 A marketing director performs many duties aimed at
developing and implementing the long- and short-term
marketing strategies of his employe;
 Depending on the size of his organization, a marketing
director may also oversee a team of junior marketing
professionals.
Brand development
 Perhaps the most important duty performed by a
marketing director is the development of her employer’s
brand;
 In many environments, a marketing director represents
his employer in the media;
 He represents the firm at charitable events and other
happenings taking place throughout the community;
 Development and implementation of the
Brand strategy;
 Developing the marketing strategy for new
and existing products;
 Guiding the day to day activities of the
marketing team;
 Overseeing implementation of the Marketing
strategy - including campaigns, events,
digital marketing.
 They must know what your competition is
doing.
 They must be able to spot trends and act on
them first.
 They must stay up-to-date with news,
research, and any other information that
directly affects your product or service.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
 Confident, driven and dynamic leader;
 Professional attitude within the team;
 Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to
identify original branding opportunities;
 The marketing director should be able to
inform all customers of safe product
handling.
 The marketing director's responsibilities
involve , marketing, profitability and
sales, reporting, purchasing, inventory,
service, maintenance, and other duties
as requested by management.
 The marketing director will need to
maintain a positive attitude that
promotes teamwork within the company
and a favorable image of the company.
