. There are frequent reminders in the New Testament to love God and you neighbour as yourself. With this lesson in mind, Christians could form the opinion that if they were an unborn baby, would they want someone to choose whether they would ever actually make it to being a human being in the real world. Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival. b.Any of various procedures that result in such termination and expulsion. Also called induced abortion. As stated above, abortion is the termination of a fetus. In other words, the fetus dies, whether by the mother's choice or by accident (such as a miscarriage or stillbirth.) Medically, all terminations of pregnancy not resulting in a live birth are defined as abortions. Each year throughout the world, 45million abortions are performed. Compare this to 128.6 million births per year and you get approximately 35% of fetuses each year that never get a chance to live. When discussing abortion, one aspect to...show more content... This is because the fathers want a male heir to carry on the family name and be the man of the house instead of a daughter who is thought to be weak and worthless. The two main types of induced abortions are chemical and surgical. With the chemical abortions, a woman can choose to take the "Morning–After Pill" the morning following rape, incest or sexual intercourse. This prevents the zygote from attaching to the wall inside of the uterus. The other form of chemical abortion can be done later on in the pregnancy. In this one, the doctor can administer the chemical RU–486. Some of these abortions (approximately 8%) need a surgical follow–up, usually by vacuum aspiration. There are a few types of surgical abortions but the most common forms are Manual Vacuum Aspiration abortion, which consists of removing the fetus or embryo by suction using a manual syringe. The Electric Vacuum Aspiration abortion method uses suction that is produced by an electric pump to remove the fetus or embryo. Neither of these procedures sounds enjoyable. The two forms of abortion happens by way of induction; either medically or surgically. The other form of abortion is spontaneous (miscarriage), which happen for various reason such as infection, malnutrition, substance abuse and the age of the mother. According to the Guttmacher Institute, a non–profit public health organization that specializes in research use to promote reproductive and sexual health rights globally, in 2011, inducedabortion procedures were use in half of the unplanned pregnancies in the United States (Guttmacher Institute , 2016). During the colonial period, women were permitted to have abortion up until "quickening", the stage of pregnancy when the mother felt fetal movement (Dine, 2013). The procedures were performed by skilled midwives and other medical professional; methods used to abort fetuses were recorded in colonial medical books. By the 19th century, American attitudes toward abortion began to shift mainly due to new English laws prohibiting the practice. In 1873, a federal law known as the Comstock Act made the dissemination of literature and items used for contraception as well as herbal remedies use as abortifacient illegal. Violators of the Comstock Act received five years in prison and was fined $2,000 (Britannica, 2016). Furthermore, the male–dominated medical establishment often backed the laws prohibiting abortions in order to push midwives and homeopaths out of the child birthing process. Nativist who perceived abortion as an act of "race suicide "encouraged white Anglo–Saxon women to have more children in order to prevent immigrants from southern and eastern Europe from "invading" America. Allowing abortion to e legal is immoral. A pre–born child is given the status of a product of pregnancy and never seen as the miracle only a woman can create. Compassion for the small one is drowned out under a demand for rights, but what about the rights for the unborn. A woman has a right to her own body is an idea more and more women are realizing, but that idea ignores the unborn child's right to his or her own body. Never, in modern times, has the state granted to one citizen the right to have another killed in order to solve their personal, social, or economic problems. The embryo is its own being that should have it's own rights to protect it. The zygote is a unique genetic being. If one were to abort an embryo then that embryo, that human life would never be duplicated again. For example, a scientist that may have found the cure to A.I.D.S would be killed. There is a better way to solve our problems than by killing children. A fertilized egg is the most beautiful, most innocent being that we could ever create and can redeem even our worst mistakes. This fertilized egg is not just a mass of tissue, for if it were there would be no debate. It is immoral to kill; therefore, abortion is immoral.Abortion should be banned because life begins at conception. The individual sex cell consists of 23 chromosomes. As well as the views of some modern moral philosophers, the Christian view on this situation is to be discussed in this analysis. The Teaching of the Bible ========================= All Christians accept the Bible as a source of authority. A factor that shows the sanctity of a human life is the relationship between God and a person. Christians believe that they can experience God's presence and there are several reasons to why a person can be at one with God. In the Old Testament it says that God made man in his own image: 'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.'[4] This Biblical statement claims that there is a divine link between man and God and that we reflect God's image. Therefore it could be said that a person's life is divine and sacred as it represents God as his own creation and this echoes the idea of the sanctity of life. Another example that shows the relationship a person has with God is the following: 'Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst knit me together in mothers womb; I praise thee for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are thy works! Thou knowest me right well; my frame was not hidden from thee, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depth of the earth.'[5] The belief illustrated here is that a person has a relationship with God from conception. It is said here that God knows a
