2. Film Tagline
The film tagline will be at the top of my movie poster, positioned in the centre.
A film tagline has the purpose of adding dramatic effect to a film, which is
why I chose to have one on my movie poster because I want the audience
to be excited for the film. A lot of taglines are quotes of something
someone might say in a film but some are phrases that are associated to a
person, group or something else to do with the film. My tagline will be
related to the narrative of the film and will say something that can be
related to the game in our film ‘Hide & Seek.’
“All you need is one killer track.”
3. Main Image
The main image on a film poster is arguably the main feature of it because it is
usually the largest item on the page, meaning that it stands out the most.
The main image usually consists on a single person, usually the protagonist
because they are the most recognisable person. My main image on my
poster will be very large and will be situated in the middle on the page, right
in the centre so that it can be the focus of attention. The image will be a
shot of the protagonist in my film/film trailer and the shot will be a mid-
shot, so that the audience can see who it is and what the background is.
4. Film Title
The title of the film is a vital feature of a film poster because it is there to
inform people what the film is called. Without the title of the film,
someone who has been drawn in by the poster won’t be able to find out
what it is called, meaning they might not go and see it because they know
nothing about it. Some film posters have the title of the film at the top of
the page but after looking at a few other posters like the ‘Jaws’ film poster. I
decided to have mine just below the main image, but well above the bottom
of the page. I chose to have it here because then it allows the main image to
still be the focus of attention but the positioning means that the title can
still be seen.
5. Credits
Some of the credits for my film will be on my film poster as the largest body
of text. The credits aren’t as important as other things on my poster which
is why they are going to be positioned at the bottom of the page, below
everything. Some movie posters don’t include the credits which have the
actor’s names, editors, directors and other key people who made the film,
but I thought it was important for the actors names to be on there because
if the actor has a good reputation, it could make someone want to come
and see the film more.
