 Manage the activities and resources of the Applications
Development Division in an efficient and effective manner
and ensuring that information technology are in line with
Fund objectives
 Provide day-to-day management of Applications
Development Divisional activities and resources.
 Identify short, medium and long term information system
requirements of the Fund.
 Research, recommend and develop the necessary business
application software to support agreed objectives, within
budget and to agreed quality standards.
 Establish Applications Developments annual objectives.
Achieve these objectives in a timely manner.
 Ensure that, within approved budgets, resources are
available to meet the Fund's information processing needs.
 Achieve the highest levels of professional standards of
performance in Divisional activities.
 Assist in devising and implementing a plan for Saudization,
capitalizing on opportunities for Saudi upward mobility.
 Ensure that adequate and appropriate training is provided to
staff.
 Liaise with all departments to establish a communications
channel for identifying business application software
requirements to meet their objectives.
 Identify best possible ways to integrate departmental
business needs, in order to streamline the business
operations of the Fund.
 Provide an on-going process of re-engineering the business
application software legacy to accommodate the
implementation of emerging Information Technologies.

As User Support Division Manger
Job Responsibilities:
> Manage the activities and resources of the End User Support
Division and ensuring that information technology are in line
with Fund objectives and operational and available to the users
at all time
> Provide day-to-day management of End User Support
Divisional activities and resources to provide professional
level of services.
> Establish End User Support annual objectives. Achieve these
objectives in a timely manner.
> Liaise with all Departments and other Divisions within the
department to identify the business application software
support requirements to meet their objectives.
> Support the users in the use of business application software.
> Provide maintenance support to the users for all current
applications and ad-hoc enhancement requests.
> Provide training and assistance to users in the use of
Information Technology.
> Provide a "Help Desk" service to the users.
> Identify IT training requirements. Develop and co-ordinate
training plans to meet these requirements in order to
enhance the use of IT within the Fund.
> Provide training and education facilities and services to
support the implementation of Information Systems.
> Liaise with the Human Resources Training and Career
Development function.
> Ensure the quality of delivered business application software

> Secure and maintain the integrity of the corporate data.
> Provide chargeable consultancy services, in the best use of

Major Challenges/Achievements during my career:
1) Established Project Management Office(PMO)
Established PMO team within SIDF IT Department in order to ensure appropriate governance
for IT projects. This PMO function was tasked with automating the management of projects
using internationally accepted methods. To achieve this, the PMI methodology was adopted
and the Microsoft EPM tool was configured to automate and standardize the project
governance. In addition, pre-determined gateways were established where project deliverables
are monitored for quality purpose.
2) ISO Certifications
We were able to get the following accreditations for SIDF IT Department and am proud that
these projects were/are under my direct responsibility:

3) Representation in various National committees
> Member of "IT & Telecommunication committee" formed by Ministry of Finance .
> Representing SIDF in the National Committee for E-Governance
> Representing SIDF in Yesser Committee
4) As Project Manager Y2K implementation
Was the Project Manager for the Y2K project, which was successfully implemented with zero faults.
The team had to investigate, modify and test many applications developed under traditional languages
(COBOL, Fortran etc.). The team consisted of more than 50 persons from various disciplines.
5) As Project Manager, Conversion of Software Applications from Cobol/Ingres to
Sybase PowerBuilder and Database conversion from Ingres to MS SQLServer.
Was the project manager for this complex and tedious task of converting the legacy systems. We had
to convert more than 50 applications, data migration to the new Database and train the users to use
the new applications. Everything went smoothly without even a single day down time.
6) Upgrade of Information Technology from a Division to a Department. Information
Technology was a Division which got upgraded to a fully functional Department having 4 Divisions
currently. Also ITD PMO was set up during my leadership as IT Manager.
