Work-related Courses and Projects
2014 /12 – 2015 /9: Master thesis: Integration of 2D architectural floor plans into Indoor OpenStreetMap for reconstructing 3D building
models
Tools: Python, QGis , PostgreSQL, Eclipse JAVA
Description: The aim of this project is to semi-automatically process 2D geometry contained in daily architectural floor
plans to construct closed contours of indoor spaces for simple 3D extrusion.
2014 /9 - 2014 /11 : Synthesis project: Research on Wi-Fi indoor locationing in ‘De Rotterdam’ building
Tools: Python, Matlab, , QGis
Description: The aim of this project is to develop a working prototype application to find and display the location of a
colleague in a high-rise building (‘De Rotterdam’) using techniques of Wi-Fi fingerprinting and trilateration.
2014 /3 - 2014 /6 :Course: Computer Graphics
Tools: C++, OpenGL
Description: This course covers theoretical knowledge about computer graphics. The final project is to develop a ray-
racing program that can render 2D images from a simple 3D scene using multiple imaginable effects, ranging
from reflections and refractions to soft shadows and textures and so on.
2. 2013 /1 – 2013 /6: Bachelor thesis: Positioning of ships based on images from ZY-3 Surveying and Mapping Satellite and correction of
the satellite images
Tools: Matlab
Description: This thesis covers recognition of ships on satellite images, retrieval of information about the sailing course
and calculation of ships’ geographical location based photogrammetry principles. The correction of the
satellite images is achieved by determining the differences between the calculated coordinates with real-time
monitoring GPS data of the ships.
2012 /3 – 2012 /6 : Programming design of control network adjustment using Matlab
Tools: Matlab
Description: The aim of this project is to develop an automatic adjustment program for control networks, including
reading observation data from a control network, estimated coordinates calculation, adjustment calculation,
precision evaluation and error ellipse calculation.
2011 /9 - 2011 /12 : C++ Programming design of leveling network adjustment
Tools: C++
Description: The aim of this project is to develop an automatic adjustment program for leveling networks, including
reading observed leveling data, adjustment calculation and precision evaluation.
2011 /9 -- 2011 /12 : Course: Digital Image Processing
Tools: VC++
Description: This course covers theoretical knowledge about digital image processing. The final project is to develop
prototype software with basic editing functions of digital images (grayscale and true color).
