Editor's Notes
As you all know, our World is in trouble. Global warming, loss of biodiversity, access to food, rising demography and health issues represent the biggest challenges of the XXIth century.
At the same time, our Society are undergoing profound mutations. Let’s think about energy supplies, loss of the political faith, our interactions with technology, strong economical inequalities need answers.
To adresse these challenges, we all bet on innovation.
Knowledge, know-how and production facilities have never been as widespread and accessible as they are now, and it is cheaper than ever to innovate.
The paradigm in which we are now, BAU, incremental innovation, is showing its limits.
What we need is disruptive innovation.
Why this disruptive innovation doesn’t become mainstream? Why don’t we see more disruptive product?
We know talents and changemakers exist. They want to change the world in the best manner and aim at disrupting every sector. Infrastructures and projects aswell.
Let’s look back on what drives a project and helps him reaching success and scalability.
Michka and his great idea.
His idea works. It has to be prototyped and brought to the market with a valuable product. And this is where many brakes are coming into play.
As a biologist, aside traditional help such as business modeling and contact with business angels, he needs engineering,IT skills. He needs a diversity set of skills to put his idea into practice. He needs infrastructure and maker facilties to test his concept. He also needs visiblity.
As entrepreneurs, we all have these needs.
We deeply believe in mutualization and collaboration. We want to bring a diversity of actors that want to impact together into a land for smart solutions to collaborate around impactful projects.
This will help us, as entrepreneurs, to prototype our ideas.
We know many structures with the same goal exists.
We don’t want to reinvent the wheel. We don’t want to build a new incubator, a new coaching facility or a new fablab.
- Changemaker -> 1) Team with diverse backgrounds 2) Test and prototyping his product 3) Use of unused resources
Infrastructure -> 1) Acquire new users 2) Visibility
Frelancer -> Whether he is a lawyer, a accountant or a webdeveloper, to get involved in a project that really matters to him.
Startup -> Get support from freelance, changemakers and other startups in order to mutualize their needs
Company -> Sponsor/mentoring some projects and access to resources. We could even think that the community could serve these companies, ask for a team of 2 scientist, 1 engineer, 1 designer, to work on punctual projects.
If we go back to the land metaphor. As a changemaker, you can become a citizen.
