To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express my interest in applying for a position as a staff pharmacist with Summa
Healthcare Systems. On May 8, 2016, I graduated fromOhio Northern University'sRaabe College of
Pharmacy with nine months of targeted experience with criticalcare, hospice and palliative care,
medication therapy management, and direct patient care; although I will only have about a year of
clinical experience through my advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs),Iwill bring
passion for the position, genuine compassion forpatients I help, and motivation to continue
learning and collaborating with the patient care team.
When I first started in school,I had no idea where my interest in pharmacy wouldtake me, but
through my APPE experiences, I gained immense respect for the physicians, nurses, chaplains, and
social workers whodedicate themselves to providing the best possible quality of care for patients
affectedby acute and chronic illnesses. I was born in Canton, Ohio, and have lived almost my entire
life in Dover, Ohio;it has become my greatest wish to dedicate my life, knowledge, compassion, and
care to the community that has given me so much. Although I am sure that any position in
pharmacy will provide me with satisfaction, I know that my true purpose can only be fulfilled if I
have the opportunity to work acutely hospitalized patients, helping them to return to fullhealth
without complications.
Through my IPPE and APPE experiences, coursework, and community outreach (during whichI
provided education and screenings), I have gained experience in providing patient education and
counseling, immunizations, medication therapy management services, and point-of-caretesting,
such as blood glucose and blood pressure assessments. Completing a full-time (non-pharmacy)
summer internship in 2014 helped me to develop better communication skills and to gain
experience in ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining inventories, and adapting to new types of
softwareto track and monitor that inventory.I can workwell individually or with others who have
vastly different backgrounds and knowledge bases to solveproblems and complete large tasks; I
also thoroughly enjoy making recommendations to help my patients as well as providing them with
education and counseling and helping them to alleviate uncontrolled symptoms and simplify their
medication regimens. Enclosed is my curriculum vitae, which willprovide a more comprehensive
overview of my experience in the field of pharmacy.
I genuinely hope that youwill consider me fora position in yourorganization, and I appreciate your
time and consideration. If you have any questions, please call or send me an email, and I will be
happy to answer them. I hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
Ginny L. Daniels
