2. The Preamble
• Joel 3:14 “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of
decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the
valley of decision.”
• Many people in this world are confused in making
the right decisions regarding their future. Decision
Making is very important attribute each individual
must posses.
• The life choices or decisions that we make each
day determines the destiny of our life. Therefore,
it is very vital when making important decisions
that will impact our life in a big way.
3. Introduction
• 2 Samuel 10:9 “When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and
behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the
Syrians.”
• Problem: Enemies before and after him (Joab).
• Alternative Solution: Group the army into Two (2) Groups.
• Best Solution: Group 1 take Syrians and Group 2 attack Ammonites.
• Implement the Decision: Let the war begin.
• Evaluate the Decision: A very good decision as the war is won.
• Proverbs 10.1 “ A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his
mother.”
• Proverbs 14:1 “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down
with her own hands.”
4. What is Decision Making?
• Is the action or process of making important
decisions (Apple Dictionary)
• Decision is a conclusion or resolution reached
after careful consideration.
• Decision Making is a Process and there is no short
cuts. Follow the process and you will make a good
decision with considering all options available.
• Decision making is the Choice that we make in
each situations. In order for you to make a
decision there must be a situation whether good
or bad.
5. Who Makes the Decision?
• Decisions are made by Decision Makers.
• Decision Makers are people who make decisions and or
appointed, mandated or assigned to a decision making
positions.
• Decision Makers vary in different organizations. For
Instance;
• Public Institutions – Board of Governors/ Directors
• Private Organizations – Board of Trusties
• Government Organizations – Departmental Heads
• The system encourages workers' participation in corporate
decision-making process.
6. When to Make the Decision?
• Decision is made when the Time is Right.
• Exodus 14:13 “And Moses said unto the people,
Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of
the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for
the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye
shall see them again no more forever.”
• Decision reached is the favorable result of all
options considered in accordance with the set
guidelines and regulations of the organization.
7. When to Make the Decision?
• Decision is made after carefully considering all
options available at hand. The example is shown
below;

• The Decision Maker must consult all avenues and
follow guidelines when making decision.
• Decision must be based on Facts and Figures.
There must be a justification for a decision
reached.
• The decision made must be in accordance with the
set Goals and Objectives of the organization.
Decision must be in the best interest of the
organization and not Self-interest.

Our life is like the sailing ship on a rough sea. Once we have set the course; we need to adjust the sails every now and then in order to reach the desired destination. Decision Making plays an important role in determining our life destiny.
