Dear Sir / madam,
Mr. Gustav Kamfer was appointed as Works Manager at our company
Machine Tool Promotions in April 2003. He served admirably in this
role for the following 1,5 years, until the time that he took on his next
career challenge. He returned to Machine Tool Promotions in the role of
General Manager in January 2008 till June 2009.
During this period, our company positioned ourselves as the leading
machine tool rebuilder in Southern Africa, and also exported several
fully modernized machine tools to the United States of America.
Throughout the early part of this period, Gustav was instrumental in
developing sound management processes for the growing company. He
managed the complete facility, both from a technical as well as
managerial perspective, also taking overall responsibility for the
personnel management.
He was one of the key players in our company’s success during this
period, and made numerous valuable contributions in specifically the
technical aspects of machine tool rebuilding. For this, he relied on a
very sound background in general engineering practises and specifically
machine tool maintenance. His in-depth knowledge in foundry
products and processes also allowed our company to expand our
product offering to the extending of machine beds, using large castings.
He is a very driven person, relying on his own inner strength and well-
balanced value system to guide his actions. He could remain focused
on the company’s core objectives during stressful periods and showed
the ability to balance conflicting requirements, as occurred all too often
in a company driven by several owners.
He would be a great asset to any company that could allow him
sufficient scope to develop his personal ambitions.
