3. What is surfaces can FloorTeq be applied on?
FloorTeq can be applied to most flooring substrates. New concrete
(Curing Schedules Apply) is the easiest and most common of our
applications. Previously painted or coated surfaces must be reduced to
the original concrete by means of floor grinding, manual grinding,
chemical treatments etc. All applications are very subject to surface
preparation.

Surface Preparation
New concrete floors must be
swept from all loose debris,
dust and contaminants. The
entire floor MUST be washed
with an industrial high
pressure water machine.
Suggested output rating
should be no less than 150
Bar.
Unpainted, soiled concrete
must be degreased and
cleaned prior to any
application. A suitable
degrease must be applied
and brushed vigorously to
remove surface greases
and oils. Wash the entire
floor after degreasing with
an industrial high pressure
water machine. Suggested
output rating should be no
less than 150 Bar / 15lt
per minute.
Check the entire floor
while washing that the
surface is “water break
free” i.e., the water should
make a uniform layer over
the floor. Should the water
“break” in some areas,
repeat the degreasing and
washing procedure.
Previously painted surfaces
must be treated properly
and in most instances, the
original coating must be
reduced to the bare
substrate (Concrete).
The most common is a floor
grinder, that can be hired
from most Tool Hire Outlets.
Remove all coatings.
A suitable degrease must be
applied and brushed
vigorously to remove surface
greases and oils. Wash the
entire floor after degreasing

5. ApplicationMixing
Mixing and Application
FloorTeq is an equal part
mixture. The BASE is the
coloured fluid (B). The
ACTIVATOR is the semi clear
fluid (A). DO NOT MIX THESE
COMPONENTS IF YOU DO
NOT INTEND USING THEM
WITHIN 4 HOURS.
The Activator and Base must
be mixed in equal quantities
eg. 5lt Activator with 5Lt
Base. Only mix a maximum of
half your order for the
primary coat.
Using a clean container, add
equal amounts of Activator
and Base. A measuring
paddle can be used for
indication purposes.
With a paddle or electric
paint paddle, mix the mixture
until a uniform consistency.
Leave the mixture 30
minutes before applying,
mixing it in intervals of 5
minutes.
After 30 minutes, the
product is ready to be used.
FloorTeq can be applied by
the following methods:
• Roller
• Brush
• Conventional Spray
• Airless Spray.
The substrate must be clean
of all loose debris, dust and
foreign materials. Masking
may be done to protect
other areas with masking
tape.
Apply the first coat, without
pooling. Using a dry roller
(not dipped in FloorTeq),
move over the area again in
a single direction. Mix
batches of FloorTeq in
smaller quantities.
Allow 12 hours to cure
before recoating or applying
the second coat.
