I. Introduction
 What is motivation?
Motivation is one of the most critical components of learning.
Influenced by a student’s personality, abilities, and task itself,
incentives for learning, the setting, and teachers’ behaviors.

II. Sources of Motivation
 The sources of motivation can be categorized as either
intrinsic and extrinsic.

Intrinsic
 refers to motivation that source comes from inside an individual
rather than from any external or outside rewards or punishments.
 Need

Extrinsic
 extrinsic motivation refers to motivation that source comes from
outside an individual.
 Social factor

IV. Multiple intelligences eight way of
knowing Logical/Mathematical intelligence : Often call scientific thinking this intelligence deals
with inductive and deductive thinking and numbering.
 Visual/ Spatial intelligence relate to relies on the sense of sight and being able to
visualize and object, includes the ability to create internal mental images and pictures.

 Bodily/Kinesthetic intelligence: this intelligence is related to Physical movement and
the knowing and wisdom of the body, including the brain’s motor cortex, which controls
bodily motion.
 Musical/Rhythmic intelligence: base on the recognition of tonal patterns, including
various environmental sounds, and on a sensitivity to rhythm and beats.

 Naturalist intelligence: this intelligence deals with the recognition, appreciation, and
understanding to the flora and fauna of the natural world.
 Interpersonal intelligence: this intelligence operates primarily through person to person
relationships and communication.

 Intrapersonal intelligence: this intelligence related to the inner and states of being, self
reflection, metacognition (thinking about thinking )and awareness of spiritual realities.
 Verbal intelligence: this intelligence which is related to words and language written and
spoken dominates most western education systems.

In conclusion, motivation is the most important factor that involve in many particular
ways for teacher and students. Without motivation people life can’t improve.
Motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, is a key factor in the success of students at all
stages of their education, and teachers can play a pivotal role in providing and encouraging
that motivation in their students.
