Meeting Notes Mr. Shakirullah Khan and Team, GM HR&Admin National Telecommunication Corporation(NTC) Discussion Points Stakeholder’s Input ICT HR Demand • ICT Skills required ( local, Int’l…) • Number of ICT Professionals Required. (local, Int’l…) • ICT Certificates in demand • Current need & Future Trends. Need for National Training Academy same like Etisalat Academy of PTCL may be studied. System based trainings e.g Full fledge exchange of PTCL is in Haripur for students. The land available at Westridge mentioned is also not now advisable due to some legal complications in ownership of the land. 30 NTC sites marked for the establishment of Telecenters ( being constructed by USF) may be considered. However, these will need to be extended further in order to prepare these for training purpose. Way Forward • Target audience for training and their needs. • Number of trainings to be conducted. • ICT Training Models channels (MOOC, ILT, hybrid, others) to be used. • Program rollout approach suggestions. • Other suggestions Consultancy/Feasibility to translate the theme . Approval/go-ahead for using USF identified NTC sites . To seek layout plan from USF and visit to these sites, if needed. PTA may also be asked for provision of any land with them, if any. Liaison with universities could be effective Free space of schools in vacations and evening for classes can be considered. 4
