2. question
โข 1. How do your products use or challenge
conventions and how do they represent social
groups or issues?
3. โข My product is a music video and it uses the
typical codes and conventions of both its music
genre and type of video(narrative)
โข The video is told mainly through a flashback
wherein or protagonist regrets the choices hes
made and how he has ended up all alone
โข I have matched the footage to the lyrics of the
music as a form of literal exppression
4. Codes and conventions followed
โข As this is making use of the narrivtive format I have
used high angled/mid-angled shots zooms and pans
โข I have used this as it it makes sense to the audience
so they can follow and link it to the lyrics. This is
very popular with all genres as it leaves room for the
imagination. There are so many different variations
of this used and theres a lot of room for creativity
which can leave a video very memorable to the
audience. This is a great way of making a music video
stand out from the crowd and making it popular.
5. โข Narrative videos also hold peoples attention
better in comparison to a live performance as
what you are seeing is constantly changing and
keeps people entertained at all times. Even
people who arent necessarily a fan of the artist
may still enjoy the video so this method often
helps people gain success and status.
โข indie artists often have a retro/individually
unique look and this can be created through the
sets they use, props and also their own
appearance themselves.which enabled us
creative freedom
6. โข We also made use of vfx by adding the text from
a phone in the background during a scene where
we find out our protagonist is cheating on his
girlfriend
7. Social issues veiwed and challenged
โข The social issue represented here is about
making our own choices in life but however this
is challenged by stating by the fact despite have
the freedom to make our own choice it is up to
us to make the right one or we will end up
regretful, old and all alone
โข Its breaks typical code+convention by having a
narrative that does not seem to match the tone
and lyrics of the song until the end of it
